I’d like tips to know how to re-grow a Patreon following. How to deal with potential fatigue subscription.
Hey there, there's a good example of this from Swiftologist. Instead of trying to grow everything at once, they focused on making one tier clearly worth it and paired that with a limited-time discount. Some people drifted off after the promo ended, which tends to happen, but their membership still settled at roughly double what it was before. It might be a helpful read! https://www.patreon.com/PatreonforCreators/posts/how-tier-glow-up-148873561
....woefully, without any other equipment of any kind -- no mobile no tv, never been on ANY social media platform. I am no luddite, just never wanted to sign my life and soul away. Not sure why my comments on a variety of YT postings have suddenly encouraged others to "suggest" I write regularly. Just looking
Let me add .... some basics: I work only with my laptop. Woefully
Help talented but unknown creators become known. I create unique content unlike anything else in the world, yet no one knows me or reads my work. That is deeply discouraging. I would love to see a system that helps truly unique creators get discovered.
For every wounded heart searching for hope. If you’ve experienced loss, illness, betrayal, broken relationships, caregiving, loneliness, or simply the weight of living, these letters are written for you. Here you’ll find heartfelt reflections, poetry, prayers, devotionals, and true stories from over four decades as a nurse and fellow traveler through life’s deepest valleys.
Being able to set up a "tier" that is only for people that pay for the full year.
Vids for Over 18 content creators
For those of us that are trying to funnel an audience from elsewhere (eg; Instagram) into our Patreon, there MUST be proven posts, copy, information / hooks that work for this. Eg; testimonials / sneak peaks / aesthetic content Most like a list or guide for what to post on your other platforms in order to get people onto your Patreon (with examples from how other creators have done this) would be so helpful.
i'd love to have a page of all my posts visible that people can easily navigate to besides having to scroll down. and a new notifications tab! i am often confusing my two tiers because the interface is a bit weird to use. hoping updates keep coming to make the platform easier to use :)
Affiliate program so users can make money when they have someone else join as members. Whop is liking you guys
I'd love to see some improvements to the chat section! Custom chat rooms: Let us add pictures to chat rooms instead of just emoticons. Permanent mute: Add an option to mute someone forever (24-hour mute isn't enough for repeat offenders). More chat options: Allow read-only chats where I can post, but others can't reply (like in Discord). Custom rules: Let us write our own rules for each chat room. Themed chats: Support chats with different themes and styles. Overall, lots of potential for better chat features that would mean more options to upgrade the communication between us and our members, especially for big creators.
"Featured post" section on my home tab should have an option to show my currently pinned post. Pinning seems to have no effect on the Home tab as it is now, and I just realized I had been featuring the same post for almost a year because I didn't realize that before.
Hy haw are you
My biggest challenge seems to be getting people to shift to a new platform (Patreon) when they are used to other SM (ie Fb) or dont want to add a new one
Honestly, every time I come back to Patreon to check something, post something, or manage my page, I still struggle with the interface myself. If I find it confusing, I can only imagine how difficult it must be for many users. I would really expect the user experience to become simpler, faster, clearer, and easier to navigate. At the moment, though, I find the interface frustrating enough that I am planning to move away from Patreon and direct my audience to my own website instead. The product updates and experiments you share may be interesting, but from my perspective, the core experience still needs a lot of improvement. Despite having thousands of subscribers, I am seeing almost no sales on the platform. And I know most of them just can’t go through the login process lol

You probably already have this somewhere, but some type of large overview guide on all the features creators can use to really build their platform here. Over the last year I have been leaning more and more into Patreon than my other social platforms but I feel a little lost in really understanding the frameworks to connect more to others here.
Would love to grow gradually here on Patreon. Connect organically with this vibrant Patreon Fam.
