Dev Update 14

Hey everyone!

It's time for a look at what's been going on in the world of Edgefield as we share some of the progress we've made in the last month!

1. V0.2.2 Patch for Patreon Supporters!

This past month, we rolled out patch V0.2.2 exclusively for our Patreon community. This update introduced brand new locations, additional Demon Master Cards, and a variety of quality-of-life improvements and bug fixes. All of these features will be fully integrated into the upcoming public release of the Jun Update.

2. Card Hunting Contest Winners

We also hosted our very first Card Hunting Contest, challenging players to be among the first ten to track down all 20 Demon Master cards. It didn't take them long and our winners walked away with some exciting prizes!

3. Character Poll Winner: Trent

After totaling up the tiered bonuses, this turned out to be our closest community vote to date. Trent pulled off the victory by a thin margin of just 17 points. Because of this win, Trent will receive an exclusive Character Update immediately following the Jun Update, which will significantly progress his narrative and expand your relationship options with him!

4. New Jun Poses!

Jun is receiving 15 new poses in this upcoming release! And we are excited to share a sneak peek of a few of them with you <3

5. New Elliot/Ella Poses!

Our main characters Elliot/Ella are also getting brand new poses!

6. New Relationship Route Mechanic

This is the most significant development change we implemented this month. After a lot of internal discussion, we decided it is best for the long-term future of the game to change how relationships function. Moving forward, after you have had a chance to get to know each of the main characters, you will be prompted to permanently decide whether you want to pursue a romantic relationship or maintain just a friendship.

We recognize this deviates from our original plan of allowing players to alter their intended relationship at any time. However, building that level of flexibility proved to be more development-heavy than anticipated. And we found that most players already have a clear idea of who they want to romance and rarely deviated from either path.

To streamline our process, an option will pop up at an certain moment in each character's main storyline to lock in your choice. This change will not eliminate standard dialogue options, and you will still have plenty of opportunities to flirt or decline affection. It just simplifies the underlying logic, allowing us to produce and ship new content faster.

For Jun specifically, this decision point has been added to the previously released Art Club Meeting scene where you share your pictures with her. If you prefer not to restart your playthrough to see it, just note that if you received the nude from her that evening, your game state is already permanently locked into her romance route.

7. Task App Updates

We have overhauled the phone's To Do App, renaming it Task List. To make tracking your progress easier, objectives are now cleanly categorized into Main Tasks, Side Tasks, and Future Content. The previous lock emblem caused some confusion, so this new layout should better clarify which objectives are intentionally reserved for upcoming updates.

8. Dorm 4th Floor Redesign

We polished the Dorm's 4th floor and shifted the room positions so the layout properly reflects the descriptions from the original floor meeting. The women's hallway is now located on the right side of the floor, while the men's hallway is on the left. We also took this opportunity to add extra detail and polish to Jun and Quinn's room.

9. Art Gallery and Fun Lore!

We are excited to showcase some new artwork added to the downtown gallery. This specific installation expands on the lore of Edgefield by introducing players to the local legend of Beaver Boy.

10. Upcoming Scene Previews - Potential Spoilers

To wrap things up, we have a few preview screenshots from the upcoming Jun update to share! Please be aware that if you prefer to go into new content completely blind, these images do contain minor spoilers regarding what to expect next.
