Real World Maps - The United States of America - 1:250 scale

This work is a representation of the contiguous United States of America, part of Canada, Mexico, Cuba and Bahamas on a 1:250 scale for Minecraft

Features

  • Terrain elevation data from NASA DEM 30m (at 1:250 scale, however, it's really smoothed)

  • Ocean/Sea, beaches, rivers and lakes from OpenStreetMap data

  • Biomes based on real world land cover data from USGS data

  • JourneyMap waypoints of the more populous cities in the map for a better exploring experience

Love this so much! If I might ask, why is the height squished so much? Is that essentially natural, given the scale? I'd love to see a version with significantly magnified height, such that you can get a sense of the water features across a state. Amazing work!

Thank you! The height is really smoothed because of the scale, since a block in the game corresponds to 250m in the real world. For this reason the elevation change is not really appreciable. If you are interested in a more detailed map, there's a 1:88 scale map of the USA where the elevation change is way more important, but consider that this one is also bigger: https://www.patreon.com/posts/real-world-maps-104793649