It’s super confusing on iOS or the app on how to get to my creator page it should be super easy for me to make a post but it’s a tangled web of nothing
I have yet started my channel yet still thinking on the structure and finishing IRL stuff but I think search categories that are a bit more detailed would be helpful. Or maybe a second search once in the current categories. Also if a broad category search contained another lower level search the people that come on for let’s say art content could then just browse the art content, and people would be more connected with the people that will actually engage in their content. So that people that are interested in music don’t end up, just scrolling through and seeing a bunch of stuff about a bunch of other things that they’re not necessarily interested in so then maybe there’s some you know music creator that misses a Potential Community Member or even a paid member because they were tired of scrolling and stopped it you know the very first music creator they saw and it wasn’t necessarily exactly what they wanted, but it was just too big of a pool to pick from. It kind of seems like with 300,000 creators that it would be like going to Google and saying what should I look at
Or if you’re not looking for feature ideas, maybe you could tell people how the categories are structured like when someone picks on a category that exists right now like what is it that pops up or like search term queries like are there certain words that a search is looking for or are they only just work looking for someone’s name like a content creator’s name or something like that
I'm not yet clear about the new strategy for discoverability on Patreon and how to start a quip.
Hey there, if you're looking for steps on how to create a Quip, this guide walks through the process and includes screenshots to help get you started: https://www.patreon.com/PatreonforCreators/posts/grow-your-with-142363442 And if you'd like to learn more about Patreon's discovery network and how creators can use features like Quips to reach new audiences, this overview provides more context: https://www.patreon.com/PatreonforCreators/posts/go-get-155520677
I would love to see more case studies of successful creators and their tips
Feature the processes of a successful Comic Artist. These creators face some unique challenges 🙂
would be great to be able to resize photos within a post... will save a lot of time back and fourth with photo apps
Is there a way for people to sign up via email (like without an account)? And via API? That would let Patreon wholesale replace my newsletter stack!
I haven’t even find out the platform yet so I’m open for every tips to start up
Any and all resources and practical advice for growing small creator accounts! I'm really happy to see Patreon finally doing something to improve onsite discovery after we've been asking for it for years, but now we need ways to make it work for us little accounts too and not just see it push the already successful accounts even more.
love thanks
a blueprint, step by step guide how to start Patreon account and connecting with accounts, products to purchase and the payment avenues attached to account
It would be super helpful to schedule out a post for more than one date... when we advertise for a product, it would nice to send that same post out a couple weeks later without having to redo the whole post again. 😁
All of the above and then some. I've been on the platform for a while and I still don't really understand it. I struggle to be consistent with it because I get so few impressions and almost no interaction for all the effort it takes to do it. To me it really just feels like any other social media but maybe a little harder to get any traction. I thought Quips would help but I only get a handful of impressions with them and only my members seem to be seeing them.
A easier way to boost content
MASSIVELY improve Discoverability through Quips and not (better avoid external linkage to do so) on REALLY attracting fresh new members to us and have them convert from free to paid as well.
Yep!
This is interesting, I'm learning something new.
Realistically, most of the people coming specifically to Patreon are here to grow monetize-able communities with lockable content, paid membership tiers, easy community management, and eCommerce options.☺️ That’s what most members are focused on here because those are really the primary (niche) value points of this site when compared to other platforms and current Patreon competitors.., …And it’s the only thing that sets it apart from other communities at this time. ☺️ My latest “New Client” Quip is actually an excellent Case Study on what new members and potential new clients are looking for and the current financial/business blocks that low new & small page organic Discovery is having on the platform. It’s actually creating a serious grassroots growth and long-term profitability issue for Patreon itself… I noticed that your post says “This Quarter… which kind of implies/assumes that members are actually going to be patient enough to stay in the platform and continue to grind away for discovery and low/ni visibility while you guys take your time gathering data and adjusting things in the backend for the next 3 ~ 4 months… 🤣 But the reality is that people are already (currently) leaving the platform and aggressively seeking other/alternative options because of these issues… So I think anything that focuses on those topics from a: “Zero (new account) -> Hero (first 100 paid members)” From actual new and small accounts that Patreon itself has helped to grow organically completely in its own platform (without creators relying on external links and bringing outside discovery on their own to grow their communities) would naturally be the most desirable content here.🙏☺️ Followed by large community management and possibly eCommerce extension and upsell of original merchandise.💰🤩 Then more Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials from successful Patreon Creators (Ambassadors) to further expand communities might be the best flow… 😉👍
I'd love to be able to send and receive pictures in the private chat. At the moment, my patrons have to go to another platform to connect with me, which is not fun.
