When this episode came out and I heard "Two Minutes Notice" for the first time, I started my path to retirement. My last few years in higher ed was spent in a highly toxic environment that grew progressively worse the closer I got to retirement. That song kept me grounded and sane. This episode is in my top five and made me full-on fan of Ozzie and Fizz and their incredibly healthy relationship.

This is my favourite episode, hands down. The fact that it treats us to four awesome songs (I do count Juggling Iz Cool because even though it's short it's super catchy) is part of it, but also Fizz has just become my favourite character on the show. He has so much sweetness and kindness in him. The scene with the little deaf kid where he signs just gets me every time. Also, I've become such a huge fan of Alex Brightman from his performances in both Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel, to the point where I've been listening to a bunch of other stuff he's done, such as the Beetlejuice musical. Vivzie rang him up based on his performance as Beetlejuice and asked him to do that voice for Fizzarolli. He ended up modifying it a little bit, pitching it up and making it a little more childish, but kept the rasp. What an incredibly talented singer he is! I can't wait for you to watch the next episode, and also looking forward to you watching all the Hazbin Hotel episodes. Watching other people be excited and getting invested in something I enjoy gives good feels. The Hellaverse I think fills a void for me as a queer person who grew up watching cartoons with zero representation of people like me. It was something I didn't really realise I'd been missing until I discovered this this year, at the age of 37. My inner child is healing, lol!

Hey! So I found you a while back but finally decided to join the Patreon to see your reaction to helluva boss! I’ve been loving and enjoying watching and listening to you for a while now and I just wanna nerd out and give you some more lore info! (Though I do think you just gotta watch one full of lore - preferably with us lol). So first, there are 7 rings in hell (think the 7 deadly sins). Geographically there are all stacked on top of each other. So in these shows Hazbin Hotel will mostly go over the lives of the sinners (people from earth who died and went to hell) while Helluva Boss goes over the lives of hell-born demons. The first ring is the ring of Pride. This ring belongs to the head honcho Lucifer himself (the fallen angel). This ring is the only ring that contains sinners and is where IMP (their main business) is located so sinners can go and hire them. Sinners are not allowed to leave the pride ring. Stolas also lives here. You can differentiate it by its red sky. The next ring under this is Wrath. This is lead by Satan. This ring is where imps originate from. They were meant to be considered a cheap labor force and are second from the bottom on the social hierarchy chain. Now imps have moved all over and have mixed with other species so you are likely to see different types of imps with different types of genetic features and likely to find them everywhere.you will still typically see them with their red skin, tail, and horns. Their horns will also look different based on their gender. Males have thick white lines with black when females tend to have thin white lines and mostly black horns. We have seen some trans representation through this including Millie’s sister discussed in the harvest moon festival episode. The Wrath rings sky is orange and their “sun” is a floating ball of lava coming out of volcanos. Next ring is Gluttony and this is run by Queen Bee (Beelzebub) who sang Cotton Candy. This ring is home to Hell hounds who are at the very bottom of the social hierarchy. The sky here is a soft yellow. Next ring is Greed and this is run by Mammon (the big clown guy). This ring is home to the shark demons (loan sharks, get it?). The sky here is Green. This is also where Moxxie’s dad lives. Beneath that ring is Lust which is run by Ozzie (Asmodeus). Here is where you will find the succubi like