Wrapping up & next steps

As this course wraps up, it’s important to remember that you do NOT need to try to do everything all at once!

Midnight Burger does a lot. They experiment. They try new formats. They see what sticks. But Joe is clear that none of that works if it comes from pressure or comparison.

You don’t have to do what everyone else is doing

Just because another show has a live tour, physical merch, or a constant stream of extras doesn’t mean you need to do the same. Growth does not come from copying tactics, it comes from choosing what fits your capacity and your audience.

You get to decide what to experiment with.

Your Patreon is not a product—it’s a place

The throughline in Midnight Burger’s success is not a specific monetization trick; it’s the mindset behind it.

Joe describes their Patreon as a home to arrive at, not a product to sell. A space where fans feel comfortable, understood, and part of something ongoing. Where inside jokes make sense and showing up feels good.

When Patreon feels like that, growth often follows naturally.

Define success on your own terms

Sustainable success comes from clarity. Knowing what you can maintain. Knowing what brings you energy. Knowing when to say no.

If you can build a Patreon that feels welcoming to your fans and workable for you, you’re more likely to find success.

🧭 Review your action plan

Make a plan to return to your checklist and work through it over the next month: check off (or revisit) one thing at a time and see the progress add up!

(If you need a copy of the action plan, you can download it at the bottom of the welcome post)

Thanks for watching and learning alongside Joe. Wherever you take your podcast next, we’re rooting for you!
