Upcoming Updates

As I get better at using Blender, and learning all the bits within Sims 4 Studio, I am slowly improving some of my older releases (while working around new stuff, and conversions, at the same time wooops).

I have learned about how lights shine within a space, and what numbers should go where to determine this; I have learned some tricks to try get polycounts down - so the item loads quicker within the game - without removing too much detail; and, I've learned all about interaction coding, and bits here-and-there to edit functions.

I have now finalised the tuning that I plan to use for all lighting going forward, and I will be updating some of the older things with the new tuning. Those who play Off-The-Grid will know of the frustration of clicking a light that may be working fine, but are unable to select the options to change light settings etc. - because "Power Doesn't Work Off-The-Grid". Or, simply not all different functions are available to use.
My tuning allows you all the normal light interactions, plus a couple which were previously not available for candles and Off-The-Grid lights.
Each light I do will have its own text changed for the type of light it is - so, for example, if you click on an oil lamp, it won't say "Light Candle", it will say "Light This Oil Lamp". You can also adjust all lights in the current room, or all lights on the lot -- by "light", I mean "flames", it will include all candles, as well as all oil lamps, as well as all gas lamps - but not lights with light-bulbs.

The first one I have updated is the "Victory Candelabra", (or "The Golden Torch"). I hope, once you've downloaded the new file, you will like it much better in your builds, and find new locations for it!

Please let me know if there is something I have released that isn't working exactly as you think it should, and I can give it a priority look-over!

This isn’t related to lighting cc issues, but how many of your lights function as nightlights? The ones from the game are alright, but they are too modern.

I didn't even know there were nightlights O_O None of my current lights will function as a nightlight (as far as I am aware), but I am going to look into this feature further, and see if I can use my imagination to make something appropriate that is a candle or an oil lamp (or both!). Thank you!
