Rakehell
This one started as a pretty spontaneous idea. I did not have the whole design planned out from the beginning, but I did have my OC Demian in mind while making it, and at some point the name Rakehell just felt right.
Although, technically, it probably suits an earlier version of him much better than the person he is now. I even made him look a little younger for the photos, with shorter hair and no scar, just to commit to the timeline 🤭
Before the events of the game, he was much more indulgent in general. He liked nice clothes, expensive things and all the pleasures that came with finally being able to afford them. He grew up with very little and had to make his own way in life, so presentation eventually became important to him. Even then, though, I never imagined him as particularly flashy. He likes luxury in good materials, beautiful details and things that are obviously well made, rather than anything loud or overly showy.
After losing his memories and everything that followed, he became much more restrained. Calmer, less interested in excess, and in some ways even more modest. His appreciation for beautiful clothes never really disappeared, though, which is extremely convenient for his mother ( yours truly 😁).
I think the design ended up sitting somewhere between those two versions of him. There is still some vanity and sensuality in it, but nothing too obvious. Most of the outfit is fairly covered, and the fitted silhouette, decorative leather, different textures and smaller glimpses of skin do most of the work. I actually planned a deeper neckline at first, but ended up making it more restrained because I liked the balance much better this way.
I saw it as something for a rogue rather than actual armor too. The silhouette is relatively light, while most of the leather is there for the shape, texture and contrast it adds rather than any serious protective purpose.
Most of the project came together surprisingly easily. The trousers, boots, gloves and smaller elements were all things I felt good about almost immediately. The top was the exception. I originally planned a shirt with a leather vest, moved away from that idea, and eventually ended up making two different variants instead of forcing myself to choose.
One of my favorite things about the final result is the balance. There are a lot of little details and different materials, but I do not feel like any of them are fighting for attention. I love mixing rougher fabrics, leather, metal and more delicate ornamentation, and I think everything works together here without becoming too busy.
I also learned quite a lot while making this and tried a few new things on the technical side, so the whole process was really valuable for me.
But more than anything, I am genuinely very proud of this project. I am usually extremely critical of my own work, and even when I like something, I can normally find some little thing that bothers me or feels like it is missing.
I do not really have that feeling with this one.
Right now, this is the project I am proudest of. And considering how good I am at finding things to criticize in my own work, I think that says quite a lot 🖤

Awww, thank you so much!! 🥹❤️ Fun fact, Demian originally had short black hair with red highlights! Which is actually pretty funny, considering I've been obsessed with men with long white hair since I was about 12 haha His current look happened almost by accident! I was working on a crown mod and decided to experiment with a completely different aesthetic. I dressed him in white, gave him a crystal crown and long white hair just for fun. But I ended up loving it so much, and people really loved the screenshot I shared on Nexus too! So the look just stuck, and now I genuinely can't imagine him any other way! 🖤
