Any Singers Here?
I'm fully aware that many of you enjoy the 'edutainment' of my channel, but are not actually interested in learning how to sing yourselves. I also know that some of you ARE singers here as well.
As you know, I've been teaching voice for a long time and I not only make reaction content, but I have an academic 15 hour training course and certification program that I created which my instructors have to pass before we officially bring them on board.
I've spent the last 25 years solving vocal issues and have lots of knowledge around that topic, I don't share that deep academic technical stuff here, and I'm wondering if there is interest or not.
In addition to my vocal analyses, do you want 'How to Sing' vocal technique videos here as well?
Some examples would be, 'How to Breath for Singers,' 'Singing High Notes,' 'How to Activate Vibrato,' 'Grit Vocal Technique' 'Custom Vocal Warmups' etc.
PLEASE BE HONEST! 🙏
Cheers,
Tim
*Heading to the city today to chill and have some adventures, more reactions coming tomorrow!

Yes please! Also, I was in a extracurricular choir for a number of years and as a trans-masc person, when my voice dropped after starting testosterone, I had lost my head voice. My choir director kind of had me in my own voice range between tenor and baritone. I would be interested in exploring how to, if I can, reclaim some head voice.
I'm in a place where I would like to learn to sing but I don't really know where to start. I sang in choir as a child, but in my experience with public school choir, they didn't really get into technique or explain anything. You just kind of... do it and no one cares if you aren't very good because you're a child 😂 Flash forward to now, I've gotten really interested in the craft of singing and reactions where vocal teachers like you explain things with words that are becoming familiar (vocal fold closure, the different vocal registers, etc) but I never learned what it means to DO those things. At the same time I have so many hobbies/jobs already and I don't plan on doing anything WITH the skill of singing, so it feels silly to pursue any kind of structured training. All this to say - I wouldn't say no to some beginner level singing videos. Singing for Dummies, if you will 😂
I want "How to sing" content that is authentic (no autotune) where the voice coach is not full of himself. It is harder to find than I expected.
Challenge accepted! lol.
I don't sing; I tell myself I can't. But I want to get past that! More 'How to Sing' content could nudge me in the right direction.
Here as a beatboxer, I've been loving the bbx reactions, obv, and the lesson with remix was super interesting and helpful in some ways too. So I would appreciate some singing "techniques" as well, yeah.
I can only speak for myself. I'm not a singer or musician (I just started playing Ukulele 4 months ago). But even as a non-musician it gives me so much to learn about music and the techniques of creating sounds. It helps to appreciate songs more and to understand why some songs are better than others.
I love the ukulele. I've been playing for fifteen years and own six ukuleles (two sopranos, two tenors, one baritone and one bass), it's such a wonderful instrument and so easy to get into. Surprisingly versatile too. It's a really great place to start for someone who wants to get into music. I hope you stick with it. :)
I don’t know if you or any of your colleagues have experience working with people who have jaw, nose and sinus differences caused by birth defects like I do but I’d still love any tips
I’ve auditioned for a few musicals in the past but being born with a cleft lip and palate caused problems in my speech development which has impacted my confidence over the years. Now that I’m through the worst of my corrective surgeries I’d love to learn more singing, even if it’s largely for my own amusement
Given how well you're able to explain certain aspects of vocal timbre and coloring, I genuinely think a lot of folks would benefit from explanations around the more technical aspects of singing!
I love karaoke and used to sing more before my vocal chords suffered through laryngitis and other illnesses over the years. So anything to improve my karaoke skills is interesting to me!! 😆😊❤️
YES!
Honestly, my grandmother went to church with you and had wanted me to do online lessons with you for YEARS, but I hated the idea of virtual instruction. After watching a bunch of recent videos, I’d LOVE more educational content!
I'd be happy for more instructive content. As a vocal coach just starting out, seeing how other people more experienced than I am do things is incredibly valuable.
