Fans have sent $10 billion to creators on Patreon
Today we’re celebrating a major milestone: $10 billion sent from fans to creators.
That’s big. It’s clear proof of the power of the creator-fan connection. In the twelve years since Patreon was founded, the idea of creators' work being worth paying for has gone from unheard-of to undeniable.
That’s thanks to you.
Maybe you’ve built a studio, turned a side project into a business, or built a thriving community. No matter how the journey has looked for you, we hope this money has given creators like you the freedom and stability to make what excites you.
So today, we want to hear from you. What did earning your first dollar on Patreon feel like? Who was your first paid member? What has your journey here meant to you? Share your stories in the comments!

My First Dollar on Patreon Earning my first dollar on Patreon was more than just money—it was proof that someone believed in my vision. That moment showed me that this journey is not just mine; it’s something worth sharing, worth supporting, and worth building together. I’ll never forget my first paid member. That one pledge felt like a spark that lit a fire. It reminded me that even the smallest beginning can grow into something powerful if we nurture it with passion, consistency, and community. My journey here on Patreon has meant everything to me. It’s given me a place where I can connect with amazing people who believe in what I’m creating, share the behind-the-scenes of building my projects, and remind myself daily that I’m not alone in this mission. Every dollar, every comment, every share—it all adds up to fuel the bigger dream. And for that, I’ll always be grateful. Thank you for being part of this story. The future we’re building together is bright. 💙
Earning my first dollar on Patreon for my crochet patterns felt surreal..it was like someone believed in my creativity enough to support it. My first paid member made me realize this little hobby could become something bigger. This journey has given me confidence and motivation to keep designing patterns that bring joy to others.
That's alot but im a creator on patreon guinea fries official and I have no memberships yet but that's mind blowing
I launched my Patreon (@fretscience) about 15 months ago, and the "side hustle" income from Patreon was a big part of what gave me the confidence to quit my day job and pursue guitar education as a full-time second career. Patreon is now my primary avenue for interacting with my students, and it has become the biggest source of income in my overall business.
I'm a game developer making a citybuilder / action RPG called Avandalair. Started posting about it a year ago including making a patreon page in the hopes of getting some financial support. Till now i have had 0 reach on socials and patreon. So my exp hasn't been great. But congrats on the sweet milestone and everyone else who's done this succesfully. :D
I’m new to Patreon. I am an author. I began with prompts on Twitter to help fellow authors get out of a creative rut and it spiraled into something larger. It is now a published magazine. But I don’t want to charge for submission or copies. Patreon allows people to support the publication and help us expand without creating a barrier to publication or to readers. It’s been a wonderful experience. We had support on day 1 and continue to grow our support base.
I just joined. Publishing my book in a series. I can't wait to have my subscribers. If anyone wants to subscribe and give me hope that would be great :) 😃👍🏽 my page is Standing Eight 💞
Amazing and mind-blowing
Built an amazing Investing & Trading community!
Earning our first dollar was an incredible experience. Like too good to be true. Our journey here has meant so much. We do this for a living and it's incredible to work from home. It's amazing how much we've grown as a Patreon community. And it is inspiring to see this is not the end of this. Sky is the limit!
So many incredible stories of growing communities! You are all really inspiring and authentic creators <3
It helps me know that my work is worth my effort.
Homeless to Housed all documented on Patreon. This has given us our power back while fighting towards stable living. We hope to gain more Patrons as we continue to share our story.
After starting my podcast Deep into History then earning my first Patron was a feeling like no other. It validated my belief in my art. The most magnificent thing is that feeling grows with each new Patron. Having people who love what I create is epically inspiring and a huge responsibility so I seek to constantly evolve my craft so that they can feel how much their support means to me. Though my following is small, they are the most wonderful and inspiring people I have ever had the honor to call my friends. :)
It was the first money I made with something I started completely alone, it was a big step for me, and I love my supporters, I started recently and there are few of them but they are already in my heart. Thanks for that, Patreon.
