I've been pronouncing it "Baaahng" with the long AAA sound, but hearing him pronounce it himself as 'bang' (/bæŋ/) it actually makes perfect sense. I mean, he grew up in Australia and they don't really do those long AAA sounds there. I say this as someone who's significant other is Australian haha. Really happy to see you are doing more Stray Kids! I only got into them a few weeks back myself and this is a favorite of mine. I am falling in love with all the members for different reasons. I always love your reactions! I hope to see you do Chk Chk Boom in the future! Just because that's my personal favorite and I am of course selfish lol.

You can just call Bang Chan "Chris" or "Chan". Chris has said he is fine with any of his names he goes by, but he does prefer Chris, his birth name, or just Chan. Also, the members mostly call him just Chan. Chan is pronounced like it rhymes with "can". I just call him Chris because it is his birth name and also it helps me not misspeak when referring to him or Changbin, which having two "Chan" sounding names made me call Chris Changbin sometimes by mistake when first getting to know the group. LOL So, Chris it is! And it is more comfortable to say as an English speaker. So, when it comes to names, Chris is the simplest name for him with the least amount of issues when it comes to how different fans think it is pronounced.

Love and appreciate the breakdowns. I literally joined Patreon just so I can listen to your stuff more! Definitely suggest Deep End by Felix for a good idea of his voice. It’s a solo song and it’s in English.

About song structure and using silence with unusual noises, the 'Charge (Fanfare)' in Monsta X 'Hero' at around 1:50 min. before the rap part always gets me and I feel the need to yell out 'Charge' like at a baseball or hockey game. 😁 https://youtu.be/FZ9lJ5ctd0s?si=6naCzS8kWUSK3ZDp

When it comes to deep voices in KPop, I would say Felix is one of a kind. There are some idols with deep voices, but not at Felix's level and definitely not used as predominant as Felix is. Leedo from ONEUS comes to mind, Wyatt from ONF and Haruto from Treasure. Not necessarily a very deep voice, but very distinguishable would be Mingi from AZEEZ, I would say. When it comes to girl groups definitely YuQi from i-dle ist very unique for a lower female voice. Especially since many KPop girl groups songs usually are in a very high pitch.

I was going to say this, of course! When he said "Of the groups you've shown me, no one else has a deep voice like this," I thought, "well, you've still only heard one song each from ATEEZ and ONEUS...and theirs are rappers, so it's not as obvious as Felix."

If you are interested, the clip of Bang Chan's introduction you showed in the beginning is from the interview with him and Felix on the Daebak Show with Eric Nam, who is fluent in English, since he grew up in the US and moved to Korea after his College graduation to start a career as a singer. https://youtu.be/DrFzn0sUetw?si=UJAm8vP67MguABi5 The show usually has idols as guests, who are fluent in English, since the show is done in English for an American/international audience. E.g. Jackson Wang had a two part episode this year. Dive Studios also has other content with English speaking idols as hosts like Peniel from BTOB, BM from KARD or Ashley Choi (former Ladies Code member) e.g. where they talk about idol live in general..

I love how understandable your breakdowns are. I have a bit of a background in classical music but honestly zero clue about anything that has to do with production or singing and I can follow your explainations effortlessly and feel like Im learning a little something new every time. Just like Savallion I allways felt like Maniac had something weird (In a good way) about it but could never point my finger on why that was.

I think you briefly mixed up Lee Know, thinking he was Seungmin (that nice high note near the beginning) but they are all wearing the same shirt in that scene to indicate that they are "cosplaying as normal people" and have very similar hair so it's not really your fault 😂 Seungmin and Lee Know both have beautiful high notes but I feel like Seungmin's vocals have a distinct flavor that you'll probably come to recognize. I am not sure musically how to describe it. Once again, loved the reaction 👏🏻 Thank you Tim. It also fits very well with the meaning of the song when you describe these WEIRD parts in the structure. The song, and in fact the album ODDINARY, are about being your weird self and not conforming to what you think is "normal", like you said. So the fact that they made this song a little extra weird makes a lot of sense and I don't think I really understood HOW it was weird before your reaction. Also since you expressed interest in the new trailer they dropped I thought you might also be interested in the trailer they released before the ODDINARY / MANIAC album came out. It's essentially a short film that was meant to get people hyped for the album. It doesn't actually include any of their music, but it shows the concept and style they were going for here. I love this trailer, and it breaks my heart that it isn't actually a trailer for, like, an upcoming Netflix Original series. I would watch 10 seasons of whatever this is: https://youtu.be/qaaywl-6H4o?si=_rVlDlE9i6cQjdQD

for Bang Chan's name, I think it's a matter of dialect. People who have more of a Korean background usually pronounce it with the long A "baahng" and people with more of an English background usually do more of a "bang" like onomatopoeia for shooting a gun. There are also variations on nicknames. Bang Chan himself doesn't *seem* to be particularly concerned about it and like in that interview he does seem to change it based on who he is talking to (if I remember right, that interview was with someone who also spoke fluent English). There's also a silly moment from years ago where an interviewer asks "whats your favorite side dish" to Felix, which the word for "side dish" in Korean is a very similar word to Bang Chan (I think it's romanized as banchan but don't come at me if I'm wrong). So in that case they REALLY push the Korean pronunciation (link here: https://www.tiktok.com/@suityoongi/video/7082466339184643374)
