Show time!
Crawls out from under a rock… What year is it?!
I am back! And I come bearing gifts! But first, where the actual shit have I been? Well… I kinda pointed this out a year ago, with the response to LDR I got hungry and ambitious. I wanted something of my own creation, I wanted to go bigger and better! So I took the numerous lessons I learned and walked face first into a wall haha! It didn’t take long at all to realize the game I wanted to make was going to require time, and a lot of it. This last year and a bit has been just that, keeping my head down and learning, drawing, writing, designing. The choice between Unity and Godot was tough, there was even a few months where I thought to design the engine myself. Moving away from photoshop to Krita came with challenges. Learning Asprite and refining my pixel art style and process was mind bending, my steam account says I have 2k hours on it so far. But I knew I didn’t want to come back with a single character and one line of code.
That said, allow me to break the ice and introduce my new project! Fringe With Benefits! Haha It's a rather ambitious beast, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m taking a lot of inspiration from the Farm Life Sim genre, like the ‘My Time’ series and of course Stardew Valley. It’s also shaping up to have a large amount of systems like base upgrading, trading, and combat. But of course rest easy, this will 100% be an Adult 18+ sexual content filled game haha! The tags for which are still being decided, though I would point towards LDR to reassure that I don’t shy easily and there will be something for everyone by the time it's in full swing. The main character will be male once again, but the bones for a character creator are implemented. As of right now the cast is a bit heavier on the female side, and I plan to allow for everyone supporting and following the game to guide the character implementation priority as we go.
Over the next week I will be getting a few last minute odds and ends in order to make an appearance at the upcoming Adult Game Fest on September 24-26, so expect a lot of chatter from me!
