Buried Treasure - Episode 99
Our return to Pancake Creek is met with a multitude of culinary delights including our own wild harvest of prawns! When the weather finally eases we sail out to the reef where we have to out maneuver a cheeky grey reef shark for our dinner.
This was one of those videos where I was stressing because I didn't think we had a story. What a relief when it all came together with music and voice overs! It has now become one of my favourite videos. The episode spans over nearly 3 weeks as we spent over 2 weeks in Pancake Creek waiting out the weather so we could get out to the reef. It was filmed in June and July 2019 - we're catching up now to real time! I really hope you enjoy it folks.
Much love

Nice to notice Pascale is getting more and more at ease and confident in front of the camera... it seems she's actually enjoying talking at it, making fun... Great choice of music ! It fit really well with the footage. Can you maybe share a bit more on the new camera gear? Brand and specs... Good balance in drone footage and normal shots. Wonderful work ! Thank You.
Cheers Rob. I think I am getting more comfortable for sure. Did you like the weeds song!? As regards to camera gear we might put together a specific video answering this question as it is a good one. The new camera that we purchased in Brisbane was a Panasonic Lumix GH5S with a Leica Wide Angle Lens, Zoom Lens and various filters (NDs and a polariser). In addition we also recently purchased a Sony 100 RX Mark IV point and shoot camera with an underwater housing and underwater lights. Our latest bit of kit is a Manfrotto fluid head for our tripod. Oh and we also upgraded to the paid version of DaVinci Resolve: Da Vinci Resolve Studio 16 and we're enjoying the new features the software has to offer. It turns out that we needed the studio version to process he 10 bit footage from our Lumix. There is also a list of some of the gear we use in the description of our videos but I haven't updated some of the new kit! Will need to do this when time permits...
The prawns looked delicious, not to mention the buckwheat pancakes in Pancake Creek ;) Loved the diving footage as well, and the spirited sail. I'm a bit prone to seasickness, and a little worried about that when I eventually get into more challenging waters.
We can also get a bit crook if we get into unusually rough conditions. Dr Angliss recommended some medication for nausea, Ondansetron which is advertised as not being effective against motion sickness but Pascy finds it useful occasionally.
Prickly Pear fruits are delicious. You peel them and throw them into a blender. Add sugar and blend. Then strain the liquid through a medium strainer to get rid of the seeds. Freeze the juice to make a great sorbet.
That sounds like great advice. We don't have a freezer at the moment but I can't wait to try it. I wonder how it would go in yoghurt- it would certainly be eye catching!
Awesome video! Great stuff, Troy... a "Braai" on the beach...😎 ..now you just need to work on how to pronounce "Toe-klap Rooster". Next time you have a spare moment on the internet... go to Google Translate (from Afrikaans), type in "Toe-klap Rooster" and listen to the pronunciation... 😋 Pascy.. those prawns looked outstanding!! ...made my mouth water! Love to you both.
I think my Afrikaans is going to need a lot more help than that Paul! We both got the mouth watering re-watching those prawns on screen. They were incredibly good.
oh no..... if I watch this I won't have anything to watch next week... I'd forgotten about early access videos and have just been watching on youtube..... should i be tempted....
Next week will be another video! We are also going to start putting up a segment where we answer common questions from the comments section. We answer any questions you guys have directly but there may be something there that you might enjoy. We are just getting the first one ready for a mid week upload.
Once again a great Video.

Thanks Doc. The new camera we bought is really a wonderful bit of gear to use. We'll have to do a short segment on some of it.
