If you react to the opening song When I See Him, make sure you watch the version of the song with the actor reactions filming the audio- it’s hilarious! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yXJRpH7t3_c Easter egg/details: The third way to enter the human realm requires just having a great deal of power- Stolas still can open a portal to the human world if you remember, even though Octavia had stolen the book to go see the “stars” in Los Angelos in S2E2. But that level of power is extremely rare and inferred to be only available to the demonic royalty and even then not all of them. Stolas’s powers, if you read up on the demon he’s based on, it makes sense for him to be able to do that, whereas others it doesn’t. Lots of amusing little signs of how far the Cherubs have fallen are easy to miss. Cleetus, looking at Blitz and Fizz forklifting out the “dragon driller”, mumbles “deeearrrr gooooddd”- notice that Keenie (the yellow lamb female) who smacked Collin in S1E6 for “taking the Lord’s name in vain” didn’t even seem to notice. Cleetus also uses profanity- “let’s go kick some ass!” Both Cleetus and Keenie have gotten a little violent/let violence in their lives. These poor Cherubs have been on earth waayyyy too long at this point. Collin, the purple lamb, is the only one that seems to still be super reluctant and not okay with things, and I wonder if we’ll see a redemption plot for him. Something I never seen called out in the reaction videos and such is how the entire premise of the first half of the episode with context of Blitz is him not only thinking he “needs” to go find fun stuff to do with Stolas, but he genuinely seems to be excited and want to do/get things that he’d like, as if he’s genuinely wanting to make him happy. If you remember in S1E6, in the song “In the House of Osmodeus” there’s a part of the song where Verosika Mayday (the pink succubus that was his ex) sings, “I used to date him / I’d stroke and I’d felate him / but when it was my turn / there was no reciprocating / a selfish imp in the sheets / and just as bad in the streets / a reckless heartbreaking thief” . It’s well established that Blitz, as a partner, is very self-centered and focuses on his own pleasure and is rarely engaged in the pleasure of others. Yet we have an entire first half of the episode where he is shopping at least 3 different stores to pick things up, even turns down certain things that Stolas doesn’t seem into, and when he brings his bag of “goodies” over the balcony edge he seems genuinely excited to show off all the cool swag he’s brought to have a good time with Stolas. Slight subtle easter egg- remember that in S2E1, Blitz threw the bag of stuff DOWN off the balcony ledge to his dad, Cash. In this episode, he actually did the reverse, throwing the bag of stuff UP onto the balcony in a nice little poetic symbolism. He could have totally used the door at this point- Stella's moved out- but no, he basically reversed his thievery of as a kid. Another thing I rarely see called out in the reaction videos I’ve watched is that Blitz cussing Stolas out and refusing to drop the conversation when Stolas tries to dismiss him is that this, in its own right, is a sign Stolas might have noticed that Blitz DOES have genuine feelings. Blitz cussing Stolas out and saying he won’t let Stolas just end things like that is a messed up, they-both-need-therapy way of him fighting for the relationship. He’s genuinely afraid of losing Stolas and doesn’t want it, and lashing out because his entire life he’s only had the ability to gain the emotional maturity of a six year old, but it’s still a real feeling. Most of the other easter eggs you caught (good job on the Loona suit! and reading billboards!) or are specific to the part of the fandom that sides with Blitz or Stolas more. Glad you enjoyed it and feel as emotionally whiplashed as the rest of us were!

BTW has anyone mentioned the "Helluva Boss shorts" to you? There's no songs that I can remember, but they're little 10 minute side stories that were released to give fans their fix while waiting for actual episodes, that were released monthly at the time. They continued after the season finale due to popularity. There's 8 of them, I think.

Based off the screenshot on the lore video, I'd maybe wait to watch until you finish this season.

I just love this episode, we are in this very effective light mood, with the CHERUB and Blitz doing shopping and the fight.. and THEN the ending hits you like a truck. They both ending out so broken and hurt. When Blitz says "I can always do better" my heart broke, he seems so little, almost childish. And Stolas is so into his head and his fantasy that can't see how Blitz need time and of course shuts down completely. It's so sad and true. By the way, "When I see him" is a personal favourite of mine, it's so good and fits the two personalities so well. You have to analyse the BTS version (it's on Vivzie channell)

Yeah, this episode was a lot. It's not uncommon when Helluva Boss episodes come out for me to watch them several times in the first couple days. By myself, with housemates, by myself again, various reaction videos... Full Moon was different. We knew for several episodes that Stolas was preparing for this, and we knew it had to go poorly (both because we have to milk it for maximum drama, and because Blitz and Stolas are in such different places mentally/emotionally). But seeing it unfold still hurt, and it took me a while to get to a place where I was ready to go through it again Another reactor I watch, Danny Motta, even ended up doing a lengthy livestream where he was picking apart past Stolas-Blitz interactions to try and unpack who was more at fault for their relationship going in the direction it did, etc. I think trying to pin blame misses a bit of the point, that these are emotionally damaged folks who are both struggling with healthy ways to effectively communicate their needs with partners who don't know enough to fully understand each other. But all the same, people really cared about the nuances of their relationship, which I found validating of my own investment in it. But hey, on a positive note, Blitz and Fizz are on good terms! Seeing that his best friend (who he had a crush on!) got twisted into a bitter rival of sorts because of an accident and misunderstanding, at a time when Blitz probably really needed a friend, is sad and probably caused a lot of his trauma. Seeing that they've reconciled enough to be on friendly terms is great because Blitz really needs a friend who isn't also an employee IMO

Oh wow, that’s wild. He went back!

