⚠️[Temporary Delay] - Hardware Failure - PC Diagnosis
MODS CONTENTS UPDATE POSTPONED
Hello everyone,
I wanted to give you a more detailed update regarding the current situation.
I’m currently dealing with a hardware issue causing my main PC to shut down instantly under heavy 3D/GPU load.
At the moment, the exact cause is still being diagnosed, but the problem appears to be related to PSU/GPU power delivery.
The bad news...
Right now, I strongly suspect that my power supply is reaching the end of its life and is causing these hard shutdowns.
The PSU remains the main suspect, but I still need to completely rule out the GPU and motherboard before I can be certain.
A PSU failure would obviously be annoying, but it would still be one of the more manageable outcomes.
The GPU being the actual problem would currently be the worst-case scenario for me, especially considering the price of replacing a high-end graphics card today.
The motherboard would also be a significant issue, but financially, a failed GPU would definitely be the most painful outcome.
And apparently, the PC is really starting to show its age...
This machine has been running for quite a few years now, and I'm still running it on Windows 10 (with Windows Update Extra year support), so at this point it is becoming increasingly obvious that a more substantial rebuild is getting difficult to avoid.
I already started buying replacement PC parts here and there back in late 2025, with the intention of progressively rebuilding/upgrading the system.
Unfortunately, 2026 has turned out to be an extremely bad time to replace high-end PC hardware, especially when it comes to GPU pricing, which has considerably slowed down that process.
Hopefully, the PSU really is the only major component responsible. If that's the case, the repair should remain relatively straightforward.
If it's the GPU... well, that's definitely the outcome I'm hoping not to see right now...
HARD OFF
🔴 Dark Power Pro 1200w PSU - internal fault/protection?
🟠 RTX 2080 Ti OC 11 GB - electrical anomaly that may trigger the PSU?
🟠 ASUS PRIME X399 Motherboard - power circuit?
🟡 HYTE Y70 PCIe riser ~
🟢 Lian Li Strimer - largely ruled out
🟢 Overheating - not observed
Because of all this, DSMS development and other mod releases may be temporarily affected while I finish diagnosing the system and replace whichever component is actually responsible for the shutdowns.
Either way, I’ll do everything I can to get the system stable and fully operational again as soon as possible.
I’m really sorry for any delays this may cause for upcoming mods, updates, DSMS development, or other content.
Thank you very much for your patience, understanding, and continued support! ❤️
I’ll keep you updated as soon as I have a definitive diagnosis.
