Han is so funny and so versatile. Such a creative, talented guy! As for Mujin's comments, the one about the "shout" was definitely a compliment. I think some things don't really translate that well in the subs (both in terms of language as cultural things)
I have known for so long how good he is at freestyle raps but I panic for him every time I watch this, haha As for him taking his right in-ear out, I'm not sure that's a good sign of him having sound issues. He always takes his right in-ear out when performing, has done for at least as long as I can remember. I also have always thought it was funny how he claims his dad took him to Malaysia to experience the world and open his mind, and then the decision was made to homeschool him. I suppose that the reasons behind it makes a lot of sense even if we'll never know them but it feels like homeschooling defeats the purpose of the move in the first place, haha!
He probably did experience the world, just not school life and socialising with kids his age
By the way, I've gotten the impression that Mujin is mostly self taught and not studied singing academically so he's probably not familiar with all the technical terms. That by the way goes for Han aswell, with the clip you once watched of him and Lee Know talking about scratchiness in the nose for those highnotes technique
Yaaaay I love this episode. Han is so fun as an interviewee. It's neat to hear him do parts that aren't his parts on CASE 143. From my personal perspective it feels INSANE for a show host to ask someone to do a freestyle rap on the spot like this but Han is known for being good at them (and he probably did have some advance notice if we're honest). But it stresses me out a little every time π OH also, it was on my mind because of all the covers on Lee Mujin, but Han has a LOT of song covers that he's posted on Instagram over the years. They're all pretty short (like 20-30 seconds of each song) but some people have compiled them into YouTube videos. I think I'll send it through the request app. Han definitely is obsessed with weird things. Weird things, weird people. π Han being homeschooled in Malaysia and feeling somewhat lonely and isolated contributes a lot to his sad, emotional lyrics. The backbone of "hanpop". He also famously had some trouble adapting socially when he was a trainee. He and Hyunjin butted heads so much they almost physically fought each other at one point. He's grown a lot since debut but unfortunately I suspect most of his teenage socialization was from kdramas π
Therefore a lot of his songs about relationships are based on either dramas or shows like Transit Love (EXchange)
I love how Mujin got bashful when Han gave him a thumbs up during the last song. And how Han changed the meaning of Alcohol Free with his rap lyrics (I'm not sure if you caught all of that when looking up the original song at the same time) I think Han's freestyle skills is his true hidden talent. He's shown it to us a few other times but not very often. A compilation: https://youtu.be/Cack2CkNG20?is=1HPs2j-S19juXJr1
ooo thank you. There's a lot on here I haven't seen. Like the song about a mosquito π its... beautiful? Also every time I see that shirt they dressed Hyunjin in for MANIAC (Hotter than your ex, better than you next) it makes me cackle.
I allways thought it was incredibly random that he asked about the song "school life". That song was part of the survival show thats how hold it isπ at the point of the interview that was 5 years ago. And its not even a paticular big or popular song eitherπ But I guess the randomness is also just part of the Lee Mujin service charme
Might be it's more popular in Korea? Or maybe Mujin just prepared for the episode thoroughly, or he's a Stay since the show and likes the song
Time to party!