They should implement that the lives are public I'm talking about whoever leads to quip can see bone lives in live that helps people join new creators also issue of the tip button in the live of the creators also as many say about quip for small and small creators more than just giving advice also implement things since this seems more favorable for those who are in large audiences than small I think it should be egalitarian since not everyone can be publishing every second greetings Patreon and real people I've been telling Patreon about this for almost 4 years the only thing they put that I suggested. Like a thousand times it was quip for everyone like Patreon you know about the supports I said and said and said but what is missing is what I mention haci Patreon will be great
How to use Quips in particular or Patreon in general to attract new audience
Second this
When changing to a different currency, an example of what it would look like before doing this would be very helpful. I changed from AUD to USD because any reasonable person would think it would be displayed in USD. All it did was keep it in AUD and jack up the price with a 23% buffer which is ridiculous. People know what USD is worth. Not necessarily AUD. In fact most people will likely see the higher AUD and relate it directly to USD.
Yes please and thank you to all of this! And as another creator suggested below it would be lovely to be able to add things to our shop and then set them to free as perks for our patrons! 😊
Somehow make it really easy for people to go back it seems like it is that way with the recommended posts but even more cohesively make it one big project of the Creator, like a website and we can be more interactive with you all
To be able to combine collections easier
How to find creators each other, especially the small creators. Since collab is introduced on youtube, big creators used this feature successfully. The small creators straggle even more. I create about history, small creators are not many in this field or have very specific niche. Would be great to find community where we can share ideas or support each other and look for collab opportunities.
You can try patreon's discord server 🙂 They have a channel for creators looking to collaborate
Resources on how to converting fans from free followers to paid members
It's appreciated that you're interested in continuing to improve the platform to help creators 😭🔥
We already know ( a bit ) about the Youtube algorithm or Tiktok, how it works , but what about the Quips algo, how does it works ? What are the metrics pushing our Quips outside our fan base core ?
If you could considerate it in the future maybe something that’s could be useful are the ability of: • trade picure and video on private messages with my fans not only on the group chat • id like to being able to send via group chat locked content esclusively for specific tiers
I still don’t really understand quips. I am fairly new here as I’m only going into my third month on Patreon. I have watched the videos and been keeping up with Patreon for creators and I am learning so very much! I appreciate this platform, it is so special. It is refreshing to have a community of like-minded people sharing their gifts with the world! 🤗 I would like to figure out how to connect more with others here who I am aligned with. I haven’t quite figured out how to do that. it is my understanding that this is one of the purposes of quips? I’m not getting any interaction there so I’m not sure what I am doing wrong. Thank you! 🤗
Not doing anything wrong, it's Discovery and algorithm not working properly.
I want A feature that automatically restricts access to older posts based on a subscriber's membership age.
Get the billing sorted out. I have lost TONS of supporters due to this including new and old with screenshots of their notes to me. My supporters and income has tanked. And fix the chat issues, and the app issues where I cannot reply to comments and shared link issues. And more storage space! And bring back the original shop.
Hey Anmarie, thanks for taking the time to share this feedback. We've shared your feedback with the Patreon team. If you haven't already, and you're experiencing specific issues with billing, comments, chats, or shared links, please reach out to Support so they can investigate and gather additional details: https://support.patreon.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
Can we have some way for our subs to be able to choose which parts of our content they do and do not want notifications for? I want to be able to share ALL of my neurospicy interests without overwhelming my music fans with pickle videos, or my crochet fans with travel vlogs. Oh pretty please?
Nice to Meet yu
Yep def assistance with growth as a new creator here 🙏
My page was removed because of lack of customers. I am starting a new marketing plan and want my page back on Patreon so I can send people to it. I tried to get it republished but have not had success. How do I get my page back on?