Verosika Mayday (the pink pop star). You can tell them apart by their pink skin, wings, heart tipped tail, and the types of horns they have. Succubi are some of the only demons that can freely and legally traverse between earth and hell utilizing Asmodeon crystals (which we saw Blitzo use when he was looking for his sister). The sky in this ring is dark blue. Ozzie and Fizz live in this ring and we saw the club owned by Ozzie in a season one episode when Moxxie and Millie celebrate their one year marriage anniversary. Next is Envy which is lead by Leviathan. We actually haven’t seen this ring in the show yet, but we have seen the demons from here. These demons tend to look like fish. Glitz and Glam (the clown twins) originate from this ring. The sky for this ring is supposed to be purple. Lastly we have Sloth which is run by Belphegor (Bel). This ring is home to the candle demons and usually is where all their healthcare is. So the vet/hospital and the rehab we saw in previous episodes were all in this ring. The sky for this ring is pink. Next bit of lore is the hierarchy. So at the top we have Lucifer and his family. Next it’s the seven deadly sins that run each ring. Next it’s the Ars Goetia. This would be Stolas. So Stolas is one of many princes in the Geotia family all fathered by their King Paimon (his dad we saw in the back story). Next would be the overlords (which are from Hazbin Hotel and are considered especially powerful sinners). Then the sinners themselves. Then the hell born which are the succubi and all the other demons. Lastly we have Imps and then Hell Hounds. So I hope this explains why there is such a large chasm between Blitzo and Stolas. It’s also why Fizz and Ozzie were originally hiding their relationship and why Fizz felt like he wasn’t good enough if he wasn’t Mommons brand Clown. The deadly sins and ars goetia are considered demon royalty and cannot be killed by regular means. This is why Blitzo was shocked when Stolas got hurt. There are weapons that are being sold illegally made from angels and only these weapons are able to hurt demon royalty. Now quick clarification is that Stolas is higher on the hierarchy that his wife (Stella) and her brother (Andrealphus). He is an actual price fathered by Paimon whereas they are not and Andrealphus is considered a Marquis in the hierarchy. Lastly Stella and he are based off of peacocks which is why he is so flashy and she is more neutral in tone. So bird demons typically make up the Goetia. The deadly sins are immortal and have been around since the creation of Hell (which happened when Lucifer fell from heaven). Also fun little fact this powers tend to be based on their ring colors so when Fizz is singing two minutes notice most of the stuff is blue because Ozzie is helping him. And after he quits the spotlight on him switches from green for Mammon to blue for Ozzie. During the song some of Mammon’s sigils also switch to Ozzie’s. (The royal demons have their own sigils to be summoned, you saw the sins on the timestamp/cover on their respective episodes on YouTube and we saw Stolas when he appeared on earth to save IMP from the government). Lastly (tho there is so much lore I haven’t gone over), when imps get injured, their body scars over white. When Blitzo accidentally caused that fire as a teenager, he caused to many issues with his family and friends. Barbie (his sister) hates him as their mother died due to the first and he was always the least successful of the two. Also they are twins. Fizz’s whole body except for his nose and some patches here and there are scared from the accident which is why his skin is mostly white. He also had to get robotic limbs as he lost his and his horns in the fire. There is honestly so much to unpack and learn about this world and the characters within them. I hope someday you can go back and rewatch them for leisure and try to catch all the background stuff, especially now that you know more about the story. It is so cool listening to you break down the songs and music and genuinely enjoying this world. Thank you and sorry this was so long.

