So Long and Thanks For All the Fish! - Episode 65

Well we found this crazy spot of intermittent 4G internet in the southern group of islands of the Whitsundays to get our last video of the year uploaded. Thank you so much for your continued support this year we wouldn't be where we are now (from a video perspective at least) without you and thank you for allowing us to be rewarded for doing something we love, which is creating these videos for you!

As we depart from the Whitsundays in the next week or so we know that we won't have any internet for a couple of weeks, so don't be alarmed if you don't hear from us for a while. Our plans are to head to the Percy Islands, out to the reef and then on to Mackay to upload some more videos and grab a few provisions mid-January (we forgot to get more tea and coffee in Airlie Beach!).

Once again wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Troy and Pascale

Welcome to the Crew Mess Dave. You know we've read every comment you've sent to us and every blessing therein, so we are aware that you have supported us as you could for so much of the journey and we are grateful. All the best for the coming year and thanks again, Troy & Pascale.

As a marine surveyor, seeing the damage to the companionway hatch due to the haul out, I have serious concerns as to where the straps were set and the overall coverage of the haul out crew. There could be serious structural damage to the hull in this area. I do not want to be an alarmist. Things happed during hauls and sets. You may want an opinion from an accredited marine surveyor prior to re-launching. Ugh, whit that said, I send you a Merry Christmas and very happy New Years! Capt. Rick

Oh no, the damage to the hatch was from us hauling on it and slamming it open too many times. The haul out was fine apart from the little slip of the slings and Mirrool is happily afloat once more.

I love the backing music, where do you get it?

T
Troy and Pascale · December 27, 2018

Merry Christmas Peter. The descriptions for each video have the time stamp, song and artist so if you hear something you like, note the time then you can track down who it is and get a link to more of their music on the net. Most of it at no charge!

Can’t wait for new season. We are getting onboard our boat tomorrow. Excited and a bit nervous. Cruising Florida and Bahamas. It took forever to prepare. Just hope all goes well. Btw, please don’t carve up your tiller to smoke fish ext time haha. Happy Holidays guys. We just love your honest content. Cheers! Also if you ever need a place to stay while boat shopping, just let us know! Thanks again for sharing. We appreciate its not easy, but it is worth it.

Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year for you both. As we say, fair winds and following seas for the next few weeks. You provide an inspirational, enjoyable, fact filled exposure of your lives to us all and we appreciate it.

You're very welcome Joseph let's hope these crazy (un) fair winds from the south settle down soon... So we can keep having and filming the adventures.

A very Merry Christmas Troy and Pascale, and all the best in 2019! We'll be excited to see all the wonderful places you take us. And I'm looking forward to seeing the refit activities between now and then. And excited to open our Free Range Sailing Merch Christmas morning, having secreted it away to enjoy as part of our festivities ;)

T
Troy and Pascale · December 24, 2018

Thanks Scott. Just about to start editing our refit series this afternoon. We're hiding out from 35 knot winds, so plenty of power to edit! Enjoy the FRS tees under the 🌲 maybe send us a pic in your get up if you have the chance?

All the best wishes for a happy Christmas and a safe and prosperous New Year! Laughed my self silly over the eggs section. Just caught my funny-bone and I knew the puns were going to roll, however cracked and bad yolks they may have been.(really, really sorry) Again love the images you folks send around the world. Thank you so much for making our world just a little bit brighter and full of adventure!

T
Troy and Pascale · December 24, 2018

Please don't egg us on Thomas, there is always a bad joke on the back burner here somewhere ready to be cracked. We appreciate your generosity and friendship that we have been blessed with and look forward to hearing from you again in the New Year. Please accept our fondest wishes for yourself and your loved ones this Christmas.

A very merry Christmas and a happy New Year to you both, I realise that you don't consider yourselves to be POSH but from now on you certainly are the latter part of that acronym! Ok, I know that it's worse than a Christmas Cracker joke, but it's Christmas Eve at the moment and I don't care!

T
Troy and Pascale · December 24, 2018

We're going the wrong way round Oz so home has always been on the starboard side! Have a wonderful Christmas with loved ones and we'll look forward to your company in the new year.
