Updates on some stuff

Hello! How's everyone doing?

It seems people is somewhat liking ACM3 but not Anomaly Cafe. Understandable! Though production is already on the way for both games. Might focus more on ACM3 though, but from this reception, Anomaly Cafe might end up a much smaller game since I plan to finish it and wrap it up much sooner.

I'm making another new game that should be much different that anything I've ever done so far. The image above will be the art style, but here's another concept art of the game:

Rest assured I'm still very focused on the development and production of ACM3, and there are already updates coming for ACM 1 and ACM 2, with some major plans for the future of ACM 1 coming on the way.

Content updates on the itch builds will be slowed down as well, to give my Patrons more rewards for their support.

I have team members now, so no need to worry on me splitting my head on the development of ACM 1, 2 and 3. Anomaly Cafe is a chill game to make, and FLESHBREAK is done. This new game is a bit tricky but I'm personally handling it so it shouldn't be a hassle.

I'm reading everywhere that people are starting to get tired of my "coffee machine" games so that's why I'm experimenting with new games now. I'm just not sure if I'll ever make a really good game but I'll still try.

Anyway, talk to you soon my friends, and stay tuned for updates in the coming weeks and months!

Hi Horu, I just met you some days ago so I am 100% not tired of your ACM games lol. Btw, I want to play them but it seems that Steam has not all content (since I did not find the deluxe edition of the 1st game), so if I want to get all the content should I buy the >= Goddes suscription of the patreon? PD: edit for typo

I'm not Horu, but i CAN answer your question. ACM1 on steam is the full version in it's entirety. Now, if ACM1 is blocked in your region, like it is for me, then your better bet is patreon for 9,99 :)

Hey Horu can you check out a h game called "SCP :Nexus"? The artstyle is really interesting in it and the story is great

I think ACM3 has the potential to be the best game you have ever made.

Hi Horu! Big fan of your work, I've played all your games and even made some videos about them! I think my biggest issue I'm not sure if I'm playing the game correctly because I'll get customers requesting drinks that I don't know how to make and end up turning them away. I'd like to experiment and figure out how to make their drinks but I'm always cutting it so close with the time limit I end up making mistakes and getting more negative feedback from the game. I like the vibes of it but the time limit makes it really hard for me to enjoy it, I'd like more time or maybe a mode where I could go at my own pace and explore and experiment a little before being thrown right in. I'm excited to play AC3 when it comes out!

So, let me say a few things, because they are very important to me: Your games are only as good as you yourself give them credit. Of course, your fans need to enjoy them too, but do you think with all the passion put into cheat sheets and all, they don't? So please, do think of them as (really) good! The art most certainly is, and they work well. I believe one core part of it will be that they end up fully bug-free, because then, they will feel concluded/truly finished. Nightmare cup? :P Having clarity on what you, as customer, get (on itch, patreon, steam, Horubrain website), would be really nice. It took me about 30 minutes to figure out what i needed to buy. A clear statement on the ACM1/2 itch pages on what the issues with those versions are (and why outdated); a free for everyone post on patreon maybe to explain all the tiers and situation with itch and steam as well (living in germany is crap if you wanna get pornographic content off of steam) - and the website should function. Throwing a lot of different things against the wall and see what sticks is not a great approach, because eventually, people will start to doubt that you'd finish what you start due to the sheer amount of stuff you do. This is trust you will never earn back, and you should really look into making people believe in that again. Anomaly Cafe and ACM3 - you say people are bored of ACM games, and yet Anomaly Cafe SEEMS to be less popular? I think this has a reason for it, and a possible fix: I think many people, such as me, are a bit concerned about the amount of things you wanted to take on at once, and are sceptical about the situation, whether all of it can be done (by one person). It looses trust is the bitter truth of it all. I think the best wayto handle this is to put other things to the side for now, focus to get one of those games finished, then the other, really depending on which one you feel more passionate about making currently. Further, you aren't selling either yet. So there is still the option to never go ahead to make it a commercial product, if it ends up draining you too much, just releasing one as a free, basic version in the end. As for how to fix Anomal Cafe being less popular, maybe ask for WHAT the players think is not as great, instead of just "are you excited about it". Blank out any criticism that just says "bad" (delete it really), and discuss things that contain ideas possible ideas. Do this for maybe a day or two before closing that discussion. Might help finding inspiration and new passion. Lastly, i hope that you are doing well, take good care of yourself (you having a team now is incredible news that i am really happy about, because i truly hope you can feel a bit of pressure dropping off of you) and will be doing well in the future.

Passion for the craft is very undervalued in game development. It might feel one-sided, especially when people give negative feedback. I can't help but feel like a lot of what you're saying stems from the FLESHBREAK concept. What I want to emphasize is that us as consumers can really tell when a game is made with passion and when it's rushed through. I completely agree with the sentiment of this comment: you should work on the game you're passionate about. If you're having fun creating it, we're going to have fun playing it. Trust the process!

Can someone explain me how to get mods in ACM1?