Great lore breakdown! Just wanted to add that the Ars Goetia is actually the name of an actual 17th century grimoire that's also known as the Lesser Key of Solomon, which lists 72 demons that exist in a hierarchy going from kings to dukes to princes to marquises to earls to knights and lastly presidents. There are actually nine kings in the Ars Goetia, including Paimon and also in fact Asmodeus, so he's originally a Goetic demon as well. Stolas, Andrealphus, and Vassago (who shows up later this season) are all listed in the Ars Goetia too. Stolas is described as taking the form of an owl or raven and Andrealphus as taking the form of a white peacock, just like in the show. (Stella isn't in the Ars Goetia, but that said, I believe Vivzie has said she's supposed to be modelled after a secretary bird and not a peahen.)

Binged your reactions over the last day so I'll put my brain dump here. It's a lot of fun to see this clicking with you so well even if you don't watch a lot of animated stuff. Western animation is usually aimed at the teen and younger demographic, and even most of the "adult" animation is mostly just aiming to be crude comedy without a ton of emotional depth or nuanced characters. There are exceptions, but even then, most of those are sanitized enough to be suitable for children. In fewer words, it's rare to have an animated show where characters can unpack their trauma, have a sincere reaffirmation of their love, and then someone's head gets exploded. For me, it's refreshing to feel so seen. Not just because I relate to some aspects of some characters, but because the show largely adheres to my sensibilities. I'm a grown-ass man in my late 30s, I curse like a sailor and revel in raunch... and also sing along to musicals when I'm not sobbing my eyes out. This show gives me so much to look at, listen to, and feel. And yeah I know how sappy that sounds, but I think you get it. It's weird to feel emotionally invested in the friendships and fuckbuddies of any fictional character, much less a smart-mouthed self-hating demon, but here we are. I'm sure you've noticed by now but the number (and, I think, quality) of songs has slowly increased as the show has gone on. This episode was particularly musical, so don't expect it to operate on this level for every episode, but I think the songs they do give us are pretty satisfying and we get so much variety. Another fun aside, now that the show is on Prime Video, there are dubs in around a dozen different languages, and those include the songs. I won't promise that every singer is on equal footing, but given the musical variety we have, I think it's quite interesting that we can hear them performed in different languages. K-pop but performed by German singers? Stolas' lullaby in Russian? A Japanese man singing/shouting "Fuck you" a dozen times in 3 minutes? The options are endless!

Easter eggs I don't see mentioned: 1) Go back and re-watch the "Women just aren't funny," you see for just a second the credits for Viv flash. 2) Glitz and Glam are... clown fish! ("I'm a klown bitch!") Because they are from Envy which has an aquatic theme. 3) Remember that the Ozzie and Fizz relationship was under cover until then ("the worst kept secret in Hell") because Ozzie as the Sin of Lust is supposed to deride genuine love. 4) His nickname is Fizzy-frog by Ozzie because imps are derisively called "fire frogs" (think of all the times you've seen Blitz's eyes do a side-to-side blink, go back and rewatch S1 E8 when Loona is taking him home drunk in the car for an example); so he calls him Fizzy-frog. Also, the "froggie little flips" "ribbit!" 5) It's all but clearly called out that Ozzie is the reason Fizzy has so many robotic prosthetics to replace the limbs so greviously damaged in the fire. 4) Wally Wackford is in most of the S1 episodes and is in this episode again. I always call Crooked the song that feels very Hootie and the Blowfish-y. It's understated but one of my favorite. Make sure when you react to S2 E8 on your next reaction, that you not only do the episode, but save any breakdown of the first song you run into to react to the re-released version that shows the voice actors recording the audio for the song, it's HILARIOUS seeing their body language and facial expression as they're doing the lines to really deliver a great experience to us as the consumers! Cant wait for you to get to Hazbin Hotel too. BTW a little detail you may notice, In Helluva Boss the songs are usually more grounded in the world, i.e. a concert, kids singing in class, tripping balls, playing on the radio, some other way of them being acknowledged in the world itself or used as a background score whereas in Hazbin the songs are more musical theater "break out into song" style. So the Helluva Boss songs are often cut off or shorter while the songs in Hazbin are more full.

I think the reason Blitz didn't shoot that guy initially and knocked him out instead was because he saw Fizz on the verge of a panic/anxiety attack. In the circus episode when they were kids, Fizz mentioned he hates blood and that he thinks it's gross, so Blitz might have thought shooting him then would make things worse.

You were correct - the beginning of the episode was in the past. It was a flashback to before the circus accident that Fizz lost his limbs to.

Great reaction! Remember the Look My Way musical video just before the next episode cause it's a part of the story. And in the start of the next episode there would be a really fun song that you could react independently after the show with a very fun Behind the scene material. I'm sure you will liked it because you will have an opportunity to analize voice actors during their work. This is the link to this version for an "expert" reaction. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yXJRpH7t3_c

I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve gone from laughing to getting choked up while watching this series. So many tears, both happy and sad. I’m so glad you enjoyed “2 Minutes Notice”! Just before the song, I was like “this is going to be awesome!!” lol When I first heard it, I was so blown away that I almost gave a standing ovation to my TV. Just when I think they can’t top themselves, they surprise me.

"I don't watch cartoons... well I do now." Haha, they get you like that. If you want another cartoon that's very silly and very music focused with the same surprisingly emotional edge I really really recommend Centaurworld. Not a lot of people talk about it, but it is phenominal and blew me away as a cartoon and musical theatre enthusiast!

