Weekly report Number 46.

Hey there... Another weekly update.

Finally, good news... Version 0.4 will officially be out this Monday, January 27th. I still don’t know the exact time, but it’ll definitely be that day.
I’ve still got a few things left to finish, but I’m prepared for the worst-case scenario so I don’t get overwhelmed with last-minute work.

For those who are new here (and there seem to be quite a few), this is the first time I’ve faced a delay like this. Before, I was always able to roll out updates every three months. One of them even came out in just two months... But this update turned out to be a real challenge. At one point, I ended up without a computer and had to quickly build one from scratch. Then came Christmas with everything that brings, plus my real-life job, which went from part-time to almost full-time for two weeks.
Without all of that, I’m pretty sure I would’ve stayed within the three-month deadline I set for myself, but, well, life sometimes has other plans that don’t line up with yours.

In the comments of the report I made two days ago, I mentioned that I wasn’t planning to do another text review anytime soon because the Prologue left me totally drained... Well, there you go... a perfect example of what I was just talking about. I forgot about a little detail... Not everything in this new version had the same improved translation style, only the second half did. So the very next day, I had to eat my words and review the first half. Not sure if anyone can notice the difference right now...
What I’m writing here is in Spanish and then fully translated by ChatGPT with similar parameters to what I’ve been using in the game. Before, I used to translate everything myself and then review it with Google Translate, and sometimes with ChatGPT. But once I realized you can tweak various parameters and have GPT remember them (instead of using the default simple translation), so it translates with your preferred style, I’ve been relying entirely on ChatGPT.

I still don’t know how much extra gameplay there is because I was so exhausted after the review that I completely forgot I needed to play through what I’d done... But I’m absolutely sure it’s already well over an hour.
Honestly, my head’s still a bit fried, and I don’t have the patience right now to dive deep into all the numbers, so I’ll share those with you this Saturday in the next Status Report.
Something happened (I’m telling my Patrons about it in a separate post right now) that had me cracking up laughing and also losing my patience for a moment... But it’s all good. Monday, the game is DEFINITELY coming out.

🥰

(But that doesn't mean I won't be happy if a new version comes out on Monday ^^)

Yo... I just wanted to say, don't stress out so much! I suddenly got a lot of emails, and realized you were setting yourself some sort of extra pressure to finish. tbh, it might be a good idea - but only to fend off procrastination. I can't speak for all Patrons, but personally, I don't very much mind delays with this sort of thing. Especially if they are not in the range of years, but rather weeks or a few months at most. I play AVNs as a side thing when I feel like it, and I play several. So it's fine for me if one of them updates each month, as I always get something new when I want. Of course, if I were *only* playing your game, I might be more annoyed that there's no new version :P But as it is, I am following your progress with interest, but feel like you are delivering just fine, especially considering the hardware problems earlier. If you suddenly delay 0.4 to July cause you want to go on vacation for three months, I will get annoyed, sure. But if you don't, no need to stress out! Patreon is for the long term! Sometimes when I'm feeling a bit tipsy or sth, I like to think that Patreon is what the Italian Renaissance lords used to be be when they supported the painters and sculptors and the like. Except I'm not actually a lord except by nickname, and I am not rich XD But the idea is to give the artist money, to trust the artist - and unless said artist produces nothing at all for years, you just wait and occasionally check in. "Yo Michelangelo, you still working on that piece? Yeah? Oh, that sketch looks incredible! Well... carry on then, and let me know once you're finished, eh?"
