🔓 Gallery Unlocker — How to Use It

Hi everyone!

Ultra Ren’Py Translator now includes a Gallery Unlocker for compatible Ren’Py games, with support for several gallery systems, a restoration option, and an animated installation confirmation.

How does it work?

Many Ren’Py games lock gallery entries until you have seen certain scenes or images. Others keep their own gallery progress records.

The unlocker installs a small script inside the selected game. When you open the game, it marks supported gallery entries as unlocked and saves the previous state of the data it changes.

It works with supported gallery systems; it is not a universal unlocker for every game or activation code. It also cannot add scenes or content missing from your installed game.

📋 How to unlock a gallery

Close the game and back up your saves.
Open Ultra Ren’Py Translator.
In Home, select the Ren’Py game you want to use.
Scroll to Gallery and scenes, below the translation buttons.
Click Unlock gallery.
Wait for the animated “Gallery unlocker installed!” popup.
Open the game and enter its gallery.

You do not need to translate the game first.

💡 The popup confirms that the unlocker was installed. The actual changes happen when the game starts.

↩️ How to restore the previous state

Close the game.
Select the same game in Ultra Ren’Py Translator.
Click Restore and remove.
Open the game once to finish restoring its previous gallery state.

Restoration uses the backup created by the unlocker. It may undo later progress in the gallery data it changed, and it does not reverse unlocks made by older versions that lacked this restoration system.

✅ Compatibility testing

Tests on isolated game copies confirmed:

m.s.c. 0.75opt: 117/117 gallery entries.
MBDK 0.11.5: 71/71 gallery entries.
Amnesia Remaster 0.107: 28 scenes, 90 variation steps, 6 memories, and 4 renders.

These tests checked gallery unlock conditions and restoration—not complete playback of every scene.

🧪 Still in ALPHA

Some games use systems that are not supported yet. Compatibility can also change between game versions.

If a gallery stays locked, please report the game name, exact version, and what happened. Please do not include passwords, activation codes, or private account information.

Thank you for supporting Ultra Ren’Py Translator! 💙
