ignoring my problem projects (by combining them) | Part One, Patreon Version

*edit, you didn't see that typo. you didn't.

Oh man, I really thought I’d have this done on Sunday, what a cute notion that was. And then I stayed up to finish it on Monday. And now it is halfway through Tuesday and it is actually done. Er. Half of it is. I have another hour of roughly cut footage to go through, which will probably result in another 30-minute+ video on this project in the coming days.

Both of these will be exclusive to patreon and then polished up, edited down, and uploaded as a single video publicly. Because a lot of people mentioned missing more casual vlogs--which the dragon dress videos could have been, honestly, but I edited out the majority of the real-time tangents/brainstorming/musings/rambling because I can summarize the idea so much faster in a voice-over. The result is kind of editing the personality out, though.

So, this has all the vloggy bits left in with added narration for the parts I neglected to explain at the time I was working on them. It’ll be re-edited to be more educational (maybe) and less rambly (definitely) before going out to YouTube…or that is the plan.

Speaking of plans, I would like to get the bodice pattern for this uploaded before the month ends, and another video, and fulfill all the tiers—we’ll see if that happens. Hopefully, they will go a bit faster than this one. If so, well, you’ll see the emails about it, lol.

Until then, I hope you enjoy this one! I’m not sure it shows but I did put more effort into it than my pre-break videos/vlogs, which would often get edited on 2x speed and then a single watch-through.

Just little things like editing the audio separately for the vlog bits so the visual isn’t jumpy even if my thoughts are. Also trying to mark notes/corrections/popups with a sound but if that is more annoying than helpful please let me know.

Overall I’m not sure it makes enough of a difference to justify the time but allegedly humans are supposed to want to improve at things so I’m giving it a try.

Thank you for reading/watching/the support, as always! 🥰

ha ha ha just catching up on this and the "how it would look if I didn't add a bunch of shit..." is making me giggle so hard

Hi Angela. I'm glad that you keep fighting and trying to get your life back. Regarding the style of the vlog, I actually like when you explain stuff as it comes and that not everything is a well-thought-through voiceover. However I don't like the sound of the "popups", I think it's rather disturbing and takes away of the what you're saying in the given moment. Also if you put a lot of text on the screen, please make sure that we get enough time to actually read it without the need to pause the video. Thank you for considering these viewer improvements :) Take care!

SOOO happy to see you posting videos again! Your videos inspire me to be more diligent (i used to never bother with seam ripping and re-sewing something, even if i messed up!) and more creative with my projects. I'm not usually one to incorporate trims or notions as design elements, but you always add so much dimension & depth to your pieces with layered trims and sequins. They're beautiful! Excited to see what you do next : )

Aw, thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoy them! I should probably be more diligent about that, too, honestly...but half the fun of trims are that they can hide things 🤭

I like the bloop bloops! They're a good cue for me to look up from my crochet, and I like that you let your personality come out through them!

What a glorious thing to wake up to this morning!! So So Happy to see you creating and all your plans and progress.... from my experience, I do more creating than finishing.....BUT... I'm watching this while organizing my craft room, and sorting my half finished projects into actual labelled tubs and making the list of what I need to finish them!

Thank you so much! Oh man the graveyard of unfinished dresses I have hiding in my basement...it is a crime, finishing things is HARD! That is awesome that you are going to tackle them!

It's so good to see your work again! Really enjoying the chatty vibe and the twists and turns of the process, here. In case it's helpful for editing, there's an audio artifact at 26:47 that kind of obscures what you're saying. If not helpful please ignore me!!

Noted, thank you, and I'm glad you enjoyed it! 🥰

Love your videos. I am glad you are returning. Only one little thing I would love to read the written comments but they are always gone before I can. I know I could just stop the play but my hands are full of yarn and needles. This is a very small quibble I get so much amusement and interesting info from your work that it is minor. Now I feel bad saying anything.

Thank you! No that is valid, it is a hard thing to balance, I feel like if they stay up for too long it can be confusing to what they even reference but too short and they aren't helpful at all. I'm glad that you otherwise enjoyed it, though! 🥰

I think your personality comes through in the voice overs too! I think you explain things well and you inject a good amount of humor

Aw, thank you, that means a lot! 🥰
