SMT v0.5.1 - UI v2
I forgot to post the progress update regarding this update, but I hope you'll enjoy the new additions! The mod is now in a place where I believe my goal of a stable free roam experience has in large part been met, so going forward updates will shift priority to improving campaign support and general user experience.
I'm quite happy with how this update has turned out, the in-game UI has undergone a rather large transformation but it feels very natural to navigate and functions as you'd expect of the games own menus. Hopefully you all agree, and if not, let me know! I'd love to know your thoughts and feedback on this new UI, and how you think it could be improved.
And of course, thank you all for your on-going support of this project, it's an incredible privilege to be able to work on and with every update I feel I'm exceeding my own expectations of just how far this mod could go when I started developing it.
Revamped in-game UI, the pause menu now contains the following tabs and menus:
Multiplayer Tab:
Missions: Allows you to select any of the base game campaign missions to replay, many missions still do not function correctly so expect instability for now, specific mission compatibility will be improved over time.
Bases: Select any of the Fisk, Demon, Prisoner, or Sable faction bases to replay.
Crimes: Toggle which of the available crime types can spawn.
Player Visibility: Change settings relating to other players in the lobby.
Traversal: Modify certain aspects of the games traversal.
Difficulty: Options to increase enemy difficulty such as spawn count and health multipliers.
Appearance: Modify parts of the players appearance. Contains the player scale option, however it is temporarily disabled due to an issue.
Time Of Day: Change the current time of day.
Lobby Tab:
Lists the current players in the lobby, along with the icon for their equipped suit. Select a player to see available options.
Players with modded suits that you don't have installed will now default to the Advanced Suit.
The host entering the map menu will no longer sync modifications to the clients atmosphere.
Fixed launcher failing to open due to an issue with winmm.dll
Fixed a freeze/crash that could occur when taking down Sable lookout towers.
For those wanting to play on Linux, you must configure wine to load the proxy winmm.dll manually. You can do this through winecfg, or you can set your Steam launch args to:
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winmm=n,b" %command% -nolauncher -mp
This will cause the game to launch into multiplayer by default, if you'd like to instead use the SMT launcher to manually launch into multiplayer, you can remove '-mp' from the launch args.
Please keep in mind this mod is still in active development! Bugs and crashes are to be expected! If you do encounter any issues, please join the discord, where you can find support for fixing problems, and report any crashes you encounter so I can fix them.
