Open new ways to earn on Patreon
๐งญ This post is part of our Growing your Patreon collection. If you haven't taken the Growth Pathfinder quiz yet, consider starting with How should you grow? to discover your best growth opportunities and build a personalized path through this collection.
There comes a time when you may feel good about your audience, your tiers, the world you've created on Patreon. Yet... you still want to grow.
That's where the new offerings quest comes in.
New offerings are things your audience can buy or experience that live alongside your tiers rather than inside. A one-time purchase, a ticketed event, a downloadable item, a special experience, or even fan to fan gifting. Something your fans can jump into without committing to a tier and something your existing tier members can enjoy on top of what they already have.
You're adding something new for people to explore.
The best offerings feel like they could only come from you
Your audience shows up because they appreciate you. Your work. So when considering what you can offer, consider things that are a natural extension of what you already make. Something so specific to your world that your audience immediately understands why it exists and wants to be part of it.
A DIY creator releasing a downloadable knit sweater pattern.
A travel creator releasing a detailed guide to a destination they've featured in their videos.
An illustrator bundling a collection of tutorial posts on a specific art style.
A finance creator hosting an exclusive, ticketed live webinar.
A fiction podcaster releasing a story from a side character's perspective.
Every one of those ideas grows directly out of what the creator was already making.
Because the more specific an offering feels to your work and your community, the more it feels like something only you could have made. A horror writer's new offering will look completely different from a podcaster's or a cooking creator's. And that's what makes it special.
Start with what your audience already gets excited about
What posts get the most comments? What do people reference long after you've moved on? What keeps coming up in replies, DMs, or "wait, is there more of this?" moments?
That's your starting point.
Cooking creator The Kitchenista Diaries offers downloadable meal planners and popular recipes as one-time purchases in her Patreon shop. Her audience already loves her cooking. Now they can bring a piece of it into their own kitchen.
3D printing creator PrintyJay sells individual models as one-time purchases alongside his membership tiers. Want one specific model? Great. Grab it. No bigger commitment required.
Different creators, different worlds, same idea: something specific, something useful, something that feels like a natural part of what they already make.

New offerings and tiers can work together
A well-designed new offering doesn't just add earnings. It can make your tiers more compelling too.
Dungeons & Dragons-inspired creator Ginny Di sells downloadable PDFs as one-time purchases. But one of her tiers includes multiple downloads per month at a price that makes the math pretty obvious. Download regularly? The membership is the better deal. Just want one thing? The one-time option is right there.
Nobody leaves empty-handed. And the person who grabs one PDF today? Sometimes they come back next month as a member.
Before you launch, get clear on a few things
Once you have an idea, it helps to answer these questions before you go live:
Who is this for?
Why would people be excited about it?
How does it connect to the larger experience you're already building?
How will you let both new visitors and longtime members know it exists?
Then share previews. Mention it in posts or videos. Give people something to look forward to and a clear way to act when it arrives.
New offerings have a way of creating fresh energy around your whole Patreon. And launching something new is always a great reason to post more, engage more, and show up for your audience in new ways. Which, as it turns out, is good for every other part of your Patreon too.
Growing your earnings doesn't always mean adding more tiers or converting more members. Sometimes it means creating something your audience feels genuinely excited to get their hands on.
๐งญ Your next steps
As you continue your new offerings quest:
Brainstorm one offering connected to the parts of your work people already love most.
Decide who the offering is for and why it feels exciting.
Think through how the offering supports your larger Patreon experience.
Plan how youโll introduce and promote it to both new and longtime supporters.