Hey Patricia, sorry to hear you're having trouble getting your page back up and running. We're not able to look into account-specific issues here, but our Support team can review your situation and help you understand what options are available. You can reach out to them with this link: https://support.patreon.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
Thank you
I love Quips ❤️
More info on if NSFW Patreons will be left behind completely. I know we are getting Quips at some point, but by then others will have had so long to get ahead, I wonder if we will be able to get any reach at all?
A way to get you to listen and loosen up the algorithm for the feed!!! I'm not seeing ANYONE other than who I follow, so I can only assume NO people who don't follow me are seeing my quips.
A way to see our page the way a free member see it, or the way a new visitor see it!
Greetings
How to ensure content isnt AI and how to get stolen content OFF Patreon.
I’d love more support in terms of advice but also features for people who send physical rewards (eg stickers and mail clubs) - sometimes it feels Patreon is a bit better set up for online rewards and isn’t well integrated with how creators have to mail our rewards, mailing stuff is hard enough these days so it would be amazing to have discussions on how to align better with Patreon (eg shipping options for tiers, integrating with mail clients like Royal Mail, introducing subscription deadlines for specific rewards to be mailed out - there’s so much potential!) p.s on this topic, the eligibility status has really helped me so thanks for that 🩷
Making a more distinct format for musicians where we can not just bundle posts with audio but make compilations of songs etc.
As a musician myself, that'd be very nice too. And be DISCOVERED more!
Improved formatting of posts. It’s fine to get people there but then you need something of quality once they arrive. The very basic posts don’t provide much to work with.
♥️♥️♥️🙂💋💘🌷
This is going to be a wild thought… but what if Patreon led the way on a hard social media reset? Something I find myself doing, almost subconsciously but now I’ve started to notice, is that before I engage with a post or watch something, I first check how many likes, comments, shares it has - and if it’s a high number, I decide that it’s worth paying attention to. If it’s a low number, I scroll by. I don’t know if I’m the only one that does that, but I’ve been thinking how social media has trained us to like the things that other people like, and not necessarily the things we would like and be drawn to, especially if not a lot of other people would like and be drawn to the same things. I hope I’m making sense 😊 So my proposal is this, and @Jack Conte I’d be happy to hear your thoughts What if the social side of Patreon looked nothing like traditional social media (as I hope it will one day be referred to)? What if when you came on Patreon as a viewer, you saw posts and content that did not have a like, comment or engagement counter - and it was almost like a clean slate for you to decide based on your own interests what you want to interact with. To be clear, on the creator’s side, the like, comments and engagement stats would be visible but only to them, not as a public scorecard of how clever, witty, funny, inspiring, creative it was… Because when we say that social media has become addictive, I don’t see it as a consumer problem alone, but also as a creator problem. We create from the vantage of trying to optimize for views, likes, engagement - especially when our businesses/income is tied to it, it’s a constant battle of wanting to remain true to our ideas and crafts, but feeling the need to “give the people what they want.” Even with comments, what if they were private and only visible between the commenter and the creator? Wouldn’t that foster an even deeper sense of community if we were speaking directly to the person whose work spoke to us in some way - not having to worry about how others will perceive us… Then in terms of discoverability, I think all topics and sub-topics should be well documented regardless of the number of creators in each - and everyone given a chance to select at the topic or sub-topic level what they would like to see. I think it would make us more open to want to see what is out there and even connect with content and creators that we may never have connected with before. What do you guys think?
🙌👍👍 100% agree! In interest of public conversation, I think it would be useful to still have post comments public by default, but maybe users could choose to "whisper" the comment on the post so it's only visible to the post creator? In any case having all numbers be publicly invisible would be a true vibe changer, make Patreon feel more like an art gallery than another engagement-Olympics. This should at least be an option, just like a creator can hide their monthly revenue or paid members count. (I think creators should even have the ability to hide numbers on the backend if they don't feel like having that private pressure.) Just put the icons of people who've commented next to the comment bubble so ppl know there are comments on the post to see! I 100% feel ya on the being influenced by numbers when deciding whether to even look at a post on traditional socmed, that's why I downloaded a demetricator for yt and xwitter (the only social media sites I go on any more.) That way I can't see the numbers on anything except for how old a post is, and it's been such an improvement 😩👌 This would all be an app-wide overhaul so it's beyond the scope of a Patreon for Creators post, but this sounds amazing nevertheless! 🥰
Can we please have the power to DELETE chats we no longer are a part of???