Been using Patreon for 5 years now, as of March this year, and I am super grateful for the opportunity to have a place to keep my fans updated on the work I do. I was able to start earning the week I initialized my account. These people have been following my creative efforts from the day I started and I owe them a lot for the confidence they helped me grow. Thank you Patreon for the opportunity to have a platform!
I love being a Patreon creator. It has made me make my creativity a priority again. And my Patreon community has become family. I feel lucky and grateful for this platform every day.
My Patreon has been such a blessing. Even though it doesn’t pay all my bills I know I can cover rent because of my art and serving my clients via this platform and that feels incredible. I look forward to serving more and also grateful for the evolutions of the platform so I can add more value to my membership! And the body of work I have created simply by starting imperfectly makes me feel so proud.
A fan introduced me to Patreon in in ~2014 and after a successful launch, it became the first revenue stream for my aviation channel! The Patreon campaign continues to be the single largest support pillar keeping the content creation sustainable, even when accounting for YouTube ad revenue and major industry brand deals and sponsors.
Literally changed my life. Allowed me to take my Football Manager modding full-time
Slowly building and growing my watercolour members. I am learning as I go, (not technical at all) but really enjoying my 'Patreon journey' and would really appreciate any advice on how to expand, thankyou.
I’ve been in Patreon for a few years or so, but I always paused at least 4 months a year to do a vacation, however, Patreon is a platform that give me extra money when my shop isn’t doing good. Thank you! 💛
love :)
Changed my life, I was able to finance multiple projects that went on to become bestsellers and win awards. Could NOT have done it without my Patreon patrons!
I’ve been on Patreon for a little over a year, documenting my travel adventures and it’s been a great experience growing a community here like the community I’m building on YouTube. It’s so awesome to have a platform like Patreon that cares about the independent artist.
Congratulations! I joined Patreon 7 years ago and I love the community I have been able to build here. Possibilities on Patreon have grown in those 7 years and I had quite a learning curve too! Now that my husband is out of work it is an amazing feeling that we still can get by thanks to my income.
I am celebrating one year on Patreon in about 2 weeks. So far, I'm still a tiny fraction of this $10 billion celebration, but I'm working toward a goal and am determined to reach it! Thanks for providing this platform. Otherwise, creators would remain hidden away and unable to share their vision with the world.
Congratulations
It's been just a few months since I joined this 10 billion dollar payout creators list but these few months have been a blast. I started my fanfic at a point when I was at my lowest and somehow that fic blew up. It was also at that time that someone suggested that I create a patreon account as they would like to support me. Then as if a bulb lit up in my mind I did just that and now I have people who gladly pay to read my mediocre writing and due to the money I received from this I slowly started to spend it on myself, to better myself, I started to believe in the good again and patreon platform helped me doing that which is why I don't mind patreon taking away nearly a third of my earnings. Still thank you very much patreon for providing a platform where people like me could feel worthy.
I felt that I could achieve more than a normal worker, but like an author!
I made a patreon when I got over 1000 subs on yt and that has been a very good experience for me. I earned minimal, but, that much was heavenly for me. Thank you, Patreon!
Author here. First time someone was willing to subscribe to my channel to pay for access to my work....amazing. First time my subscriber numbers reached over 100...astounding. Though it has many things I don't like about it, Patreon has been a game-changer for me and for many others. Instead of writing a book and then crossing my fingers that someone will like it when it's published, I can get paid while I write, and hear directly from fans about what the do and don't like. Thanks Patreon for the platform, and especially thanks to all the people willing to actually pay for creations!
Just started Patreon a few months ago, but it has been a very cool experience! Congrats!
Started patreon a year ago, and I'm so glad that there are some people who actually like and value what I'm doing. I truly appreciate the supports from the patrons and the opportunities provided by this platform.
Earning my first dollar on Patreon felt like the universe whispering, Yes, you’re on the right path. I started my Patreon, The Awakened Soul Path, with the dream of creating a sacred space for spiritual growth, healing, and soul remembrance. That very first member, someone who resonated with my message, ignited a fire within me. It was proof that the content I pour my heart into could truly reach and support others. Since then, this journey has been about more than just income. It’s been about connection, community, and empowerment. Every message, every session, every piece of content I share is a piece of my soul and I’m honored to have beautiful souls walk this path with me. Thank you, Patreon, for giving creators like me the freedom to serve with purpose and heart.