Another great video! I got so excited when you uploaded it today! Not sure if you saw it but I left a comment last video with some lore breakdown I hope will help. Honestly I would love to one day be able to watch these with you live. Not sure if that’s something you’re able to do on here. You definitely have to watch these behind the scenes version of that song on here!! And the next couple of episodes are sooo good!! I can’t wait to see your reaction and break down of the songs!!🤩

Wonderful thanks so much!

The next episode has in my opinion the best stolas song in the whole show! Can't wait for you to hear it!

This ending hurts me every time I watch it. It's masterfully crafted. So good. Vivzie isn't the only writer on this show, btw. The show is her creation, but when she contacted Brandon Rogers to play Blitz, it wasn't just for his voice but also for his creativity and humour, and the two of them planned out and wrote season 1 together. For season 2 they got another writer onboard as well. Vivzie did write this particular episode, but if you look in the credits it says story by both her, Brandon and the third writer, Adam Neylan. I mention it because a lot of fans of the show seem to be under the impression that all creative and plot decisions are Vivienne's alone, for better or worse, but it is a collaborative effort.

Oh, that’s great to know thanks, Mike

"From there to there, I feel like crying... HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?!" You are emotionally invested in the characters! ONE OF US! ONE OF US! You got a look into Stolas' mindset from his side of the opening duet and the music video 'Look my way', and when he says: "I've wanted you for so long-" I think he is referring to seeing him as a child at the circus (Blitz was doing a trapeze act with Fizz and Stolas got all blushy/love at first sight). When they met again as adults and Blitz was trying to con his way into the stealing the grimoire (seduction), that had been Strolas's first experience of "passion" and Stolas imprinted that behavior as Blitz's preference (EXCESSIVE dirty talk and bondage). Blitz clearly didn't have as much emotional buildup in that first night, so when he hears Stolas go on and on with the dirty talk and being an absolute power bottom, he believes that that's all he's worth to him. Add in his own self-loathing and it's hard for him to believe anything else at this point. Keep those tissues handy for the next few episodes! ;3

The cherubs got kicked out of heaven in season 1 when they inadvertently caused the death of that elderly inventor. A piano fell on the dude when they were at an opera. Stunned silence followed by more stunned silence is how I reacted to the ending. I was afraid to move! And Brandon Rogers! That guy is fearless.

Yes!! Right.

One of the best episodes of Helluva so far, in my opinion! So I couldn't wait for you to get to this one. There is so much to unpack in the opening duet, which really shines a light on the characters state of mind and almost foreshadows their misunderstanding towards the end of the episode. Echoing what some other commenters have said, I think you'd really enjoy watching the behind the scenes video of the voice actors performing this. Brandon isn't a broadway singer but has such a distinctive voice as Blitz, and Bryce knocks it out of the park every time. Both of their performing styles are so different, it's a great watch!

If you EVER get the change, I'd love to see your reaction / deep analysis of the Behind the Scenes recordings of the opening song! It's just fun to watch as well! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yXJRpH7t3_c

We were all searching the lore videos when this came out also. I'm glad that you've gotten invested in this show! Helluva and Hazbin are very similar in the way they tug on your emotions and really get you to care about the characters. Every episode from here on has at least one song, so get ready!

Btw I remember when the season was ongoing, the fans got divided over this episode into TeamBlitz and TeamStolas. We waited for a month for the next one, and people would break spears over who had been right and wrong, more or less toxic in their relationship. I love that you saw a point in Blitz's rude and emotional reaction. They both have their defences... Would be nice for them to talk for once!

M
MikeTW · October 19, 2025

I've seen some of the fandom discourse around this stuff in YouTube comments and it's made me shy away from fandom spaces, tbh. Too much drama. I saw someone claim that the whole Stolitz relationship is just Vivzie "pushing her OTP", which is not only wildly inaccurate (she's not the only writer, she didn't make these decisions in a vacuum) but also a really weird way to talk about a writer. She created the show, she's not a member of the fandom. I'm baffled by the entitlement some people seem to feel about creators, as if they don't have the right to tell the stories they want to tell. Being unhappy with the direction a story takes is fine, but demanding an author abandon their vision is just... odd.

Anya · October 18, 2025

Aww, you're such a pure heart, Tim, it makes me really emotional watching you experiencing this. My wife and I made it our new tradition watch your reaction over dinner, it is so much joy — seeing someone with vast musical knowledge reliving things we, as show fans, already know by heart. Please, don't watch that particular lore video: from the thumbnail it seems that it includes major spoilers for the end of the season. Actually, as any lore video, because some sins will be revealed in ep.11.

Aww! Thank you for sharing that. 💛🙏😭💫

< / 3 This episode breaks my heart every time, it doesn't matter how many times I've seen it. It's so clever in how they set up the pacing for this episode. Most of it is funny and action packed, and then there's a hard emotional turn- makes the gut punch that much stronger but also really mirrors Blitzo's perspective. Also I miss Quiznos so much!!

L
Lisuna · October 18, 2025

Please do a longer reaction to the song at the start. Viv has a video on the YouTube channel were they show the scene from the show and the voice actors actually recording the song side by side, that would be perfect for a reaction ;) That's the link to it - > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yXJRpH7t3_c&t=170 Also, be prepared for more heartbreak in the upcoming episodes!

A
Anya · October 18, 2025

Yes, we need this reaction! The song is one of my favorites. Moreover, Brandon (VA Blitz) is not a singer (unlike many others), so I wonder what Tim's opinion on his attempt is.
