Update 10/31 - Ogre Poppenang invades Wider WoD Actual-Play Sphere!
Who's here for a patreon update, raise your hands?
Who's here to hear the chronicle of Lambert Fischer, inventor of the Pencilogramme?
Alright glad we sorted that out.
HAPPY HALL OF WEEN ALL, Earndil here (and Alfabusa adding a detail or two)
with another bupdate for you, in addition to a generalized roundup of things in the wake of the TWO HOUR LONG FUCKING AUDIODRAMA GOD DAMN IT-
We want to start by addressing the video linked up above.
Cool WoD community figure what we adore, Jersh (Shaun in PodByNight's Stitch of Fate, if you're familiar), invited a few of us to partake in a Vampire: The Masquerade one-shot this Hallowen!
The evil ogroids from our crew joining in are:
SpeakerD - Host of Norfolk Wizard Game, Voice of Big-D
Playing a Cappadocian Necromancer by the name of Ulysses who hauls around the decapitated head of a once-famous martial artist/movie star.ThunderPsyker - Voice of Kitten
Playing Ralphonzo, who is kind of sort of Thunder's interpretation of the Malkavian from VTM: Bloodlines 1 from when he was streaming the game? Really nice guy.Alfabusa - bastard creature
Playing a wretched Salubri Dialberist YouTuber who is obsessed with AI slop but cannot even use the technology neccesary to produce content anymore.
Also joining us is someone going by PeachyPixel8!
First time we talked, super nice guy, he played a Nosferatu named Gooner, a Master of Comedy Disguises and all-around cutie.
As you can figure, this game is a disaster.
If you dare, tread beyond and watch the rise and fall of the most pathetic Coterie in V:TM Actualplay History.
....
Alright, plug over!
Let's talk 2 HOUR AUDIOLOG AGAIN
Hi yes, that Audiolog was a serious undertaking and we're extremely glad to be past it, but what we're even more glad for, is the extremely positive response to the audiodrama!
We took a risk making it as long as we did, there was a great deal of important stuff to discuss, and it definitely warranted the longer treatment...
But fuck me sideways it was an ordeal!
How did you all like Chapter 5.2?
Did you like the Philippines?
Did you like Fatigue, young or old or Kronik?
If you loved the Fatigues, I have great news for you:
They're dead and never coming back!
Allegedly!
But seriously, thoughts below if you choose, we love to see them, and they help us immensely. We're going to be trying like hell to avoid such a long delay again, but knowing us, we'll both disappoint in that goal and hopefully exceed expectations on delivery, as has been relayed to us by you all numerous times.
Now enough auto-fellation, I am pleased to report that work is already firmly underway on Chapter 5.3, Let's Go To O'Tolleys, and I am presently spearheading the preliminary audio composition.
The first draft of which should be complete by the time this update goes out, but don't get excited yet, this draft lacks a lot of recorded audio, with either placeholders or estimates of space abounding.
Alfa please post a pic of delicious food from the episode below.
Yeah terrific stuff.
Work on Chapter 6 proper continues at pace, our artists, storyboarders, Karl and other integral core people are hard at work making the necessary components, and it's all looking very good so far.
Can't report on much there yet, as we will be chipping away at it while we work on 5.3, 5.4, and 5.5 before its eventual release!
In other news, in celebration of Bloodlines 2 actually releasing,
if you haven't watched Kindred: The Embraced yet, please do, it's a remarkably good tv show that focuses on Vampire: The Masquerade.
For those of us (like me) who are very definitively not enmeshed in the lore and particulars of the World of Darkness, and can stand some bending of the more definitive parts of WoD canon, it's a surprisingly interesting little run of episodes, that was tragically cut short by the death of one of the lead actors.
Give it a whirl, don't let WoD-heads dissuade you with any griping about it not being a good V:tM show, come to your own conclusions about how shit and trite you may find it to be, it certainly can be.
And as always folks, I want to reiterate, thank you for your support in these times that prove ever more trying for all of us, we certainly feel things right alongside you, and we know that whatever support you dare to provide is an express decision by you to keep us going.
We endeavor to not disappoint.
Until next time, we hope you have a poppeng rest of your day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Until next time, have a good one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is there a reason as to why yall don’t upload the videos on here? Then forcing us to go to YouTube (I won’t pay for Red). Making it kinda an inconvenience, I’m not gonna stop supporting yall but it definitely has stopped me from watching any of the new stuff, sadge. Anywho thanks for the great content you grokin grok-stars
Chapter 5.2 had to be my favorite part of the series so far!!