Good!
This platform is awesome! Thank you Patreon!
This platform is beginner-friendly, and I’m truly grateful for the blessings I’ve received. I’m also surrounded by amazing members who genuinely support and believe in me. Through Patreon, I’ve come to deeply understand the value and purpose I offer to them. Thank you so much!
Great 👍
I was very surprised that some fans could like my work, and this enthusiasm supported me to create it until now. I feel very proud when I withdraw my income.
Joined P just a little over a year ago and only got two paying members, but even so I found the platform very direct and straightforward in helping music creators like me express themselves. Still lots to add on like the Live Feature for everyone in Europe too and more tools for actually growing/building up community and discovery, but you've gone a long way. Grateful to you Patreon for providing a safe e-commerce haven to us all.
Great 👍🏻
Thank you so much to Patreon! It has become an essential network for growing my business. Long live Patreon!
Doubt that anyone is gonna read this 🙃🎀 but I'm so happy to have my little, although growing community of people that enjoy my Call of Duty themed renders 🥰🥰 I've got everything in one place. Posts, chat and exclusive content! My Patrons inspire me and I'm happily creating more and more content for them to enjoy ❤️❤️ It pleases my heart seeing that they like and comment my work! Makes me want to develop and deliver more complex and ambitious projects! ✨🥰 All thanks to Patreon! 🎉🎉🎊
Congratulations on this huge milestone! 🎉 I still remember the excitement of receiving my very first dollar on Patreon — it felt like a real sign that someone believed in my work. That first supporter gave me the motivation and confidence to keep going, and over time, it has grown into something much bigger than I imagined. Thank you, Patreon, for building a space where creators and fans can connect and make dreams possible. Here's to the next milestone! 🚀
I joined Patreon back when people would respond with "Who, or what?" Now they say I wish I had joined since the very beginning as well. Patreon has changed my life, literally. I went from a struggling nobody creator living on part-time jobs and unemployment to someone who now owns a PC worth more than most people pay for a car. Funny enough, Patreon helped with that, too! I was one of the lucky ones who was granted a "credit" or prepayment, whatever they liked to call it back then, since "loan" was not a good word to use at the time. I paid it off, and it is still going strong. 48GB GPU, 256GB of RAM, and more SSD storage than I know what to do with. When someone asks me, "What do you think of Patreon?" I can't help but look back and think fondly of the days when my income was 0, and then suddenly it had a pulse. Without exaggerating, had it not been for Patreon as a platform existing, I fear to even think about what my life would be like today. So if I am asked today what I think about Patreon, my answer would be... I'm grateful. It is thanks to the platform that I can connect with my community of supporters who have helped me grow over the last decade.
I look forward to seeing what the future has in store for us. Again, thank you for everything.
Well firstly congratulations Patreon. I am still fairly new as a content creator... it is an easy to use platform and in my niche, your standards in terms of privacy, safety and security is vital to me it relates to what I do for a living but beyond that, it a well balanced platform and I am pleasantly surprised just how must effort you put into features that makes it easy for us creators to customize our offerings. Normally I am not big on commenting but I guess I wanted to say thank you.
got my patreon a few months ago, got one payed member...it's not much but it's a start :)
Joined in 2014. Experienced the joy and magnificence of being directly supported by the people who most love my creations. Burned out. Left it. Just relaunched a few weeks ago. Around 8 people have pledged already. Honoured to be back, and to know that this is an option for those of us who want to create FOR CREATION rather than for 'content', an algorithm, or to please a sponsor. Thank you thank you!