I’m here to learn. But I would say learning to build a fan base is a good first step for me. Product and subscriptions need a customer.
I know you’re asking about helpful content, but tools wise, I would love to be able to have a setting to personalize emails like most newsletters operate today where it will autofill their preferred name, so it will say Hi [name]! Or thanks for being here, [name] instead of having to be a mass target.
Is it working ?
Really good
Newbie here. I would like to learn best practices from Patreon coders, not just other Creators. When we understand how the system has been structured, we can also win
I definitely don’t want another social media platform that’s for sure. I’ve had enough of that nonsense and having comments, likes and so forth is already going on that direction.
Could you highlight creators by category like webcomic, podcast, etc.?
I would like the option to opt my paying members OUT of the quips that are promoting posts they already have access to. Otherwise, I’m just annoying them with more notifications. Some quips I would like to go to everyone and some only to non-paying members.
So how do I begin and what’s possible! I’m 73 and didn’t grow up with tech so need to go slow! God Bless!
Hi Im new due to Saintly Scenes videos! I am writing a life story of over 50 years of my spiritual journey in modern times. My call is to be a witness to Truth, Way and the Life we are called to Live in Peace and Joy! So perhaps it can be as series of chapters, with questions and answers for lay people, not biblical study but to give a basic lay understand to help live the faith to draw closer to God for whatever comes next! Many claim to come from God but discernment is required to understand! Perhaps we can develop community to understand Gods existence and Love for all! He is waiting!
Quip writing tips? I often find myself at a loss of what to write when posting photos of my work. I would love to have a framework or template that helps build thoughtful and meaningful photo text
There are certain features which available for more mature accounts. Selling post, yearly rates for followers, discounts etc. some I have already, some still missing even after 200 post over 6 month. It would be nice to get some details here.
More on ways to connect with/ get to know other creators to explore collaborations within the platform but without having to pay and subscribe to interact with one another.
Please add pinch to zoom to native live stream capabilities!
Converting Free members yo Paid members, i think think almost 90% of my community is free 😅
Same!
I'm concerned about "earning more $$" not being relevant for those of us trying to get started and needing to convert fans.
Help to get greater visibility for the Patreon account. Everything has been done as suggested so far, Social Networks, etc, but people do not come. Is the new Platform Outline for Patreon going to help for higher visibility and discoverability, etc? Would be useful to get further insights. Many thanks.
WORD!!
Fix the exporting of .csv files (its been broken for months) and make formatting a post easier. Simple things like paragraph breaks and making bullet points feel glitchy and cumbersome.
Interested in how to safely promote Patreon on Instagram, since The Rules there aren’t clearly defined.
I'm struggling to get anyone to visit Patreon or follow us. Those that do rarely interact. I'm happy that our content is good but I need ideas to take people further.
I am very much open about collaboration. But the feature should be more promoted by Patreon Creators. Because there is the growth.
🔥🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯💯💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻
As a new small NSFW Adult Game creator (Virt-A-Mate / VAM style) with around 20 paid members, the topics that would help me the most are: • Practical ways to grow from 20 to 100+ paid members • Case studies from other successful Adult Game devs • How to effectively use new features like Collaborative Posts in the 18+ niche • Privacy & discovery best practices for NSFW creators Thank you Patreon team!
👆 that part
Make a Collection’s icon the preview image on all posts within that Collection that do not contain an image.
#4 would be really dope !! I need a lot of mine switched to paid followers
Pls create Fanpages that Advertise different creators.. that everybody could find "not mainstream Artist" / Special creators that are not related to Keywords art... Like me (Just the beginning ;)
How to use analytics to gain insight in how to improve strategically
I’d honestly like you to build a way for the new feed to be optional. My patrons are not at all happy to be hit with another social media wall and yet more steps to get to my page, which is all they want.
