After Valery threatened him, Gleb decided to quit his job and prepare for the day Valery would be released.
Without offering any explanation, Gleb ended things with Kira coldly and harshly. At the time, Kira was already pregnant and knew it, but Gleb leaving her was such a devastating blow that she decided not to tell him about the pregnancy. Gleb cut off all contact with her, knowing that once Valery was free, everyone close to him would be in danger. Gleb possessed the recordings that could destroy Valery's life. To protect the people he loved, he severed every relationship and moved to the opposite side of the country, hoping that by disappearing he could keep both himself and his loved ones safe.
The moment Valery walked out of prison, he was taken under the wing of the Academik's family. He met the Academik's mother, the woman who now ran the entire family business, and promised her that he would find her son's killer and make him pay. For a while, Valery lived in the Academik family's home and relied on their money while they helped him through the legal process of claiming his inheritance.
Three years later, Valery finally inherited his enormous fortune: vast amounts of real estate, land, and forest hunting estates with recreational lodges, everything that had once belonged to his father. Having become suddenly wealthy, Valery turned into a public figure. His story once again dominated the news, this time as the tale of a man who unexpectedly became the heir to a fortune.
Kira gave birth to a daughter and named her Alice. She became a single mother and struggled to find stable work. Kira's parents who had persuaded her to keep the baby refused to help her once Alice was born. Life was difficult for both of them, and three years later Kira was forced to move in with a friend temporarily because she could no longer afford to rent a place of her own.
Gleb disappeared from everyone's sight. Throughout those years, he did everything he could to stay off the radar. Every now and then, though, he would check the news, only to find new photographs of Valery attending yet another charity gala or high-profile public event.

Wait-WAIT-WAIT!! Valery marries Gleb’s ex-girlfriend, Kira, and raises Alice as HIS KID!! This is so evil bruh 😭😭 His manipulation is crazy!! Simultaneously providing a “safe” and comfortable living for Kira & Alice, while using their proximity to him as a tool to keep Gleb from acting rash about exposing the camera footage. I feel like this situation is very titillating to Valery as well, because Gleb is still wrapped around his finger — except now Valery’s true nature is on full display for Gleb to witness Sasha, you’re feeding us too GOOD 😮💨🫡