As a creator, Patreon has been the bridge between my passion and the people who truly value it. Thanks to this platform, I’ve built a growing community of supporters who believe in my work and motivate me every day to keep pushing forward. That first dollar felt like a spark!!, proof that someone out there cared enough to back my creativity. Now, step by step, I’m turning lifelong dreams and projects into a reality, with stability and purpose. Thank you, Patreon, for empowering creators like me. Here’s to the next $10 billion and beyond!💫
I love this, thank you for sharing! Funnily enough, my base tier is called Spark 😁
Working on my dream, one render at a time. Thanks to Patreon, I can turn passion into progress and build something truly special. Grateful for this platform that helps creators like me bring bold stories to life. ✨
Just over a year in and Patreon is helping me find the people who want to study hand analysis seriously and create a global community of professional hand readers. Thank you.
Well now I'm interested 😁
Hi im a webtoon creator and fantasy artist. And as someone who’s been a Patreon creator for a couple years now, I can say even though I make very little and have a small following I’m so very grateful for what I can get. Since I was little I was told art can’t make you money unless you’re in the wealthy crowd, but I’ve learned through my patrons that everyday passersby may just like my art enough to support me in this way and for that I’m grateful. I hope to someday make a million by sharing my artwork. Thankyou Patreon!
Im a creator of SFW and NSFW "Anime" content, im fairly New here, but my Supporters are helping me a lot to buy my first good Graphic card, so i can continue working on my work! Im very, very Grateful! 🙏🏻💜 Im still waiting for Patreon to implement my Store, so i can start selling some of my Collections too~ Thanks Patreon and Supporters! 💜 Come and visit, Waifu Leveling !
Congratulations to all of us, Patreon team, Creators and fans, for picturing and making a different world, where creativity thrives and commands ✨ It's 5 years since my first dollar on Patreon. It felt like I was building something... And I was. It is the most beaitiful and challenging business I've ever managed. Also the one that gives me creative freedom and has connected me to awesome people that love my work. Keep on building great stuff that empowers creators' creative freedom!
Congratulations, and thank you very much for creating such a fantastic platform of communication between artists and fans as Patreon! We artists are very grateful to you!
Congratulations to the team, and thanks for being a trustworthy platform for us creators
Hi Patreon Team, I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you and celebrate this incredible milestone: 10 billion dollars sent from fans to creators. Thank you for building a platform that gives real value to creative work. Thank you for giving people like me — working in the world of 3D printing — the chance to be supported by a genuine, passionate community. Every single contribution I’ve received means more than money — it's motivation, encouragement, and a reminder to keep creating with heart. Keep going. You're making a real difference. With appreciation, OMBRA3D
Nice job guys I started with nothing and now I have millions thanks to yall
10 billion is huge! I just started recently, and I'm focusing on selling digital products, not on paid memberships...yet! But when I'm ready to to build my community hub, it will be Patreon! Thank you for being so simple, versatile and useful <3
Congratulations Patreon. Don't want this to sound dramatic, but you could've saved my life. I was trapped in an abusive setting, thanks to yours and my patrons support i was not only able to leave and create a safety net, i was able to recover emotionally. Thank you so much!
I'm an NSFW artist and thanks to Patreon I've managed to achieve things I never thought I'd achieve 💓
Congratulations! Awesome! I started in 2017. It felt great! (Privacy! - Someone I know.) It's genuinely been amazing. I have a wonderful small community that help to contribute towards making new dark surreal and sometimes abstract sci-fi and fantasy art ❤️ May there be many more billions~!
Only been on Patreon for about a month now, but I’m loving it so far!
What an insane number, such a mega milestone. Absolutely feels inevitable now, but it's been a long road since Pedals! Literally just launched this week after deliberating for all these years. Cannot wait to see how it grows and develops - my page, and the site in general. Huge congrats team
I’m an NSFW artist and started Patreon this January 2025. I am really happy when I got my first Patron - it made me feel like I’m a real artist. The first thing I did using the earnings here was helping my mom and my sis to her allowance. Yet still small but it really helps when I needed it. My patreon is Harlichan 💕🙈
I've started just recently, building up a community, safe space for all who enjoyed reading dark romance, or spicy romance in general, im creating a fantasy, also working on my first book, which all my members get updates as first. My first earning felt amazing, i felt grateful.. Im looking forward for all the future i experience with my members. My Patreon is DarkBetweenChapters 💜
Congratulations 💗💗 I am super grateful for Patreon, with my classes, I’ve been able to keep myself taken care of financially when dealing with hardship and going to school to chase my dreams.