I'm interested on how to generate more engagement, especially for ceators like me who started with 0 followers (yes i know everybody has to start at 0 at some point😉)
Undoubtedly, Patreon is a powerful platform that delivers massive traffic and endless creative inspiration. As a newcomer to content creation, I’m especially eager to learn how to accelerate member conversions — even getting people to sign up as free members would be a huge and important first step.
I support this - it is useful for new creators and senior people alike
All
You really need to make a "zero to hero" best practices guide for new creators detailing how to get the most out of the new system. At the moment you keep showcasing larger creators which is fine but I'd like to see some highlights on smaller lesser known creators.
🥰
I'd love to understand more how Quiping can lead to new patrons! I've seen a lot of wonderful increase in traffic for a while, then down to the pre-Quip levels and, overall, not a strong increase in patrons. Also, what makes Quipping different than other social media posting is still a bit of a mystery (aside of course from the wonderful Patreon platform and community, which remain pure gold). Thank you for all your work on Patreon and on supporting artists and creators!
And I want it to be easier to access and browse people's Quips.
Tips to to grow your audience!
Absolutely
all of the above!
Organize creators into groups according to their craft: music, computer animation, pottery, jewelry, etc.
I'd like to see successful comic artist Patreon pages featured. 🙂 I'd love to learn productivity hacks, how they got audiences invested in their narrative, and how they keep their audience engaged between such labor-intensive posts. Patreon for Creators has featured successful podcasters and performance artists, but anyone building a story - comic artists, tv show creators, novelists, short film directors - are in a different boat and could use different tips than those who do one-off illustrations and such. I'd also like to see more adult content creators of all kinds featured (though I know that may be difficult with the app store content restrictions.) Unrelated note: you guys are doing a fantastic job with your posts and info🖤 Words can't describe how far ahead of other platforms you guys are. There's no other mainstream platform that asks creators what they want, let alone actually delivering on that feedback in a timely manner, so thank you. I know there can be negativity in the comment sections sometimes, but I think most creators on here are extremely grateful for you guys' hard work. I'm looking forward to your next post!
As an indie comic/manga creator I agree 100%
More design resources tips. I would love a resource directing us to vetted patreon designers to help us maximize the look and flow of our pages.
Yes I agree! Every learning resource is valuable and appreciated!
We’re just starting to explore Patreon and deeply appreciate the paid folx we have so far - but have all kinds of imposter syndrome asking for the support. All of these options would be helpful for us.
More options or advice on the best way to offer physical products. Stickers are really big for some Creators, and I was disappointed in a recent Story/Event about them that was just...a promotional stunt for those involved? No resources to help smaller Creators or plans to make it easier for Creators to offer, order and ship Stickers out to thier Patrons?
It would be good for those of us who are still largely unknown to have more visibility, as it seems the quips I’m posting are now only being seen by my own members, so would be great to have them highlighted for those who could be interested.
I’d like to be able to set shop items to free for subscribers and paid for non subscribers. I’d also like api support so I can integrate my AI chatbot to respond to messages for me. HMU I’ve got 10k members and struggling to support them in these areas due to platform limitations.
great suggestion!
I'd love a more streamlined easier view on the mobile app of active members and cancellations for paid/free members.
I'd love to see some practical discussion around growing through the new discoverability network (edit: I think I meant discovery network there 😅) if you don't already have a large audience, ideally evidence-based and going beyond the existing suggestions about what to post in Quips. For example, it makes sense that creators with a high number of supporters and therefore a higher rate of engagement will have their Quips travel far and wide, but that's less likely to be the case for smaller creators no matter what we're posting. It would be awesome to have some realistic and implementable advice there!
100% agreed
Something for french people ?? How don't speak english as you ?
Me gustaría saber como conseguir melenas, como invitar.
We need it all! Very interested in converting free members to paid:)
Agreed!
More in person events and an easier shop set up. I have customers that want to shop but they can’t due to constant looping.
Can y'all please have more in person events? :/
I literally checked every single option. Everything is so important for creators! 😂
Very true!
I'm interested to learn about tips on how to encourage free members to upgrade to paid ones.
this!
