Destination Torres Straits - Ep 33

I'm not sure why this video did not post when it was supposed to this morning! But here it is Episode 33 of Free Range Sailing.

Join us as we leave Weipa bound for the Torres Straits. While waiting for the wind we catch a very big golden trevally and dine on a few sprouted coconuts. When the wind finally arrives it’s wet, wet, wet! Arriving in the Torres Straits, there is no shortage of Spanish Mackerel, pesky flies and tricky tides.

We hope you enjoy(ed) it and feel free to leave a comment below (we always give priority to responding to our patrons).

This video was filmed mid January 2018.

Much love Troy and Pas

Sprouted coconuts are filled with foamy, sweet coconut candy!

Bye the way, I have read dozens of books, tons of videos, etc. That's the first mention I've ever seen of sprouted coconuts. Great info!

Again, great lead in with maps. Your video productions are improving on nothing left to improve on, if that makes any sense. Keep going, you’re a part of the family now.

We couldn't have you scouring Google Earth to find us- it was the least we could do for our mess-mate.

Worked in Torres Strait on Mabuiag for two years in late 1960's. Tides and currents are two different entities. Check the Torrey Canyon skipper's log. Folks might be interested in page from the tide tables for that area.

Cheers Fred. We have done a segment to be released in a couple of weeks detailing the tides and the BoM tidal stream predictions. Free info but really important up here as you know.

Good current update Steve Irwin is gett'n a Star on Hollywood Boulevard for his contributions to (probably nature in the modern world not Hollywood!) in the next week. Good Aussie made a difference - put nature and animals on the map for their respect, and made a great legacy for the wildlife.

Knowing that we are making people so happy gives us a big kick, especially from just sharing the fun we have together.
