The video is wrong. Heeseung did not develop Perfect Pitch. In an interview, he had it in him when he was so young and discovered that he had this innate talent in him, so yeah he has perfect pitch all along. Not developed at all.

Helloo!! i just bought the membership here because i saw the killing voice reaction on youtube and i wanted to get the full thing hahah. I am gonna watch that next but i wanted to coment some things here before i do. Also, english is not my first language so sorry in advance if i make any mistakes or if i phrase something in a rude or unpolite way 🙏🙏. First of all, i ve been into enhypen since their debut, i didnt watch I-land while it was being aired but i watched it after the debut. Some things to know about that show is that there were 23 participants from ages arround 14 to 23 that were isolated from the world (also because it was the peak of the pandemic lol) for months while filming the show. Anyone that has watched I-land can tell you that it was borderline traumatic for the participants, including those who ended up debuting afterwards. They were given the performances and had to decide who would take each parto of it, learn the choreo, lyrics, practice and everything all on their own, and would only get the coaches advices like once through each performance that they prepared. Not only that but they were also devided between the 12 best trainees that would live in the best set, with extra food, beds, colorfull clothes and the best practice rooms, while the rest of the less talented trainees were sent to a small studio were the only thing to do was practice. They also had to vote and decide themselves who they thought was deserving of staying and who deserved to go. Even enhypen members till this day talk about I-land saying that they dont think they could ever go trough that again. But on the brighter side, you can really see their growth and how much they learnt from I-land, from stage precense to stable live singing while dancing. I stan a looooot of kpop groups from different companies and generations, i have seen a lot of them being form from survivals as well, but in my opinion Enhypen is one of the best male kpop groups from its generation! Apart from all of that i also wanted to add that what the video said about Heeseung having perfect pitch is true!! but as you said it is not something you just can develope with time. He has talked about it on numerous interviews, and he in fact was born with it. He mention a couple of times that his first memories whit it are from when he was a kid and could recognize different notes while being in the car whit his dad (or something like that, i cant remember very well hahah) but yeah, he can recognize not only one but even three notes at a time. Sorry for the super long comment, also i didnt know how to divide it in paragraphs, it wouldnt let me 😭😭

Yes. They misspoke when they said Heeseung “developed” perfect pitch. He tells the story of how he discovered he has it. He was riding in the car and his father farted and he immediately said “sol” or whatever it was 😂. If a 3 chord is played he can tell you the notes even with sharps/flats. It’s wild.

I'm new to Enhypen, haven't heard any of their songs yet, so I'm just curious! I don't speak Korean and I'm not studying in any formal or focused way, but I've been enjoying kpop so much and I read a lot of manhwa (Korean equivalent to manga/graphic novels) translated into English, so I've become more and more curious about it and now when I have a little more bandwidth I'd like to learn hangul and start some relaxed studying. I am a native Japanese speaker though and I notice a lot of similarities in pronunciation/overall "sound" of the language and there are even quite a few words that sound very similar between the two languages, largely because both languages have a significant vocabulary pool that was imported from Chinese hundreds and even thousands of years ago. The grammatical structure seems mostly the same as well. So I think it would be a fairly intuitive language for me to learn!

I would like to see your reaction to i land! I think it would be a really good idea to watch everyone’s growth! (Fun fact some of the people on i-land will later be part of another popular kpop group called &team )

Hey Tim, I love how you put in the effort to learn how to pronounce all these artists' names. Here are some comments on your questions in the video: I am also curious how many native Korean speakers are here. Korean is my second language, since I was born in the States, but I can read, listen to, and speak it decently. Weverse is an app where artists can interact with fans, so many K-pop artists do lives there, kind of like an IG or YouTube live. The AI voice mispronounced maknae (meaning youngest sibling) wrong. The voice pronounced is like mak-nie (like die), but it should sound like mang-nae (more like nay).
