Wild Weather Woman - Episode 98

This week we say goodbye to Brisbane and sail north past Fraser Island to the Capricorn Bunker group where plan to spend some of the winter season. Along the way we recap on our time in Brisbane including giving you a run down on our newly built customised sullage tank, as well as, our new and improved fresh water storage system.

When we arrive at Lady Musgrave Island, strong winds and a predicted thunderstorm with spring tides has us running for cover in Pancake Creek (again!). Expect light wind sailing, heavy weather sailing, a good Pascy drenching, dolphins at the bow and a hallmark Free Range Sailing Spanish Mackerel skull dragging under sail at no less than 7 knots!

We hope you enjoy this one! There's definitely plenty of sailing and we can (finally) showcase footage from some of the new camera gear we were able to purchase when we were in Brisbane thanks to your very generous support.

Much respect

Troy and Pascale

Everytime a wave washes over the boat I bet you are glad of the dodger! Extremely interested in the holding tank - we don't have one as the plumbing is basically updated 1970's technology but should do something about it. There probably isn't much more room in a Clansman than a Compass as far as holding tanks go, so would be very interested to see where exactly it's mounted. Is it possible to get a diagram of how the plumbing is arranged? Tx for another interesting episode

Hi Andrew and Deb - We've just put a post up for you guys with a diagram and explanation of our holding tank design. Let us know if you have any further questions! T & P

Fantastic episode!! Great sailing, wonderful fishing, and that's the best head/holding tank set up I've seen. I'll revisit this if I need to tackle that challenge during what I hope will be an eventual refit of a future boat.

Glad you enjoyed. We just posted a diagram of the holding tank on the Wall - which may be of help in the future :)

Folks, this was a great video, with lots of sailing. Music selections are getting better and better. Appreciate the time you took to share with us. That said, perhaps you could tell us a little bit more about Brisbane, when you have a time.

Hi Joseph. Brisbane, being Queensland's capital had some really great stores so we were able to upgrade our camera and computer equipment. Scarborough Marina was a safe spot to leave the boat while we flew home to see the family in Perth. It rained a lot when we were there and had a nice Botanic Gardens that we wish we'd visited more but we ended up being quite busy editing and working on the boat between us. I (Pascale) got the opportunity to catch up with some old friends who had moved back to Brisbane from Perth. Our experience of the city wasn't amazing due to our house sitting location. The apartment was nice but it was just out of the city and nestled between a train line and 2 arterial roads. So it was very noisy and, even though we were lent a car, which we were very grateful for, we spent a lot of our time stuck in traffic!

After 2 years of 'summer' we are a little out of practice for when the thermometer starts to drop. Good training for our southern cruising though.
