KATSEYE LIVE @ LOLLAPALOOZA CHICAGO 2025 FULL SET REACTION

Saw your youtube video and I would recommend checking out their performance of Time Lapse as they really get to vocally shine there!!

The first pronunciation of my name was right lol big thanks for taking my suggestion. Dani used to do professional level ballroom dancing and was even on the kid version of So You Think You Can Dance and America's Got Talent. Dani's mom is actually a former ballroom dance and Latin rhythm world champion so Dani has been dancing since she was basically old enough to walk. Lara has perfect pitch she helped the girls on their most recent tour to do their own rifts and runs. Two of the girls were born in other countries and the others are second gen immigrants born in the US. Lara, Dani, and Megan were born and raised in the US while Sophia was born in the US but was raised in the Philippines. Yoonchae is from Seoul, South Korea and is the youngest (or maknae) of the group just barely turning 18 this past December. Megan is considered the "all rounder" and she was born in Honolulu, Hawaii she is Chinese-Singaporean and American. Lara was born in Stamford, CT and is Tamil-American and is considered the main vocalist of the group. Dani was born in Atlana Georgia and is Venezuelan and Cuban she is the lead dancer of the group. Sophia was born in New York City, but she is Filipino and was raised in the Philippines; she has a background in musical theater and is the leader of the group. Manon was born in Lucerne, Switzerland and is Swiss-Ghanaian she is the oldest of the group at 23 and is considered the main visual of the group. The girls were scouted by Hybe-Geffen and were on a survival show called Dream Academy and they were the 6 finalists out of the 20 contestants that made it to the live show. If you're looking for some more vocal forward performances from them their best song would be Time Lapse their only performance of the song can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTfUNqPiA4E

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a song go from being hated to then being loved like Gnarly.

Ahh Katseye my biggest internal struggle. They are so iconic I cant help but love them while most their music is not really my style😂😂 They are very new (Debut was in mid 24) so besides one feature of Daniela they dont have solo stuff yet and probably wont have for a while. About the question if Kpop is open to them I would say its kinda 50/50. They definatly had their first fans within the Kpop World and alot of their Marketing and Fandom is veeery "K-popy". Now most people really dont care and just enjoy their music but especially when it comes to Rankings and Charts things get confusing and people defensive. When they are listed under Kpop you will find a million comments explaining that they are not Kpop. Which is also kinda fair bc they are not (they are based in LA) and K-pop is something that is part of Korean culture so I understand when especially Koreans get a little protective