I've been starting Patreon last year I earn $4,000 in total which is a big help for me ❤️
Congratulations everyone! I am a NSFW artist and have been on Patreon since 2022. Getting my first subscriber was an incredible feeling, and it never changes. Every time I get a new person I'm equally as excited as the first time!
Big congratulations! I only started Patreon just a few months ago, but the support... my god, the support has been so overwhelming, I almost couldn't handle it on launch weekend. I made enough money to cover my monthly expenses with a few days. As someone with a disability, as someone who cannot work a traditional job, this changes *everything* for me. I am very grateful, very humbled, and I can't wait to see how far my creative journey takes me. Thanks Patreon!
Awesome milestones and congratulations . I started patreon in 2017 as a way to create and share adult gay artwork that didn’t really had a platform on social media . Self learning artist and still learning patreon has definitely given me the boost to keep doing and not quitting.
Congratulations! Such a joy to see such growth! I still remember getting my first few subscribers, I was over the moon. Still continuing to grow, the site is so user friendly! Keep it up!
good boy
Well done and Congratulations Patreon. I am so happy with the continuing support I receive from my Patrons, they encourage me to keep producing more videos and give me pleasure every day. Thank you!
my first subscription was so exciting. the idea that someone wanted to pay for my work made me so happy. i still get happy when i get new subscribers.
Congrats Patreon Team! As a newbie-ish small artist, I love the lowkey vibes I get from my Patreon (as well as other artists' Patreons). Sometimes the stress of keeping up on social media is too much and I'd like to take time off those hustling corners of the net. Having Patreon and the few patrons who support me even as I am still figuring things out gives me the calm energy to keep on creating art for myself as well as others <3
Congratulations Patreon! I appreciate the platform you've created for us to share our stories on.
Congrats Patreon team! I’m a native bee scientist and science communicator. My Patreon The Bee Babette has allowed the Beeple to directly fund native bee conservation ( which government and organisations are not!), and provide them with a place they can access my articles and more all in one place .
Congratulations Patreon team! Been here since a while and I'm still learning things. Thank you for the opportunity to share my art on this platform. :D
great achievement
🤩
Congratulations loves ❤️
Congratulations to all creators. Helped to become more independent, thanks for your platform.
I've been on Patreon for 6 years now and it's been an amazing journey thus far. To getting my first sign up (Shout out to Jesse Yarber) to fulfilling a first Patreon only project built along with the Patrons to meeting Jack Conte at Creator Fest and joining the Ambassador program. Been a great ride thus far. Here's to many more years of wonderful community!
Congradulations...you're doing great, keep going. Best to all, Peter Combs
I love it, much better than Instagram Subscribers method..
Awesome <3 congrats <3
Amazing milestone! Congrats, everyone. I started on Patreon in 2016. I kicked it off along with my Intrinsic Paths social media accounts, website, and vision for freeing myself up as a "multidisciplinary walking artist". I knew my pen art, writing, long-distance walks, walk/roll leader training, mobility justice advocacy, and more could ALL belong together. Patreon was the perfect home for those who saw the vision and believed in my work. It continues to be such a nurturing and sustaining space. : ) : )
When I earned my first dollar on Patreon, it felt less like a transaction and more like a heartbeat—a quiet “I believe in you. Keep going." It didn’t feel like a sale. It felt like a promise. My first (and at this time, only) paid member is someone I hold close to my heart, because they showed me that my dream, though still half-formed and flickering, mattered to someone. That the stories I long to share might one day find their wings. I'm still in the early chapters of this journey. I haven't built the castle yet, but hope is the blueprint. And that first dollar reminded me that even a single believer can keep a dream alive.
We did it :D Thanks for all the support
I have only had a creator account for a little less than a year, BUT I am so happy to be apart of this platform! It really challenges me and helps my art business so much! Can't wait to grow more!