I was waiting so much for this episode! Can't wait to watch. Edit: Oh I work in the AI field (usage, not making it) and let me tell you: That bubble is already bursting. AI can only do a very small set of things and of those even fewer are any decent. It's after all a glorified auto-correct, giving you what it thinks is most likely to be wanted (not needed). AI can by definition not replace artistic instinct, because AI can only recreate stuff that already exists. That's why until a few months ago it couldn't create an image of a full glass of wine, because there is almost no training data on it, so how would it be able to? It is not intelligent (thats just marketing)

This one always gets me in my feels too, and is also one of my favorites in the series so far! Oz and Fizz's relationship is so sweet. It's so refreshing to have such well-written and realistic examples of healthy relationships in this show (like Moxxie and Millie too) juxtaposed with Blitzo and Stolas's dysfunction.

C
Claire Eiteman · October 8, 2025

This is one of my favorite episodes!! Here's some info on the social structure and power hierarchies of the hellaverse since you seemed curious at some parts of the episode: The seven deadly sins are the most powerful beings in hell, each is the ruler of their subsequent ring, the more powerful sins ruling higher rings and less powerful ruling lower rings. Lucifer is the king of pride (top ring) and the most powerful in all of hell, and his family is also in this top power level with him (Charlie and Lilith). Other sins we've met: Ozzie/Asmodeus is the king of Lust, Mammon is the king of Greed, and Queen Bee/Beelzebub is the ruler of Gluttony (sang the cotton candy song). We see the rest of the sins in later episodes of season 2. Below the sins on the hierarchy is demon royalty/Ars Goetia. This includes Stolas and other royalty, like Stella and Octavia. They are also very powerful but not as powerful as the sins. In the level just below hells royalty is the overlords. There are not many named in Helluva Boss, but we have met many overlords in Hazbin hotel: Alastor, Vox, Carmilla Carmine, etc. They are not as powerful as the sins or royalty, but have achieved greater power than other demons due to owning the souls of demons through deal-making: the more souls they own, the more powerful they are. In the lowest levels of the hierarchy is sinners (humans who die and end up in hell), and the hellborn like imps and hellhounds. Shockingly, sinners are actually higher in the social/power hierarchy than imps, and imps' low status explains a lot of the prejudice against imps shown in the show and how it could be seen as very taboo for example that an imp might be in a relationship with a Sin or demon royalty! Sorry for all the womansplaining and long paragraphs😂 I find the world building that Vivienne has done extremely interesting though, and a lot of the social hierarchy and power dynamics actually end up being pretty important to the characters' development and plot lines! Great reaction, glad you are enjoying it and can't wait to see more!

A
Alissa Schell · October 8, 2025

You laid this out perfectly, the social structure and themes of classism are soooo important, especially as we get into the last part of season 2 with Blitz and Stolas's arc!!

•
•☽Tessaraꨄ︎Scorpia☾• · October 8, 2025

have your tissues ready going forward xD as the music increases so do the emotions. A good tip going forward you will know what Ring they are in, based on the color of the Sky. Pride is Red Sky, Orange is Wrath, Yellow is Gluttony, Green is Greed, Blue is Lust, Envy is Purple, and Sloth is Pink. Each will have a King/Queen of that Sin, and you will meet them all together soon!

C
Chiara · October 8, 2025

For clarification: Fizz and Blitz grow up in the circus together and the scene at Mammon concert is when they were teens, then 15 years ago (when they were around 17-18-19 years old, we don't know for sure) the fire happened and in that accident Blitz’s mother died, Blitz got his scars and Fizz lost all his limbs and horns and got scarred (and had his voice ruined too). In the last episode they reconnected and become friends again. I was looking for your reaction to this episode, is great and I love Fizz and you're right is so good to see Blitz and Fizz friends again ❤️ I can't wait for your analysis of the songs! And about that, before you go to the next episode, you should react and analyse the music video Look My Way, a great fan song made it canon in the show, with Bryce Pink ham (Stolas VA) at his best https://youtu.be/rATbtwj1qls?si=Ce7jQN3j3EGeq7g9 P.S. don't worry we all cried watching Halluva Boss, and in upcoming episodes you'll cry harder, it's absolutely normal
