Quip hall of fame: posts that sparked discovery
We’ve rounded up a few creators using Quips in fun and creative ways to grow their fanbase.
Check out our 8 categories of top favorite Quips below!
1) 💬 Comment kickstarters
The best way to start a conversation is with the right question. These Quips got folks talking, helping creators get their post in front of more fans. They’re direct, fun, and usually invite strong opinions or juicy stories.
Watch What Crappens knows how to get folks talking. Asking who to vote off the island (Love Island, that is), is always a surefire way to get things popping in the comments section.
Other Quips that ace this format include:
Your Turn: Post a Quip that asks your fans a question. It can be light, personal, or totally random — the goal is to get the conversation going.
2) 🎬 Behind the scenes
Fans love seeing what goes into the work, not just the finished product. These Quips show the process, the outtakes, and, of course, the bloopers.
People love to see the polished, final product... but also the space where it gets created. Pawpular Prints did just that: showing off a seriously organized workspace.
Other Quips offering BTS looks include:
Zach Weinersmith showed off an in-progress pic of a recent comic.
Jill Bearup offered some fun findings in her decade-old compost bin
Hannah Witton turns a funning outtake to a Quip that had fans laughing along with her
Your Turn: Share a peek behind the curtain. Post a work-in-progress clip, a quick studio shot, or something that didn’t make the final cut.
3) 💎 Recent gems
These Quips showcase soundbites, clips, or recent masterpieces.
Sketching Scottie posted some gorgeous red brick house paintings. The detailing!
The Sweets: Where Baking & Crafting Meet highlighted a recent win: a delicious-looking cake complete with fresh strawberries 😙🤌
The Last Homely House shared a gorgeous, and giant, stitch project that their audience loved.
Other recent gems surfaced to the feed include:
Your Turn: What recent work makes you proud? Share it in the feed, even if it's just a sneak-peek clip or part of a larger art piece.
4) 🕰️ Throwbacks
A little nostalgia goes a long way. These Quips resurface old hits, milestone memories, or just something you want new fans to see for the first time.
Who doesn't love a pet painting? AnnaBucciarelli shared an oldie but a goodie with some work back from 2015.
The Awkward Yeti posted a delightful throwback of a painting he did that gave him his Patreon's namesake!
BAD stitch went back to Earth Day 2023 to show off a cross stitch Sea Otter.
Other throwbacks we've loved include:
Your Turn: Share a blast from the past: a moment that still makes you laugh, brings back memories, or makes you proud.
5) ❤️ Quips for a cause
Quip for a cause by sharing what matters most to you. Spark awareness, conversation, or action around something you care about.
DnD Shorts is using Quips to raise awareness for their Power World Meal charity drive, inspiring tons of support from the community. This is a great example of how engaging your audience can help creators make a meaningful difference.
Here's another creator who shared a cause they care about:
Your Turn: What matters to you? Quip about it — whether you're raising money or awareness, fans love to learn more about their creators' favorite causes.
6) 🤫 Personal moments
Sometimes the best way to bring in new fans is by getting personal. Share a real moment or thought in the feed and let fans connect with the person behind the work.
Inga Ilze Peterson posted a kind introduction, including her interests and a question to kick off the conversation.
thedaintyheart was real with an intro message: a little nervous, but excited to be in the feed!
We've also loved seeing:
Your Turn: Quip something personal that your fans haven’t seen before — a hot take, a piece of your origin story, or any small detail that shows the you beyond what you create.
7) 🏆 Wins & milestones
Share the moments worth celebrating, from big achievements to small victories that show your progress and keep fans rooting for you. As your audience grows, so does their connection to your journey. They're not just watching, they're cheering you on every step of the way.
Natural Six was proud to show off their audio setup in their D&D studio.
RavenCoven went slightly feral (but fun) with a birthday celebration combined with a discounts and prizes!
We've also loved celebrating:
Your Turn: Fearlessly share a recent triumph, small or big. It could be your latest membership benchmark, recent awards or recognitions, or something more personal.
8) 💭 Your why
Sharing what makes you passionate about what you create can be powerful to share.
Metalsmith Society started creating for a specific reason: to make jewelry education feel more welcoming, and their Quip shares this beautifully.
View into Space gets philosophical on space photography: the sky is open to everyone.
Anthony Vincent shared the power behind filming outdoors, and how it powers his work.
We've also had the privilege of hearing from other creators:
Your turn: You're on Patreon because you're inspired to share what you make. But let fans take a deeper look: What motivates you to create?
Thanks for checking out our Quips Hall of Fame. We can't wait to see what you create!

Hey Waifu, as you mentioned, Patreon video and Quips have started rolling out to 18+ creators too, it's just taking a little longer since there's more work to do on the Trust & Safety side, so we're taking the time to get it right.
