Assassin's creed: Shadows VR
Drill is common:
windowed mode
no FG no frame cap in cut scenes also, disable dof and motion blur.
Features:
DLSS/FSR works with model replacement as well
correct UI marks on screen
head aim for throwabels
Known issues:
aiming somewhat broken if you turn off aim assist, if you enable it it will mess with camera a bit
some users reported significant gains with latest nvidia drivers
UI somewhat leaning towards upper part of the screen offseting it not possible at it breaks gamepad cursor
v1.0.0 - fixed RT effects and other post effects, now all areas are perfect, fixed map for gamepad
v1.0.1 - Same frame sync, better UI scaling, world scale(under VR tab)
v.1.0.2 - fix for throwables
v1.0.3 - configurable camera distance and centering on PC noth to the right shoulder
v1.0.4 - added openxr fov stencil if you set it to 0.5 it gives about +40% fps with close to zero impact on visible area, centering camera pivot right now is config option(false by default) in pre version it was always on, improved HUD scaling, right now only 2D cut scenes is unscaled intro and anubis
v1.0.5 - increased FOV scale range(those who has saved previous settings, need to readjust), fixed almost all HUD elements, right now only non scaled element is anubis, for map I've been thinking to just show as flat screen as some areas is unreachable without proper zoom
v1.0.6 - for openXR map right now shows as flat screen, also added back+start gamepad combo to enforce flat screen
v1.0.7 - more improvements for flatscreen, configurable display distance, retruned fov scale ranges to initial implementaion 0.5 works perfectly for quest3, for those who still demand bigger range I left checkbox to enable extended range.
v1.0.8 - update to support latest version
v1.0.9 - update to 1.1.19 version
v.1.0.10 - update to latest version
v1.0.12 - update for latest version
v1.0.13 - update for latest version signature version ( has to be working on any store version)

I use OpenXR with 3D glasses on a huge 120Hz screen. SteamVR launches automatically, creating three windows: two game windows—one showing a standard 2D image and the other a split-screen view—and the input focus remains locked on the main 2D window. I can't force the focus to the split-screen window; I have to struggle by moving the 2D window down, which causes the taskbar to pop up, and a sliver of the 2D window still remains visible. Luke Ross has a key combination that hard-locks the input focus—in my case, to a PS controller. Do you have a similar method for quickly switching the active window for the controller? When the 3D window is active and in the foreground, neither the controller, mouse, nor keyboard responds within it; they only work in the 2D window.
I noticed this, openvrVR overlay window is quite annoying, I will see if I can focus window after launch
this framework does not work for me. i only see a black screen in my quest3 headset. on my monitor i do see the game and the mod overlay aswell but my quest stays on black screen. i tried openxr and open vr.
I see shadows got an update, I need to see if signatures changed
Since you released Assasins Creed Shadows, does that mean you are done with Control? Might play that next if its finished.
Control is fully playable, however this is my playground for new framework and I will be doing it's modifications, shadows is just offsets adoption
Black Flag is comming ? :-O
Thank you very much for this updated mod :)
Is it possible to add a Mono mode, so that users with lower-performance devices can also play with the head-mounted display, even though it won't be stereoscopic?
can we stablize the ui like CP77 (while not head aiming something)
How to disable DOF in this game?
It has in game settings, if not, that is a miss in manual
This is my first time trying out your mods, so maybe I'm missing a step, but for me the UI in the main menu is too wide and I can't read it. I tried using the mod settings, but both X and Y sliders make it scale vertically, not horizontally, it seems. Watched a Youtube video and there it seems to have the same issue. So am I supposed to just memorise what to press and go through settings and stuff only in flat mode?
Also, I nitpick, but maybe it could be possible to add Dualsense support for the VR menu. The mouse only worked once when I moved the menu closer and then it disappeared and I couldn't get it to work again (made sure the game window is focused too), so to tweak VR settings I had to temporarily switch to an xbox controller.
Thanks for the update 🙂
thank you again for fixing your mod with this last AC update <3 i hope no more AC shadow supdates for a while (if ever:p)
Damn, there was another update today. I had saved a copy of the game folder and used it after updating last time. Now, with this new update, I wanted to check v1.0.8 to see if it covers this new update as well in addition to that previous one. But the game exits once the first loading screen finishes. Hopefully I can use my saved copy again.
I will check today
First of all LR does not have concept of resolution scale, he has some like pixel density, I am not sure you comparing apples to apples, second you can compare different engines performance. I tried LR the last of us part one and mod didn’t even manage to sync hmd and box was lagging behind
Anyone got any tips perf wise for a G2, 4090, 14900kf? Got the G2 @60hz mode and still struggling to get solid fraps. Trying to hit native 60hz without aer. 90hz with aerv2 runs like a dog unfortunately for me. Many spanks in advance.
unfortunately openvr does not really have good support for multiple poses in same frame, however that issue for oculus in support mode with steam streamer. You won't get 60 fps in sylly sunced mode as that would require 120 fps with VR fov, game runs in about 60 fov so VR makes it double. If your G2 support native openxr, try this settings set fov scale 50% set async aer, disable any reprojeciton in steam ( ASW/SSW), use dlss replace to M/L projile and set preset to performance in game, use resolution scale as main lever for acceptable performance. This game runs in always on raytracing mode you need to make tradeoffs
thank you for 1.0.8 update :) <3
You are right about scaled fov, it only supported by limited runtimes like VD and primax. Async AER essentially is ASW but mor gentle to engine frames it is not locking engine frame rate, so if you have stable 60+ fps with async AER try disabling ASW as it will lock engine to half rate and benefits will be neglectable. If you want it use ASW just disable async AER. You should understand that shadows is top tier engine this engine by far is best in my opinion beating even AW2, it has always on ray tracing so you need to understand performance toll it gives.