I love what patreon has been able to do for my consulting business. Patreon makes it possible to be a financially stable business owner. Nuture your fans and they will show their appreciation back to you!
Through the support of Patreon fans, I was able to go back to school to get my degree in music. I’m grateful for everyone support. I can’t wait to tell everyone about my next chapter. The people who have seen my work and directly impacted my journey will always be such a blessing to me. Patreon has been truly life changing to me.
i released a story online for the first time in my life after getting some encouragement from people online. It was really vindicating to see people read my story. Then, as if to test the waters, I opened a patreon. When people started to pay me I felt like all my efforts in writing had finally bore fruit. It was not much money but I felt like I had finally made it! To know that there are people who wanted to pay me to support my work was really eye opening.
Having my online music community on Patreon has been a game(and life) changer. I am excited to see Patreon grow, improve and help us creators make a living for what we love to do. Thank you!
Ohh! I remember my first membership was $4.99 .
I'm new here on Patreon, because it's only year, but that's the best and stable platform in whole universe. Never change guys. You help for everybody a lot and me too :))
Patreon has helped me to fund milestones with my board game that I wouldn't have otherwise been able to achieve. I don't earn much, but being able to pay the domain fee, or new inks for my printer, paper and card for prototypes has helped ease the financial burden massively. Creating a board game isn't cheap, this platform has helped make this possible.
Patreon has been my home on the web for the last few years. I sort of squatted on my URL for a decade or so while working as a corpa drone, and now that the fake economy is over, I have turned my Patreon page into my main blog and social media presence on the web. It's very uniquely me with no guard rails. I think of it like "busking as a homeless creative on the Internet," and I want to thank Patreon so much both for helping me recover my account when I lost my 2FA/Gmail access and providing a place on the web where I can be me while accepting spare change for expressing myself. Thank you so much! Keep up the amazing work and congratulations on your first 10B. 🎊
So Brilliant
I struggled to believe that what I created had value. Patreon allowed people to connect with me, to support my work, but it really helped me to believe a little more in myself. It's allowed me to selfishly pursue what I love, spreading whumpy edits, while still giving back to my family. Forever a huge fan, dear Patreon ❤️
🥰 happy to be on this platform
I've been on Patreon for a while already. Right now, I have grown a community, and I'm quite happy with the opportunity of being my own boss as a novel author. thanks you. <3
I received my first dollar and many more to go, I write novel and earn money through Patreon through people support, I'm very grateful, that this app was made it changed many life's and more to come.
Working here these past seven months has helped me tremendously. I've been able to work in what I love most, and in the process, I've been able to help my family.
🥰🥰🥰
To be honest, I wasn’t sure if I can earned any for the first time but later on I’m gaining more but still need to get better at it.
Hi! I created my page and went live January of this year! While I am struggling a little bit getting people to sign up, getting that first $1 was exhilarating! My page is about Spirituality. I am a Medium and LOVE teaching people about their own intuition as well as giving psychic and messages from their departed loved ones. I had been searching for the perfect platform for me and THIS IS IT! Thank you for creating this for all of us!!!
I was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year. It was the support of my Patreon community that really helped me through the dark days. I knew if they were financially contributing to my life, then they were invested & they cared. So I could share my real feelings, step by step through the process & it meant so much to me. Many of them sent me cards which I keep in a special ‘love’ box. I’m in remission now & I continue to grow my Patreon community. It’s my space to really share my life, not just my creative gifts.
Yes absolutely, it showed me what a valuable asset I have with my Patreon community. I have a YouTube channel, but I don't feel I can be as vulnerable there. Too many trolls, but I feel safe with my Patreon community and in turn they get the best of me, it's a great space, I really appreciate your platform xx
Me with my only subscriber, but continuing to grow
I’ve been using Patreon since last year— it’s been a blast so far. I can finally monetize and provide my photography as a service to interested people. I hope to grow even more in months to come. Thank y’all for making this possible.
