How to boost your earnings by selling posts & collections | ft. Popcorn in Bed

Some fans aren’t ready for a monthly membership, and some are only interested in one specific benefit you offer. You can give those fans more flexibility by selling individual posts and collections as one-time purchases. On average, about 75% of one-time purchases come from fans paying the creator for the first time.

"At first I was hesitant… I would rather them sign up for the subscription and I don’t want to lose people doing that. But this is a different audience looking for a lower price point or just a certain thing,” says Cassie of Popcorn in Bed, who sells reactions to specific movies and collections of franchises in addition to her membership. Now those fans can access exactly what they want, and you can unlock a new way to earn from the work you’re already creating.

To get started, just choose the post or collections you’re interested in selling, set a price, and let your fans and free members know.

Choose something you know fans love

  • Begin by selling work that you know your fans are looking for, like Cassie does with her most popular movie reactions and series (Lord of the Rings, anyone?). Check out your post insights to see which posts your fans are loving most.

Set a price based on your goals

  • If the work you’re selling is exclusive or bundled, consider setting a higher price point. Cassie’s individual reactions are $3.99 to match the cost of renting a movie on Amazon, and her franchise collections are $15 (which incentivizes fans to purchases of the full collection).

  • Compare the price of your work to your membership tiers. If your goal is to provide a more accessible entry point, you might price it at the same level or lower than your tier pricing.

  • Don’t hesitate to adjust your pricing strategy over time based on fan feedback and sales performance.

Promote it to your fans and free members

  • Publish a free member only post to notify your community about posts/collections for sale.

  • Share the news on your other platforms like Cassie does, and point fans to your Patreon page, or share a promo card linking directly to your post for sale.

I agree this is great for people who do not wish to pay a monthly subscription. It offers flexibility to make one time purchases.

This is great. I have multiple collections that could be partitioned into package sales...can't wait to try...nervous but excited.