I didn't see anything about Norfolk wizard game. What's the story with that?
thank you i love this show so much omg
The episode was incredible. I loved every bit of it.
A bit of english folklore that may come in handy- Human Death Walls. There is at least one two hours from Norfolk. https://youtu.be/y_3eos4lurQ?si=5a_qj93sX1MbrlbJ
The latest audio log had me laughing, wondering, pondering, conjuring and looking into more than I knew about WoD AND actual history to try and connect the dots in your intricate web of lunacy. Also credit to both the writers and actors for pulling off a 2 hour audiolog that left me wanting for it to have been EVEN LONGER! Also my sympathies to the editors. Please disregard everything I said about wanting it to be even longer unless you get paid by the hour. On the other hand how dare you keep pushing the fly conspiracy that I've only recently became aware and befuddled of! On the third hand I left in the fridge for later, brilliant wordplay and puns all around. I'm also amazed at the research that went into this episode as well as the mysteries it resolved and opened. Thoroughly engaging! This series has become one of my personal favorites that I can blabber and rave about for hours thanks to the care and effort put into it. Finally, thanks for including poor Amanda whose grounded presence adds little depth, but a solid foundation to the charm and comedy of the absurdity of it all. 10.98784/10, have watched again and look forward to doing so again ans quite possibly again after watching it all over again.
The 2h long werewolf audiolog was in my opinion one of your best so far, up there with The Probing of Kevin's writing and the everything of Plane Investigation. I would've settled for something along the lines of Big-D & Kittens Lore Primer episode, but you guys just keep improving and serving peak stories. So yeah, amazing work. Don't be afraid to make more of those long audiodramas if you think that's best for that episode (and no worries if you went down in animation or story quality for others if you believe that is all that is needed for a particular audiolog, again, the first Lore Primer one's quality was more than amazing and fantasticly acceptable if that's the level of focus you want to put into it.)
Seconded. This was good, and it's absolutely not the new standard of length and animation quality that I expect from future audiologs. The probing of Kevin was, what, 30 minutes? That was still one of the best. They're all good, just want to reiterate that y'all have not, in fact, raised the bar for length and visuals and complexity. Your writing and audio is why we love these, whether it's 2 dudes in a room for 30 minutes, or a 2 hour epic, or a 1 minute short of Chapman and Kevin accidentally catching a murderer. (Shout-out to Markus pubbing and D getting interrogated. Still my 2 favorites)
Did I like the 2h long video of awesome story telling and fascinating werewolf lore that made me forget the time while listening to it? ... Yeah, maybe. So please continue being awesome. And that a 2h video takes longer to create than a 20 min one is self evident, so dont feel bad about that. If you continue releasing updates like these in the mean time, so we know there wasn't a surgical strike by wizard assassins on you, all is fine.
I unironically cried when the worm was spiraling Amanda and Kitten's thoughts and D pulled them from the brink. Might replace the "NEVER GIVE UP!" Japanese clam farmer in my head for mental support.
O' tolleys menu would fix me... Then kill me
Is the menu supposed to prime the heart attack or cause it? That said, keep it going! You're hitting the pace now and you're exceeding every time!
The O’Tolley menu is a thing of nightmares and I love it. I need to see the drink menu. I can only imagine…
Loved the last episode, especially because it dived much deeper into the background of one of my favorite characters. I know, you all decide how the story goes, but I reaaally hope the gang tells Occam to listen to the recording as soon as possible, since fatigue intended for it to be listened to by him specifically.
Thx for the recs. Your teams work has been phenomenal from day one
Best audiolog to date, loved every second of it !
The last audio log was amazing, to put it mildly! Kronik is a terrible person, but fun to watch er, listen to!
The audiodrama was MAGNIFICENT so I can assure the wait is definitely well worth it. Passion is not something that can be rushed, so I really don’t mind waiting since the product is always something so damn fascinating and interesting to watch! I seriously admire all the work that you guys put into these videos, genuinely some of the best stuff I’ve ever gotten into and it never fails to impress. The way you approach lore and worldbuilding is absolutely *chefs kiss*.
My stomach imploded at the descriptions in that menu. And I was about to eat some nice greasy pizza too! Guess I'm sticking with GMO'd Apples: At least they're still apples.
