Weekly report Number 33.
Hi friends.
This week has been a real piece of crap...
It started off great and little by little more and more things started coming up that left me stressed. But first to what interests you and then the Blah Blah... I have 49 new images this week (and more than 20 waiting to be rendered, but those don't really count unless they are fully ready). Quite a few actually, I'm sorry but it was out of my control...
The first thing that caused me delays was the making of the wallpapers. Adding and adding time I lost around a full day preparing the images. Unfortunately not everyone can see the results of that work, because somehow I have to keep happy those who are contributing financially, fulfilling all that was promised.
In the middle of the week my old computer started having problems with its power supply. The fan started making a horrible noise, something like metal scraping against metal, and overheating. It's not the first time this has happened and I always solve it by bringing a desk fan directly to the cabinet that I keep open. But this time the noise was so persistent that I couldn't leave anything rendering at night because I can't leave the fan on all night. So for two nights I couldn't do anything.
Tired of the little problem I decided once and for all to buy a new power supply instead of waiting a bit and buying a new and much larger capacity hard drive (which I also urgently needed) and that's where the stress began...
I bought this piece of shit: https://www.wei.cl/producto/62D98CB053
It's something like 20 dollars.
The piece of shit came defective and I had to go back to the store to try to get a replacement under warranty. But I wasn't going to try to get another one of those identical pieces of shit because I lost all confidence in the product. And the other power supplies on that site are either much worse or much more expensive... So I thought about the hard drive again.
I put in a little more money and added the refund for the power supply and bought a modern 1 terabyte hard drive (my hard drive in use right now is 149 gigs and I have less than 6 gigs of free space left, and it's getting a little less each time).

About 40 dollars... Everything perfect... except that I forgot something in my hurry...
My hard drive is IDE and the new one is SATA and I didn't buy the stupid data cable. I don't have any compatibility issues. My motherboard and the power supply support SATA, I had already checked that when more than a week ago I started thinking about replacing the hard drive.
But since I didn't have it planned for yesterday and my head was somewhere else thinking about what would happen if I couldn't get the defective power supply replaced, I forgot the SATA cable completely... Stupid.
The store where all this happened sells SATA cables, but it's too far from my house to go there and waste time again for a simple cable. So I'll see if I can find a nearby option...
So here I am, with a noisy power supply (I've cleaned it as best I could but it still needs replacing) and a hard drive sticking its tongue out at me, mocking me, as if to say "look here asshole, you could be using me and you can't, hahaha"...
As I always say, that's life... And that's Murphy's stupid law. Everything that can go wrong, will go wrong, and no matter how capable you think you are, it will always catch you off guard.

Man I haven’t heard of IDE cables since the 2000s. 😆 Glad you could get an upgrade! With the SATA connection you will see much better transfer speeds. Good luck hunting down a data cable!
