Status Update #51 - March 1, 2026

I've gotten a lot of really good writing done this week. I was feeling somewhat overwhelmed by the scale of the story and all the moving parts, but I had something of a breakthrough the other night and now feel a lot more confident as to where I'm going. I also had an absolutely inspired idea that probably won't take effect until at least, like, Episode 7...if that counts for anything! 😅

As I anticipated last week, the next bonus scene is still not ready. My artist is just putting the finishing touches on it now, and I would strongly suspect that it will be out on March the 3rd. Like I said, I'll try to get the next one out asap to compensate for the wait! Also, my publisher tells me that the game has gotten a lot of Steam wishlists as a result of the Next Fest, so that's great! Look for it to release in Early Access in mid-to-late March.

As we continue to preview the next release, I would like to take these status updates as an opportunity to introduce some of the new characters you will be meeting once it is out. Introducing Danika, the king's Lady Almoner and the sole woman on his council. Once the Abbess of the convent that Duvessa herself attended as a young girl, Danika has seen quite the meteoric rise in the past five years, and now finds herself one of the most powerful religious figures in the entire kingdom. A devout child of Verune, Danika's spiritual devotion is met only by her absolute weakness in the face of temptation.

Players who picked the 'abbess of the monastery' option in the game's intro montage will already be somewhat familiar with Danika, even though we haven't yet met her. Suffice to say, she and Duvessa have a lot of history, though the extent of said history is up to you.

That's all for this week! Thanks for your support!
