I'm late to this conversation, but I want to take a pit stop during my download binge. People with sense understood what you meant. Those type of people just have a mindset that's in the gutter and they take it out on everybody.

Honestly, from all the other mods that youve posted, I don't see how people got in their butts about the name. Like, it goes with the rest of the your mods, if that makes sense. Regardless of what's going on around in the world, they can easily read the description and see, oh, it's about teens being new to adulthood, you know? in my opinion, I do like the other mod names better though, like the "Fresh into Adulthood" Or "Almost Grown" Almost grown seems really good.... I was going to say more professional, but I mean, you're a modder and you're being yourself, and honestly, that's all that matters. So fuck what all these people talking about.

people need to grow up and get a grip. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the name of the mod. You don't need to bow down to people who cant comprehend the point of the mod. There are real serious issues in this world the should be worrying about, not a mods name.

The fact that people immediately think about it sexually is disturbing but on THEIR part not yours, since it wasn’t even on your mind. The title makes absolute sense since it refers to that era of life when you’re transitioning from teenage years to adulthood. Wtf is wrong with people ? I don’t understand why it’s even a whole discussion. If you don’t change the name, that’s completely fine, THEY need to seek help cause if you see "Barely legal" and immediately think about sexualizing minors and/or teenagers, you must not be right in the head. If you prefer changing the name to avoid confusion with the weirdos, the 4th option fits well for the mod. Smh the world we’re living in 🤦🏿‍♀️

I usually don’t write comments, but this time I just couldn’t pass by, because I myself recently faced a very confusing reaction from players. I created a mod that replaces the money-gifting animation, so that instead of handing over a huge box, Sims actually pass money. In the preview, Mortimer Goth was giving his daughter Cassandra some pocket money. I also added the option to give small amounts. Cassandra was wearing her summer outfit - a short top and shorts. As a result, I received reactions saying that this was sexualized and that it was horrible. What I want to say is this. In Ukraine, there is a brilliant proverb: “The dog barks, but the caravan moves on.” This saying describes the behavior of a person who is confident in their own rightness: no criticism, and even slander, can stop them from doing their work. No matter how much the dog barks, the caravan will not stop unless the main caravan leader decides so. Don’t get me wrong, please. I am truly, deeply sorry if those commenters have experienced something in their lives related to what they are writing about. But in the end, there is psychotherapy, hotlines, and other kinds of help specifically for dealing with such things. And if a person has internet access to write a comment, then they can write a request for help instead of it. Or they could contact the author privately and ask to change the title or the preview — to actually resolve the issue, if they believe there is one. Because otherwise, it looks like people simply need to pour out their emotions onto someone… irritation, anger, hatred. I don’t know what you will decide to do about the title. And in any case, your decision will be the right one!! I chose not to accept the emotions of people who are strangers to me — and I did not change the preview.

Wow. For your own peace of mind, change it if you'd like but if it were me, I wouldn't change anything at all. I've been wanting a new standard to be set for stuff like this because the current one sucks. At some point, reasonably minded people need to put their foot down, and stop letting these people feel like they can get their way if they make enough noise about their made up issue. Nobody is obligated to hold your hand on the internet or in life. If you're offended by something, disengage with it and move on, rather than trying to force someone to live in the box you built for them. If their mind went somewhere else with a term or phrase, that's a them problem, and they should spend more time wondering why that popped into their mind in the first place. To me, this is a them problem and it should stay a them problem. I'm tired of seeing creators browbeaten into capitulating to what they want. I think that's why people have gotten so comfortable micromanaging and dictating to other people, because they keep getting their way. I'd stand 10 toes down and let them cry about it until they found some other made up issue to go rabid over. Ultimately, its your choice, and what's best for you. Sorry you're going through this.

I mean, even I read the description and knew your intent, and I have depression so that can be hard for me sometimes. I'm sure they had their reasons for not reading the description so I'm trying to be empathetic. As Jay said, is everyone okay? Because if a depressed person can take time to read the description despite having to break metaphorical boulders to do so, then that says a lot about everyone else's mental state. Do you guys need help? Edit: I was also thinking a title inspired by Lilo and Stitch would be cool because Nani was 19 when she ended up having to raise Lilo and it was a struggle because she was barely adulting herself, but she did do right by Lilo and prove to be good at raising her despite what Cobra Bubbles initially believed. I'm not sure what that would be but maybe something like "Just Like Nani Pelekai" but that also feels very specific and those who don't know Lilo and Stitch might not get it, but I'll let you know if I think of something better.

We know what the mod was, a simple read who have helped thoes individuals also.. You have people that sit online all day and this is what they do... nitpick about everything, and make everything out to be bigger deal than life itself....Change the name for your peace of mind not a bunch of misplaced angered mouth breathing keybroad warriors that are miserablely looking for the next online battle when there's actually modders out here that make disgusting mods...You know they say misery loves company, not today devil. This is very cool of you. "Almost Grown" or "Fresh Into Adulthood," IMO. I think because (1) you're a male, and (2) there are whole **very** large categories of corn directly called "barely legal," and (3) some of us have uncles with ..."preferences" (who should be in jail, but of course won't ever be.) (4) Some of us recall many any instance of overhearing men expressing, verbally, desire "for *barely legal*" using those words. Even though many understood your intent as innocuous, I can absolutely see/get people getting disturbed, because of life experiences. A common life experience, unfortunately. I think it's amazing you heard those, many, voices, and, as you said, you aren't too proud to change the title for them. Thanks for that, it's a rare and excellent quality.