I used to be in choir when I was in middle school, and I loved it, but I don’t think I ever picked anything up. I’d love some “how to” videos :3
I'm here for both
It would be awesome to sound good while singing songs out loud, since with working from home I can finally be as loud as I want! WHOO HOO!!! 🤘
I said yes, not because I have any interest in learning to sing correctly myself but because I think that watching the "how tos" would certainly help increase my understanding of what the singers in your reactions are doing.
I am a big fan of your dedication to learning Gaye! We share that.
Yes please. I used to sing and be in the booth, but parents killed those dreams quick. I've still be singing, just personally 24/7. Everyone who knows me, knows music is my life
I voted no, only because I'm not a performer/ don't sing in any kind of formal setting. I do sing for my own enjoyment (and to harass my kids...ok not really, but I try to get them to sing with me because I think being able to sing on a basic level is good for all humans), mostly at home and in the car. I listen to the technique of singers I like and experiment to see if I can do the same. So if it was an additional paid tier I don't think I would pay extra for it, but if it was available to be I would probably watch and see what I could pick up.
Great information, Sharon. Thank you!
I'm not really a singer but I don't want to vote no and downplay potential content you might make for those who are singers. So I'm just gonna reply here that I'm here for the education/analysis, but think it would be great if you offered lessons for those with the vocal ability!
YES!! Please please please!! I love to sing but i do it with zero technique therefore i sing bad, and I'm too socially anxious for getting a course or a teacher that i don't connect with here in my country and as English is not my first language it would be hard to take one online with the people i would like to bc even if i can comprehend 100% of a video that's in English I can't talk in a conversation, so videos like that would be so cool!!!!
I 100% REALTE TO YOU
Enjoy the city! Its BEAUTIFUL today in nyc and get back home before the storm!
It could be interesting! I enjoy singing as a hobby but have zero technique whatsoever.
I was in the choir of my high school, and took additional voice lessons all four years. I loved and still do love singing! I haven't had a teacher in 16 years, and I know I've gotten very rusty. Too shy for getting a teacher again, though. I would LOVE to see videos on singing techniques!
i'm a self taught, but I would enjoy seeing this kind of content!
This would be amazing. I have a hard time with them sometimes but the way you explain them makes so much more sense!
I love to sing and I used to sing very well. After 4 years of testosterone, my voice has changed so much I have a hard time carrying a tune. Singing has always come naturally to me. My first time in a true choir, I didn't have the guts to audition until my senior year, I was placed directly into the women's chorus instead of the general choir anyone can join. Now I feel like I need to relearn how to sing. I was supposed to take a vocal class this semester, but I had to move to an online school after relocating to an isolated area. So no class for me, and I can't afford vocal lessons. I used to be a between a soprano and alto. Now I think I've landed somewhere between baritone and bass. Can't sing as high as the full baritone range, but struggle with the lower bass ranges.
I more or less taught myself to sing through imitation, which means I can do several different techniques but I have no way of knowing if I’m doing them properly
for me the real struggle is not knowing if your singing is actually good or not, I have not sung in public (except for my former students who were 8-9 year old) for a long time unless my voice can be drowned out by volume of the speakers 🫣 might give some confidence to have some more educational content to lean on 👌
I'm a singer.
🙌🔥 what style of singing is your preference, or do you sing multiple styles?
Would be greatly appreciated! Just a siggestopm that would be important for me: I personally have a far easier time connecting with educational content if it has a 'system' so to speak. Especially if stuff builds on each other. Basically a "learning path" but more simply just a playlist in whatever order you would think the order of importance :) I would of course still watch and learn from the ivdeos without it, would just be a cherry on top!
I've been singing my whole life and have been a big choir nerd for over a decade, and only have 2 semesters of vocal lessons under my belt from college. I would love to see some vocal technique videos!!
I’ve been singing in my school choir since 5th grade and i’m now a senior about to graduate! I absolutely love singing and thats why i enjoy your channel so much!
That would be super cool!! I used to be in choir when I was younger, but we didn’t go over a lot of that and just focused on hitting notes. Learning actual techniques would be super cool! Love the idea!