It was such an excellent addition to the story. The use of Fatigue's story to highlight the colonialistic and capitalist problems with the larger network of hunters and monsters has me so excited to see the faces of this Coalition!
The Audio Drama was amazing half the reason I'm here is for the audio dramas the other half is for the amazing shows, and then the final half is for the people making all of this wonderful content. Don't question the math.
I do honestly look forward to the "audiologs" more than episodes sometimes. Partially because the majority of the series is audiolog by now, partially because they always focus on character interactions and I just love the way you guys write dialogue between people. It's so good.
Having watched/listened to the new audio log at least thrice sine it's release i can confirm that i love it and the autism worms in brain have been satiated.... FOR NOW! Keep up the good work you poppenanging ogres, peace and love ( `- `)ノ
The 140-minute audiolog was incredible, its writing and pacing had it flow so smoothly that you hardly noticed the time going by. That said, while I enjoyed the quality and quantity of 5.2, I believe you would all benefit from shorter audiologs. The stories and characters you all create are absolutely wonderful, and the last thing I want to see this incredible team suffer from is burnout. Thank you all for your work, please take care of yourselves and know that you have made wonderful art <3
I still think you put way too much effort into the audiologs and you'd benefit from more "low effort" ones like AKIRA CROSS (Akira Cross, akira cross.....) That said: It didn't feel like a 2.5 hour movie because it all flowed so goddamn smooth, I was engaged the whole time. I'm less certain of my heterosexuality now because of young Fatigue. I absolutely adore you dipping into lesser known history and cultures and portraying it with nuance and subtlety and respect despite it being in the background (obscure Philippino language, having the characters actually use said obscure language instead of having it all be in English for our sake, having the jackass colonialist respect the locals, begrudgingly, until he gets betrayed by them and also not preemptively killing or adopting away the kids he kidnapped, but also giving enough context for us to understand he was still causing problems and it was a very tough time and they had a major power imbalance so we can sympathize with the treachery and distrust by the locals. The local guide offering reconciliation instead of bloodthirsty retribution. So many colonial stories in real life were worse than this, and I'm glad you didn't go extreme with it. I wish more Americans featured because it's the Philippines, but I understand that would bloat the story and distract from a film that's already very full) Beautiful new art. Excellent voice acting all around. So many goddamn plot hooks that I felt blue balled by the ending despite it being 140 minutes long. You're getting better at horror. Excellent stolen moon introduction, please never make me look at it again. I appreciate the subtle detail of Wayda's English getting better over the weeks she's a guide, as she de-rusts her skills. I wish to give Amanda a hug. I think her mic and voice was a liiiiitle hard to hear at parts? But that's partially a consequence of her "my brain was literally fried and metaphorically blown several times this evening, I'ma mumble" tone, which I respect as a choice. But yeah, I have an instinctive trust and liking of black people with dreadlocks because every one I've ever met is a friendly weeb, and I'm glad she's getting a bigger role. It's nice to have a foil to the family in the form of someone who's mousy, but evidently shares their trait of being strengthened by their bonds with others (even though said bond is with the current main antagonist, which is one hell of a plot element to throw in there. Loving it. I kinda hope they're not romantically bound because I personally find it more engaging when it's platonic, but I'm not gonna complain if it's a gay werewolf romance. I'm sure you'll write it great) I very much appreciate the vignettes of different parts of the world of darkness. I think it's wise to have them be side stories and flashbacks so you don't need to drag the cast all over the world. I very VERY much appreciate you going through the effort to consult with locals to integrate their language, aesthetic, and perspective on history or themes relevant to the story (man's relationship with nature, the nature of family and loyalty, redemption and damnation etc.), because I'm a sucker for diversity and hearing little tastes of the world I'll likely never visit myself because there's just so many, and I have to save up money to afford such distant travel. There's a hundred little details to gush over but this is what I can remember the top of my head, so I hope it's the most important ones. TLDR: AUDIOLOG. OF. THE. DECADE. (Penispenispenis cock balls)
Oh, also, real talk: What the actual fuck is Togo? I thought I had a mild psychotic break when that happened
10 1/2 pounder pattes! thats 5 pounds of meat and 3.5 pounds more hten the family burger meal for just 1 more pound!
