October at Mix 3D Design: VFX, pixelated shadows and a little progress
Hi everyone 🌸
A quick look at what you can explore now and what I'm working on next.
Available now
Pieces from Life #01 is up. We build a small wind-chime scene and work through the glass, lighting and final atmosphere:

If you've been struggling to keep your character's original colors with cel shading, this tutorial compares Shader to RGB with the new EEVEE Light Nodes:

On my desk
Stylized VFX: I'm working through the creation and animation process, with game-workflow preparation as part of the plan. I want the explanation to be useful when you adapt an effect to your own project.
Pixelated lighting and shadows: I'm exploring how to turn a smooth Blender shadow into a pixelated one for block-style worlds. That comparison is the part I want to show clearly.
Handmade weapon and staff assets: These are still in development. I'd like to share a closer look at the models and materials as they progress.
These are works in progress, so I'm not announcing release dates yet.
When you try the wind-chime or cel-shading tutorial, where do you get stuck? Tell me the step or node, and which Blender version you're using. That gives me something useful to explain in a follow-up.
Thanks for being here ❤️