Sorry for being stupid but do I download both the v1.02 and v1.07 (xr )
Only latest version, it has all you need
hello, would it be possible to add a 2D screen mode but still with 3D stereo ? for openxr, uevr 2D screen mode has it, so i was wondering if maybe it would be doable for your mods as well ? it would be so great to have this option.
Mutar, can you please clarify if this works correctly. In version 1.0.4 moving the FOV sliders to 0.5 indeed did not seem to make a difference in the image, and it felt indeed that I gained some performance (not sure if 40%). However, with version 1.0.5 the shrinking of the screen starts almost immediately if I reduce the FOV. Since I leave it on almost 1 or 0.95, I don't have much performance gain. Is this working correctly? Does the new slider no longer offer any benefits? At least the subtitles and the Reload Save buttons after death work now. Thank you!
in 1.0.4 FOV range was from minFov to maxFov, new range is from minFov/2 to maxFov so essentially range has increased, to get same behaviour as in 1.0.4 slider value needs to be adjusted 0.5->0.75 . I made it for primax users as they wanted slightly bigger range for fov. But for quest users you only need to slide this values to 0.75 approx.
Thanks for the improvements !
Thank you for spending the time to improve and refine these profiles before moving on to the next game. One of my pet peeves early on was that I felt you moved too quickly to a new game before fully completing the last one. It is amazing the improvements you’ve made and how you have even taken what you’ve learned on newer games and spent the time to go back and improve the older ones. Kudos!
Thanks a lot 👍👍👍
Thanks for the continued improvements!
Thank you! Zoom option (camera distance) is amazing even is not perfect but very close to the fpv, juts walking slowly and its cool to look around and enjoy of enviroments... so cool! Still appears loading in dialogs some times... but at least its not every dialog )
"fix for throwables" <3 thank you !!!
Hi. Thank you for your hard work. I use VRto3D and play on a passive 4K TV. I have played GOW Ragnarok and it runs perfectly smoothly. However with AC Shadows there is slight choppy motion turning left and right. I have 60fps performance in both games. I downloaded Mirage and same issue. Any ideas for a fix for the AC titles?
Try enabling/ disabling async AER, also some users with vrto3d use very late sync
Looks great. Thanks for the work. Issue I have is the camera is shaking when the head moves. It's not very smooth. Any suggestions?
Depends, if it has little stutter effect, that is mostly when async aer conflicts with spacewarp, turn off either of these. Async aer in mod overlay or VD has it in settings
Thanks, great job. Don´t forgett Assasins Creed III (smile).
so happy you managed to fix all that stuff, kudos :)
if you have the game on Steam, it also has Ubisoft Connect, what do you mean by "non Ubisoft Connect games", it's imposible to have the game without that shit
Someone mentioned some exceptions with other AC series, I just wanted to highlight this
Thank you for the map fix! Now its a lot easear to select and fast travel... But we still need some fix with the menu hud... almos not readable text there... i hope you can find the values to make this bigger and not stiked to the head movement (because is very wight) Thank you for a good job!
Thank you for your work, sir! You rock!
Since you already have experience with the AC series, I wanted to suggest going back to a classic title — specifically Assassin’s Creed II. AC II has a very different kind of atmosphere and pacing compared to the newer games. The cities, rooftops, parkour flow, and story feel more focused and intimate, and I honestly think it could shine even more in VR than the modern entries. For me personally, AC II stands out as the perfect next step — even on its own, before considering other classic AC titles.
You're a great writer...unless this was AI?? ;)
Find a weird bug... game from Ubisoft not steam. Dialogs have problems. If i disabled the mod all dialogs are instant... no delay, no weird loading... but when i enable the mod i got loading black screen in each dialogs in game... Had to wait a few seconds and and watching a black screen with loading logo in a right corner... The funny thing some of the dialogs its just a few words or animation... no clue what can cause this... Can some one confirm the same problem?
Hi! I really like your VR mods for flat games — amazing work 👍 I wanted to ask: do you have any plans to make a VR mod for Dying Light 2 or Dying Light: The Beast? I think these games would be incredible in VR. Thanks for your work!
I will make another poll later and patrons will drive next game, unless something will pop up which I would want to play in VR
Thank you very much Mutar and Merry Christmas to you :)
I probably missed it below, but has this been confirmed to be support for AC Shadows? If so I will buy it, now!!! Even if it doesn't work great, yet... thank you!! I think this is going to be a fun one in 3D!!!
It is working, just not perfectly at the moment.
Hi Mutar, how can I turn off dof in this game? There’s no in game option and even I inserted the line dof=0 in the shadow.ini file it doesn’t work. The dof effect in the game now makes many scenes kind of broken..
This dof you can't turn off unfortunatelly
thank you but its not playable atm... to low fps... some txt are to small to read, etc etc... i understand its just a raw, i hope you fine time to fix all those problems while we plaing other games with your mods (UPD: Using VD (link cable before) and latest Nvidia drivers, and DLSS perf gave me a little more fps but still... i need more)
don't expect high fps, this is quite heavy game for gpu. I have about 45 fps in async AER with 3500 texture and RT on with all ultra, but DLSS set to balanced or even performance, also I replaced dlss to latest model
Is this deathloop ?
Excellent
Come on guys, tell me what game it is otherwise how can I buy it?
Is this Tetris?
Haha what game is this?
I don't see any hitns, only technical details, I wonder why this is easy to guess :-O
We only move forward in time, not bacwards
CONTROL??
For your information, maybe Shadows... Unity...
I haven't played Shadows at all... if it's that, I wonder if this is how I should try?!
WH 40k?
Thank you for all the mods really enjoying ACO at moment could this be Origins?
or AC shadows
