A fabric haul ft. MANY unicorn fabrics

How many unicorn fabrics can one person buy?! You'll have to watch to find out, but the answer is a LOT.

Also - hello everyone! It has been a bit, because it has been a MONTH!

I'm sure I'll talk about it more in an update in a few days, but let's just say that August started with me almost breaking my ankle...and it did not get better from there.

It has been physically and mentally taxing. It feels like it took 10x as much effort to do a tenth of the work, and it has been tiring. I'm not saying that for sympathies sake, I'm doing much better, and I should be able to get all the rewards and promised content out this month - it has just taken me longer than I would have liked.

I was feeling a bit sorry for myself for a multitude of reasons, and I ended up going a bit wild when it came to buying fabric. I've saved the silks for a future haul (where I'll also share some sketches and project plans) and this one focuses on quilt cottons. I have ideas for the vast majority, but I still think I went overboard. Oops.

Also, sorry if I seem to be rushing in this one - I was - because it was 90 degrees and I had to turn the AC off to film haha!

Since I usually get asked, here are the sources/things mentioned.

The main "inspiring" fabric etsy shops:

https://www.etsy.com/shop/BobbieLouFabric

https://www.etsy.com/shop/AnnikasArts

Collections:

Spooky and Sweeter by Art Gallery Fabric

Windham Fabrics Heather Ross 20th Anniversary (Unicorn)

Michael Miller Mystical Meadow

Michael Miller Believe Collection (Magic Meadow Double Border)

Sewing Mood by Paintbrush Studios (https://www.fatquartershop.com/)

Art Theory by Alison Glass (https://alisonglass.com/)

the buttons were from https://www.etsy.com/shop/kabooco

the twills are 100% cotton kaufman twills from fabric.com

the rayons are by cotton + steel, also ordered through fabric.com

I think that is it! If I missed anything, feel free to ask and I will try to link it.

I hope this provides you with some eye candy for the evening and some collections to check out if you're interested. Or you can just live vicariously through my purchases.

Also, looking back I do think this was partially me making up for missing out on the yearly PA trip I usually take with my mom. I tend to load up on quilt cottons there but had to skip it because of dog stuff. Which I don't regret! But I think I felt slightly deprived. And I still do, because half the fun is visiting all the shops. But at least I have a pile of fabric to help comfort me.

Thanks for your support and I'll be back with more videos soon! I'll definitely have another exclusive video up before the end of the month. And I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I will get something more substantial (maybe featuring a pink chemise a la reiene?!) posted this Sunday.

The Fabric Mart unicorn fabric is giving me serious "The Snuggly Duckling Tavern" vibes

How easy would it be to sew with the ruler fabric?? Now that I think about it there are a lot of fabrics that I wish had a rulers printed on the back! All of the fabrics are fantastic. I really loved the chiffon and crepe unicorns. Maybe the chiffon could be turned into a summer wrapper? Just a long robe to flutter behind you dramatically and unicornly?

This was so much fun to watch!! Thank you for sharing. I really enjoy fabric hauls along with your thoughts on what you will be using each for.

Is that border unicorn from M. Müller from the movie Last Unicorn movie? So cool! and best wishes with the new meds, (those) changes are always hard (personal experience here)

I finally found meds that worked for me: Fetzima + aripiprazol + mixed amphetamine salts (Adderall). The last one helped my energy levels. I’ve been taking it over 10 years.

I'm sorry that changing medications has meant that you haven't been feeling good, I'm glad that you felt better enough to be able to film this video. I always enjoy living vicariously through other people's fabric purchases, and I especially love that you buy and use quilting fabrics. I love quilting fabrics for similar reasons to you, but people in the sewing world are so snobby about it! Similarly to you, I also love prints that look innocuous until you come up close, so I found this video doubly delightful! Thank you as always for sharing!
