You know better than anyone that tied up in the title of “creator” is about a dozen other jobs: video editor, podcast producer, social media specialist, community manager… The list goes on. Today, we’re introducing even more tools that take some of the hard work out of growing your community, so you can focus on making what excites you.
Make it easy for fans to find you
🗣️ Recommendations are open to everyone
Last month, we told you about the new Recommendations tab, where you can highlight your favorite Patreon creators and share why your fans might love them too. It’s now available to all creators, including those who create work for 18+ audiences.
Creators giving and receiving recommendations have already seen effortless community growth. In August, Sarah of AdorkaStock saw 28% of her first-time paid monthly memberships come directly from fellow creators' recommendations. Get tips for how to cross-promote with other creators, then try it out for yourself.
🔍 Search and find new creators
You and your fans have asked for better search and discovery on Patreon. With the new Explore tab, anyone can explore popular categories and find new creators based on their individual interests and current memberships. In testing, we saw that, on average, creators featured on the Explore tab saw an increase in free and paid memberships.
Available to creators whose work is for all audiences. We’ll also expand search and explore improvements to creators of 18+ work by the end of November.
Earn more without the extra effort
💸 Sell individual posts and collections
You can now offer more ways for fans to enjoy your new and existing work. They don’t need to commit to a monthly membership, and you can get even more value out of your work. In early testing, we saw over 45% of purchases came from fans new to creators’ Patreon communities.
Singer and music teacher Gracie Terzian is already benefitting from more fans accessing her work in new ways. After offering individual music classes from her membership as one-time purchases, she’s seen a 20% increase in her monthly Patreon earnings. See how creators like Gracie and Cassie of Popcorn in Bed are increasing their earnings by selling posts and collections.
To get started, try listing a post or collection for sale in your Library tab.

🚀 Run automatic promotions to drive free member upgrades
Autopilot gives you an easy and automatic way to encourage your free members to upgrade to paid memberships. Patreon will send an email to free members who seem likely to upgrade with a discount for their first month. So far, Autopilot has improved the rate of free-to-paid membership upgrades by an average of 19%. (Don’t forget — you can also now track your own free member upgrades on your Insights dashboard!)
Head to your Promotions tab to turn on Autopilot and keep an eye out for additional Autopilot features coming soon.
💲Offer product discounts in your shop
Also in the Promotions tab, you can set up custom discount codes for digital products to encourage more fans to make a purchase. Create product-specific offers or discount your entire shop to lower the barrier to entry for fans who want to see what your work is all about.
In the coming months, keep an eye out for more features that make growing your Patreon easier, from additional promotional tools to Autopilot improvements.

I joined Patreon a few months ago. Just wondering is it possible to grow even-though I have only a small You tube Channel. Do people grow with making only Patreon content or how is it promoted to help creators?

Sounds good! Question about the selling of collections: If someone buys a collection, and then further down the line in the future, I add more content to that collection, does the buyer get the new content added to collection after purchase? Or am I unable to keep adding new content to a collection once its sold for an amount? Thanks

We need a time tier feature. One post that costs 20$ in a week be accessible to those who are 10$, in two weeks 5$, etc... Otherwise I have to create 5 new posts that are exactly the same one every single month.... And it shouldn't be that complicated...
18+ creators need "SHOP" feature.

Those news sound great. Hosting videos for 18+ creators would be a big improvement too.. I'm actually running an only fans account just to share some videos there with my patrons as I didn't find a better solution. 🤯
Yes, it would be a nice improvement if Patreon platform finally could made it possible for anyone (who is at least 18 years old) to search for 18+ Content creators inside the platform.

Well, I hope that works for me, because it is turbulant time for me, since introduction of age verification, I lost every paying customer.
We really NEED an option to save TEMPLATES for POLLS. Every month I need to do them manually and it takes a lot of unnecessary time to put in all my characters names by hand. I have nearly 20 Characters for 3 different Tiers of Wallpapers, which means I need to fill in 60 names manually again and again. Please add a Template feature, I'm sure it will be beneficial for everyone.
The new features on Patreon are looking promising...I was at a plateau here.. hoping this creates a ripple effect and I start getting some more people signed up.

Are we allowed to create essentially blank posts to sell them as a way to get people to donate rather than subscribe if they prefer not to subscribe?
What would be an incredible update is if the "Sell individual posts and collections" feature worked for every creator! I'm super interested in that feature if it ever goes live for 18+ creators too
I wish I could just give first time members a code that gives them a certain percentage (set by me) off their first month, or that I could offer the same for any member in any month. I'm losing members faster than ever despite offering the cheapest membership available. Please make this happen.

Is it possible to allow discount promotions for new subscribers? My understanding is the discount offer is only for creator shops? Would love to drive subscriptions up with the enticement of a one-time discount.
I would like to have the option to explain what the free membership means, in my case that they do not have access to any videos or content. That the free membership gives them nothing, or almost nothing. But than I can tell them to take the payable memberships. Now I can’t edit the free membership at all.
I would like to have a free membership tier which I can edit and tell them what they get for free. At the moment they get a standard text. If this free tier is next to the payed tier they can compare and decide what they want to do. At the moment there is just a bottom not a tier like the others. Patreon can for example to have both, bottom or free tier, so the creators can decide which one they want to use. Thank you
I think they should take the “ FREE “ option off of patreon and leave it “ paid “ for the creators. The free option costed me to lose over .. “ONE HUNDRED AND FOURTY” PAYING memberships. Cause they saw the FREE option and downgraded. This costed my an extra 1k a month & causes me to lose money every other month and makes it HARDER for creators to make money FASTER.

Great to see improvements coming to search… How does one get featured on Explore? I’m also very much looking forward to the GIFTING option, which wasn’t mentioned here, but I understand it is coming. 🤓
