The test release for the Functional Baby Monitor has gone really well and I’ve been making a few final tweaks before release day. Thank you so much to the five simmers who tested, shared feedback, reported issues, and helped me polish the mod before launch.💜💜💜💜

I also wanted to reveal a few extra cool features that i was able to finish in time and clarify how the mod will be released:

Live Health Readings

One more feature I’ve added is Live Health Readings, which will be available with OohBeGahTech monitors. (I didn't want the premium brands to have ALL the cool features)

This feature allows the baby monitor to track your little one’s vitals, wellbeing, sleep through the monitor itself.

The coolest thing about this feature i think are the integrations !!

There are currently three mods that in the sims 4 modding community that add illnesses/diseases to babies, infants, or toddlers, and I’ve added support for all three!!:

• LoryNa’s Pediatric Illnesses & Injuries

• Adeepindigo’s Healthcare Redux

• Responsible Pregnancy - Module 7 Newborn complications

This means that when your little one is sick through ANY of these supported mods, the baby monitor can reflect how their vitals are being affected.

Different illnesses and complications can affect the report in different ways. For example, LoryNa’s Bronchitis may have more of an effect on breathing, etc. (as per the above example with Kenji who has Bronchitis)

At the moment, I BELIEVE these are the only mods that add illness or health complications for babies, infants, and toddlers. If there are any other mods I’m not aware of, let me know and I will add support for them.

*The Functional Baby Monitor does not change the mechanics of these mods. It is purely a visual monitoring feature that lets you keep an eye on how your little one appears to be doing while they are unwell.

**You don't need ALL or any these mods for this function to work also.. There are other EA factors that will influence the vitals other than illnesses.

Scold Toddler Through Monitor

I was asked to add a Scold Through Monitor interaction, so caregivers can react through the monitor when their toddler is making a mess. The baby monitor wont alert when a toddler is doing this but the screen will show them making a mess and the scold interaction will become available for caregivers to choose.

Silent Needs - Change

For silent needs notifications, these will not constantly pop up on their own. Instead, there will be a 'Check Indicator' button that can be chosen on monitor when the baby monitor is glowing yellow so that caregivers can choose to check the monitor to see the reason behind the notification. This is to help avoid notification spam when a baby, infant, or toddler has multiple low needs .

There is also a mute alert AND mute indicator button when you simply don't give a F and your sim wants a break.😅

Release Versions

The mod will be released on Friday 5pm UTC time in two versions:

1. CC Pack Only
For anyone who just wants the baby monitor objects without the functional gameplay features.

2. Functional Baby Monitor Mod and CC pack Version
For anyone who wants the full baby monitor functionality mod.

Small Optional Mod Add On - Toddlers & Infant's Cry Longer

I’ve also made a very very small optional add-on to go with the mod that increases how long toddlers and infants cry for.

Currently, toddlers and infants usually cry for a maximum of around 15 minutes, which can feel quite short for the baby monitor alerts because they may turn on and off too quickly. This add-on extends that time a little so the alert system feels more useful and realistic.

This add-on is completely optional, so it is up to you whether you want to download and include it.
