I kind of get where they are coming from saying things like she should have blocked her or not picked up her call but it’s harder than you think. I am actually working in childcare right now and I kind of relate to this story so much. It’s not this extreme but there are some parents who are nitpicking about every little thing. Even I am thinking of quitting this industry cuz I feel like this job is not for me. I really love children and love working together with them. But I think my personality is not suited for this job. I am kind of like this teacher. I cannot be firm when a parent comes this aggressively. I try to take my stand but then I get intimidated. Everyone tells me I am too soft hearted. There was even a period when I used to cry before going to my work cuz I was having that much of a hard time mentally rather than physically. After that I changed the centre. It’s a bit better but I cannot see myself working in this industry for a long time.
Im with u guys gosh ive never been more enraged watching a show ever ohmygod this mum got on my nerves so bad
Plus the ‘just quit your job and get a new job as a teacher?’ Idk man maybe consider that not everywhere in the world works the same way and not everyone’s reality is your reality? Once u get fired due to basically your ‘incompetence’ in this kind of situation? Do u think u can get a new job easily ESPECIALLY as an educator? Maybe if she’s someone who works as a freelancer or content creator or idk .. maybe that could be valid But in this case ? Idk this comment just seems ignorant to say the least .. plus cultural context matters too , especially in south korea reputation matters a lot and as a teacher once words gets out how u are a terrible teacher that ruins kids life , having that accusation on your back, do u think u can still get accepted as being a teacher ? .. adding the fact that cancel culture there is so extreme too .. Idk im just thinking that maybe if im reacting to this , id try to voice out my opinion but maybe atleast acknowledge that there are nuances that i might not be getting due to my lack of knowledge of their culture or how things work there ?
Blocking a parent could result to even worse outcomes for her career .. as u can see in the episode look at what extent the mother was even willing to go to punish her ? Idk .. i just felt like there’s a lot of victim blaming going on in this reaction .. plus adding the fact that this was based on a real life case and a teacher really did lose her life , it just pushed me to comment .. bcs this culture of blaming the victim for not doing more towards their abuser is concerning ..
Hi! does anyone know when episode 6 of TYUL will be available? Or did I miss something? 😅
Not every culture or country is the same... you cannot compare South Korea's teaching methods or their communication ways to what seem normal to you, and i do not blame you this happens because you are witnessing it for the first time in k-dramas so this is not normal for you (at first i felt the same) but once you have watched more and understand their culture and their normal then you won't find it crazy.. Except that love the reactions.
Triple take channels are my first and only Patreon subscriptions, I am subscribed to you guys on both of your Patreon channels, and I have noticed a pattern that no matter how much you guys will try to accommodate viewers, they will always feel entitled and find disappointments cuz they paid, if they dislike this much they can simply cancel their subscription but no that will take away their platform where they take out their frustrations so do not bother about these people please they will always have problems, Love you guys :)
26:18 wow, this is a crazy statement to make. this is exactly what people say to victims of abuse to dismiss them “she’s enabling it.” you genuinely become incapable of thinking when you’re trapped in situations like this. she was literally in her house, on her social media, and even reported her for assault how would blocking her do anything? there’s no “but” or “should’ve” when it comes to abuse. it’s so easy to end up in situations like this. people don’t always have their “dog in them” or wtv you said. you don’t know how embarrassing and painful it is to go through something like this just for people to tell you that you should’ve done this or that. i don’t usually comment on your pages, and i understand that you all have completely different experiences and ways of seeing things, but i really hope you can have a little more empathy toward situations you don’t understand. there’s a difference between being “genuine” and being ignorant or uncompassionate
i’m gonna need you guys to watch when life gives you tangerines, it’s honestly the perfect show
I do get everyone's comments and they all made great points. As for me, I liked this reaction coz I think these three guys became just very genuine with their reactions - Seb crashing out coz he's really losing patience so he's spewing just curses and whatever. Admit it guys, y'all felt the same way THE FIRST TIME you watched this episode. And then Ben and Charlie also genuinely explained to Seb that 'okay, that's you, but this is the character..' So what we watched here are the different opinions and reactions of three guys, and they're telling each other what they think. Also, they even don't know for sure that this episode was from real life. And when we learned about it, that's the only time we felt extra sensitive about this. It's not the case for Seb, Ben and Charlie coz they didn't know. So yeah overall, I liked this reaction guyss! 😁💜
there’s a difference between being “genuine” and simply being ignorant and inconsiderate. two things can be true at once. saying “she’s enabling” is something people say to victims of abuse as a way to dismiss and blame them. it’s okay to not understand her, and it’s okay to not know the full context of this case, but what he said was still not okay and was toxic. and no, even if i’ve never experienced abuse or anything like this, i would never say something like that. not everyone lacks empathy like you.