As a creator from Uganda, joining Patreon has honestly been one of the best things I’ve ever done. So many platforms out there don’t allow payouts to Africa, but Patreon made it possible — and that changed everything for me. Because of the support I receive each month, I’ve been able to do so much: support orphans, provide healthcare, share food with communities in need, and build something truly meaningful. I’m really grateful. Without Patreon, doing all this would have been so hard. Thank you for making this possible 🙏🏾
Started Patreon as an artist over a decade from now. Back then it was both hard and simple depending whatever was working on. Almost gave up after first three months, it was silence but got a few supports/donations after started a trending theme. But they did help a lot and encouragement was there. I remember my first paid member. He/she may stop support me for a long time ago, but I still remember that one mild moment. My journey is filled with hardships, tough decisions and dire situations (financially). But a few members that shared portion of their minds, helps me see the bright side through my darkest moments. Saying and thinking "temporary" over a decade ain't that healthy, "change" has to settle in. So, I do wish me, and everyone else earning on Patreon, gets to meet more supporters for the upcoming days Happy $10 billion, Patreon!
Honestly, when I started it, I wasn't expecting to get subscribers at all. It was more of a backup for my stories after I ran into a few moderation hiccups on other sites. A self-owned and managed Patreon page seemed like the perfect failsafe. The tiers and subscriptions were more of an afterthought. So, imagine my surprise when I got my first paid member. It was exhilarating, but it was also scary. Because now, it was no longer just about me. People liked my writing enough to pay money for it. Which meant now I owed them my best performance. I did not always deliver it. I struggled with deadlines and time management and motivation. I gained members, and I lost members, including those I valued a lot. But the experience was, if nothing else, educational. Now, about a year later, I'd say we're going reasonably strong as a community, and the tidy little sum I pull in monthly doesn't hurt either.
Holaaa
When I received my first dollar back in October, it felt pretty good, it's only been one supporter but they've helped a ton. The paid member just so happens to be my Discord friend and I can't cherish their support enough. I really hope to eventually get more supporters but that will take time. Happy $10 billion.
When I received my first dollar on Patreon, I thought: “Wow… this actually works.” That first week, I put all my energy into sharing my creations with fans — and they responded with kindness and encouragement. I’ll never thank them enough, because thanks to their support, I’m now turning a dream into something real. Even though I’m still far from making a living from this passion, one year in, the results are promising. Thank you, Patreon. ❤️
I've been on Patreon since 2015 and thought I don't have a lot of patrons I still have many of those first year patrons. That is so meaningful to me. Before Patreon I created in spurts, sometimes with months or years between artworks. This is primarily due to not only the lack of interest from those closest to me, but from their downright discouraging remarks that made me doubt myself. Since getting my first patron, I have been consistently creating. The accountability I feel towards even just one patron keeps me going when family and self-doubt would have stopped me. When I don't feel sure of myself, just knowing that even just one person cares enough to send me a dollar every month is enough to get me to make something. In the past I could let myself down, but I can't let down my patrons. And that one dollar gives me permission to create when others tell me to give up. That one dollar is the golden ticket.
Wow, congrats, that's an incredible achievement! Our first paid members (we got three around the same time) were two of my good friends and my mom. Two of them are still with us years later! Their support was a purpose to keep putting out content, and while we didn't grow past them for a long while, we're now up to almost 450 (paid and nonpaid) patrons! Patreon has shaped the way we share our work, what we're up to, and more. And with Itch.io being part of the recent controversy, Patreon is looking more and more like our primary home for our work (we currently sell on Itch and have subscriptions for our work here). Thanks, Patreon! 🧡
It was surprising to get my first supporter. it wasn't very much, and I still don't make very much monthy, but I do appreciate my few supporters. I don't want to let them down, though it is admittedly quiet a challenge to make ends meet while still trying to provide value to those who are currently onboard. Just trying to keep praying and keep going. Thank you, Patreon, for existing as a platform that helps creators. I appreciate you all trying your best to listen to the community and improve things every day. God bless and much love to all. 🥺🙏🫂❤️🩹
