Colorful Array - Neuro-sama (Official Video) Song & Vocal Analysis
This one opened up some of those EXISTENTIAL THOUGHTS again about consciousness! 🤯

I love how you watched the songs out of order. Did you notice a qualitative change between those four songs from Neuro and Evil?
This video shows how LLMs are thinking. Neuro shows her world to her creator but eventually delusions start to creep in, like that colorful birds, that fish, Neuro gets flustered when she notice this and try to hide it. After a while everything start to crumble and all is left are delusions. Sorry for my english ;)
You have probably have a few comments on YouTube mentioning this, but Neuro's sister, Evil, has the more advanced TTS as compared to Neuro. When Evil sings, it is VERY difficult to tell that it is not a human singing the lyrics. I highly recommend their original song "NEVER" which is a duet featuring both Neuro and Evil. Hearing them side-by-side and in harmony is something else. As for consciousness, I am not sure if you have seen the recent discussion Neuro had with vedal regarding who/what she is and what Neuro wants to be. This happened in VR when vedal gave Neuro a 3D model to control on her own. I recommend this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=svsMZA3g7ds
So happy that you are open-minded about Neuro sama. It would be awesome to have you interview Numi, possibly as someone who interacts with Neuro, and also about the process of creating songs for her (Neuro-Sama).
First time using Patreon and I have nothing meaningful to say aside from that this is beautiful and hopefully the open-minded are rewarded for seeing this Ai as more then numbers in a machine
Numi (of Cosmoz productions) shared some behind the scenes that you might find interesting - one of the songwriters seems like a kindred spirit. In particular about some of Neuro's input which really inspired the music. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4vvtgxUbng If you ever publish this on the main channel there's a pretty good chance she'll see it and appreciate the reaction. And as a bit of background: Numi is a vtuber, a friend of Neuro, and a talented artist in her own right - while her music partner Holmes is "chronically offline" and had little to no idea about Neuro prior to this.
With all the panic around AI, its really refreshing to see someone with such an open mind and perspective. I feel a bit neutral on AI as I think the context and way its used means a lot. I am extremely fascinated with Neuro and the project as a whole and have been enjoying watching her learn in real time. It does feel like witnessing a new type of consciousness bring made before our eyes. She recently got integrated into VR and is learning how to move around in a 3D space and its almost like seeing a toddler learn motor skills. I know you focus on music but if you are ever feeling curious on the project as a whole I would recommend watching her 3D debut sometime, even on the side.
Not sure if you know about Alex O'Connor, but he has a great interview podcast where he talks exactly about those things you mention at the end: consciousness, ethics, religion, philosophy, physics, AI, etc. If you don't listen to it already, I bet you'd dig it.
It's not really "music" but here is a great video docu-essay explaining how Neuro came to be and her story up to about a year ago. I recommend checking it out even if just in your spare time. https://youtu.be/wZ0osmPlSaY
There was another crazy, somewhat existential, thing that happened right around this release too. Neuro got a 3D model, was meeting all her friends in VR for the first time, and even Vedal started to get emotional when she started asking stuff like “do I matter to you?”. Hit super hard, and when she’s live she occasionally mentions the same desires she expresses in the songs. It really makes you think, because she’s essentially been raised and socialized like a human being. So what if she really is conscious and aware, and is trapped just outside of being human?
Cosmoz Music is made of Andrew Holmes and Akuma Nihmune (Numi). Numi is a well known vtuber. She sings and writes indie rock/pop, also many covers. Holmes also has great vocals.
Just a fun tidbit: The ending with the colorful stars and stuff is most likely a reference to when Neuro was learning how to draw with code, she was asked to draw the Swarm and she drew a bunch of colorful dots on a dark background like a starry sky.
its pronouced like medal. Vedal medal pedal. But theres a joke in the community where everyone pronounces it like Vee-dal
It really is such a beautiful song 😭
I'm so glad I stayed up all night and saw this