Since there’s a lot of comments about “no she can’t block because the parent and teacher need to communicate”… the school literally had an app for that which is what they were using until the mother wanted unrestricted, off the record, afterhours access which is completely unacceptable So yes, blocking was always an option but also yes, I understand the nuance and guilt one would feel if they resorted to that particularly with SK’s work culture The unblock is always there if the teacher needed to urgently call the parent during school hours aka the only hours they are responsible for the child
no its not she blocks the mum and then what? You can see that she didnt stop there she took it further and even accused the teacher as a child abuser just to mess with her. Victims wont block because they dont want things to get worse. And these parents in korea can gather other parents to team up and petition for the teacher to be fired. It really isnt that simple
this ep made me cry and also pissed me off just as much as you guys were lol
Also please don’t search it about the show you guys don’t get spoilers please! 😭
Why there are so many cuts I wanna hear what you guys discussed 😭 also I can see why some people think this is extreme and she just needs to get tougher and stuff but this was a real case, and also it’s so hard to say what would you do exactly if you were in this situation. Because it’s a serious one and we def shouldn’t say that we would never be in this situation because people and rules are very different. Also even hypothetically, it’s really not up to her atp.
That parent really tested my patience she was PISSED me OFF lol your reaction when she screams was SO FUNNY HAHAHA
This actually happened in real life and that teacher actually took her life. You have to remember that parents can have so much power over a teacher. As a teacher you can't just "block" her you will have to see them in person bc you teach their kid.
Let’s not blame the kid when they are literally child ages 5-8 that don’t know how to control feelings. Adults/ parents should however know how to control their feeling and outburst emotions.
They literally talked about how bad they felt for the kid and the fact that his parents were ruining his life, lol.
Guys I feel like being a teacher there is a sense of responsibility and professionalism that you can’t just ignore a parent and talk back and argue that’s isn’t okay in general. However in the situation this teacher it’s her first year and is timid and doesn’t have that “fire in her.” Her passion is to teach kids not fight with ridiculous parents like this one. The episode is showing awareness that being a teacher is and can be a pain in the ass due to ignorant adults.
seb do you know how society works teachers cant just block parents because they still have to see that parent and even worse these parents will make things worse for the teacher if she finds out if shes been blocked. It was kind of insensitive saying to just block imo when this actually happens irl. You cant just block someone that easily when theres these sort of stuff in the way.
yesss, and it's the child teacher. How is she gonna let the parent know about what is going on with their children or an emergency if the parent is blocked? There needs to be communication.
I was honestly really disappointed by the lack of empathy in this reaction. The teacher was being harassed nonstop and was clearly struggling, and the kid obviously wasn’t coming from a great situation at home either. It felt like there was a lot of “why doesn’t she just do this?” without really considering how overwhelmed she already was. You can’t always just block parents or tell them off, especially when they can have a lot of influence over a teacher’s job. And not everyone is naturally good at confrontation or standing up for themselves in situations like that. The comments about the kid was a little disappointing too. Calling him a brat and getting annoyed when he cried felt really harsh when he was clearly struggling as well. I just wish there had been more understanding for both of them.
honestly u can’t be mad at it i felt bad for her to but its annoying that she didn’t block the mom’s number at all and the kid being annoying is also something u obviously feel bc the moms already annoying so feeling bad for the kid is hard
I heard this episode is based 9n true story