Audiolog big good, coalition big evil, me big happy, now need boy and cube lover spotlight
Absolutely loved the audiolog. I was constantly pausing and unpausing to bombard my sister with obscure WOD lore, theories, and the Leonardo DiCaprio pointing meme. The flies what do they mean!? 10/10 would get mauled by a werewolf again. Also please make Kitten the next plush. He's my sisters favorite character and I need the sibling points i would gain by gifting it to her.
THE FLIES MASON. WHAT DO THEY MEAN?
I'm always blown away by the depth that your writers and artists (and everyone involved in performance/production) put behind the story. This one is the definitive example in my mind of what it means to tell a story about monsters right now. You all deserve the best. ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
Great audiolog, I watched the whole thing in one sitting.
Loved the last audiolog, and the work that was put in writing foe the Philipines. WoD doesn't have the best reputation for including non-European supernatural stories (looking at you, Dead Magic 2), but this was a real treat. And it's always good to see self righteous British aristocrats get spanked. Looking forward to everything else yall do.
This was the first audiolog that I could not listen to as an audiolog but required the visuals to fully understand. I love your silly voices but the audio filter made them incomprehensible at times. Not to mention the use of non-english language which works if you have subtitles but for audio only obviously does not. So huge negative for me, I'm sorry.
Fair. It's a bit disingenuous to call it an audiolog but leave important information in a second language. Especially such a niche one. I love the inclusion but maybe save it for more explicitly visual episodes? This is an example of your ambition for visuals causing problems with the the audiolog concept of "shorter side stories people can listen to" Good episode, wonderful story. But if was neither short, nor side, nor a thing you can just listen to. You've already moved away from treating them side stories which is good. Might need some more reframing for the future
Finally, my Garg-O slop!
I was incredibly happy with the longer episode!!! I watched in the opera barn so i got to have some quite amazing surround sound for the score. Genuinely was OBSESSED with wernon, and i have been so so so hyped for more content so i WILL be making my partners watch the vtm actualplay with me sometime >:3 Thank yall once again for the Incredible content if there was a way to send more cash come the holidays i would absolutely take it!!!
You will never hear me complain about longer audiologs and episodes. If I have to, I will absorb y'all's genius over the course of several days! As always, the product was more than worth the wait. Getting to learn about Wernon's history and how he became himself was awesome. I can't wait (but I will) to see the next episode!
Could I please get a number 2 with mushy beans, a number 3 with pickled eggs, 17 number 5s all with tallow chips, and 2 number 10s?
I loved the last audiolog (and keep listening to it, Wernon's journey is a great story by itself and I love the framing device), hopefully we can get more of him or another character on record or even CDs. As for the torching of the local O'Tolley's, I'm very excited for what Door and dear Boy get up to, maybe a vision of a certain worm as Boy bites down on his 6th Gutbuster?
Not gonna lie, if McD's was putting out a menu like that with THOSE prices, I'd be tempted to eat there again. I'm on a bit of a "Never again!" kick since the last time I ate McD's food, it made me high. Like, sugar rush high, not "They might be putting drugs in the food..." high.
Personally, I thoroughly LOVED the 2 hour long audiolog. I listen to the stuff at work, and long form content is some of my favorite shtuff to masticate on, so if there’s more long form audiolog delights coming, I’m all for it!
Both me and my brother loved this episode, by the time it ended we were thouroughly enraptured in the story as always. "Great work everyone done bigly"
This made me freak all over my apartment
The Fatigue Extravaganza was great!
How did you all like Chapter 5.2? - I loved it, I actually personally enjoyed the over 2 hour length, it means I can put it on during a workout and not have to switch to another video when this ends. Did you like the Philippines? Yes! And the format of switching from the old audiolog to tge modern discussion is very fun Did you like Fatigue, young or old or Kronik? Absolutely loved them.
This is the most insane update I have ever read. This is what I pay you people for.
Also in terms of the episode 5.2 That thing was amazing. It might be one of my favorite overall pieces of WoD content? Just because it felt so wild in the level of evil done by Kronik. You guys captured the pure awfulness of him, and the situation the family finds themselves in. I enjoyed it so much. And now I NEED to see the next part ASAP. But also take your time because taking your time clearly creates the best shit.
Today has been a real shit day for me. But seeing this intrepid group of creators relentlessly moving forward puts a much needed smile on my face. I had to pause my membership for the time being, but I will ALWAYS be glued to Youtube on the days you fine lads dispense such GLORY to us.
I… I kinda wanna hear about the pencilogramme
