Mirrool gets her bum cleaned! - Ep 34

After arriving at Thursday Island in the Torres Strait we head straight out to Kagar Reef to give Mirrool a long overdue bum clean. On our return to Thursday Island we experience some epic sailing and beat the sharks to our dinner.

In this episode we also explain what we know about irukandji jellyfish and our trolling set up for Spanish Mackerel.

Haha all the joys of being a crew member without having to scrub sea lice off your gimp suit.

Troy - I have Cop R Bote on my small cat that is anchored in the ocean. Sea life comes off easily but that green scum is tough. How did you move it? I use 80 grit wet and dry. Do you have a better solution? Am in Cooya just above Port Douglas.

It's heavy duty stuff. Bleach kills it if you can shift weight in the boat to list it and then spray the affected area. We're going to pull Mirrool out of the water in Cairns so we'll finally be putting new antifoul on her which is pretty exciting

Is there any worry about eating a shark bitten fish? As in any weird shark bacteria or something? Or is it all fair game.
