WIP #90
Hey everyone!
It feels a lifetime ago but in reality it was last week when I last checked in. After the marketplace announcement I felt really down and had very little motivation to be online and be active here or on Tumblr. I took the entire week off and haven't touched Blender at all. I only did some research on how to do the custom books.
Then a started working on the next part which will be the last Quiet Corner set, focusing on a lounge area. I managed to finish a sofa set which I hope will work for living rooms too.
And now, after the official launch of the marketplace I'm in the same place again. Feeling guilty, sad and lacking passion. I feel overwhelmed and tired. I understand the negative feedback but I can't change the past. I want to talk to you all but at the same time I feel really small and afraid to open up. I'm sorry if I caused any negative feelings with my actions, I didn't mean to.
I don't want to loose the connection we have, I like to talk about my thoughts while creating a collection and have your feedback that shapes the end result. I'm trying to be present and answer to everybody but it's hard because on top of the current situation I am extremely introverted. If you decide to leave my community, I understand your desicion and accept it. If you're staying, I am really grateful and thank you!
I'm trying to focus on creating the next part of Quiet Corner and honestly, I really look forward to start something else after it because in a way these negative feelings got connected with this collection and I don't feel the same love for it as before.
Lastly, if you had problems with my CC not showing up after the latest update there should be a hotfix for it now. They messed up something so the game didn't read all package files in the mods folder but today it got fixed. But I still suggest don't update your game if you use mods or CC just to be sure.

Please don't be down. I found your content because it was on the marketplace. Had it not been there, I would have missed out on your amazing creations
My biggest issue with marketplace is not because is just a way for EA to get money, but some many people has their game broken and not launching and honestly I’m scared that In the future they’ll make that only CC from the marketplace will be accepted in the game. Thats my biggest issue here. I have no problem on supporting creators in any way I want, I don’t wanna be forced to pay just to get a CC, i need the choice. Hope you’ll feel better but that’s disappointing.
I probably won't buy from the Sims 4 Marketplace, I didn't from the Sims 3 Store, but it is how I discovered your content a couple of weeks ago. Just wanted to say thank you for putting yourself out there - I love every bit of your cc and am excited to have it in my game.
For some reason the gaming community are some of the most vicious and toxic "fans" you'll ever see online. The only villains here are the ones buying ea, but they're unreachable, so people start turning on each other to express their frustration, like dogs sharing a cage. As long as you keep offering your own independent content on patreon, which you already said you will do, people who understand the complexity of the situation will continue to support you.
the marketplace would've been an okay/good idea if ea wasn't being so scummy about it. if you creators are chill getting paid pennies on the hundo for your hard work that's awesome, but we the players should have been given a fair chance to opt out of installing the marketplace update to protect our free cc painstakingly created by not just y'all but THOUSANDS of other independent cc creators who aren't even involved with ea, not this backtracking nonsense. speaking of those other creators, what about them? OUR GAMES WON'T LOAD. we can't load their content, meaning no one will pay for THEIR patreons anymore. no one will give money to THEM. sorry you feel guilty enough about the implications of your own actions to keep promoting and working for ea though i guess?
Well EA announced you can leave the program at any time, if you feel guilty about it just leave the program. You're a good creator, you don't need EA. Best of luck.
I´m feeling so bad around all this stuff and all this hate. This is my happy place, I don´t have any space for the hate. Can´t understand all the people. Hate the Company, not the Creator.. I hope you can find your creativity and joy to making the pretty stuff for us in the future - but if you need to rest - please do it. take care of yourself!
I personally will not be supporting the market place in any way, shape or form. But your CC was the only one making me consider for even a moment, so I decided to follow you. I am vehemently against the Marketplace. I think you can still make the decision to leave, especially with the stuff Simandy has released. Not just for what it stands for, but honestly, for your mental health. It seems to have removed a lot of your passion, I am so sad to hear that. Take a break to find joy in it again, is what I would recommend. I know right now it probably feels like the world is against you. You see your name in posts, you're being called out. But from what I read, you and the other Content Creators were hardly informed at all about what it actually meant. It's intense now, but it will pass, I promise. I would just step back from social media right now, it'll be a wave of posts for at least a week or two.
this is so sad, i'm sorry you've been feeling regret over what should have been a great opportunity and achievement. EA sucks but that's not on you. please be proud of your talent and beautiful work. you don't deserve any hate or harassment, and certaintly shouldn't feel guilty. any hate should be directed at the billion dollar corporation and decision makers; creators can't do anything about what EA chooses to do. personally i think the biggest issue is the abysmal 30/70 cut - people should be more outraged at the greed of this corporation, not regular people taking a job. people act like they're on a moral high ground, but 9/10 they would absolutely take an opportunity like this if they could, and probably work for equally evil corporations as well, or buy exported products from countries with exploitative practices that they are so quick to get on a soapbox about. sorry but yelling at a custom content creator about the political evils of big corporations isn't going to change anything - go do something productive if you actually care that much. i'm sorry for any hateful comments you're receiving, please know there are people out there who support you. your content is beautiful and i use it all the time in my game, i am so grateful to creators who use their creativity and talent to make such quality content for our games.
I will continue to follow you here and have your CC, but I will have nothing to do with EA's microtransactions. This is a double-edged sword. On the one hand, you've now given console players access to your work, which is good! On the downside, you're only getting a tiny portion of profit and EA is icky. I can see why you feel conflicted. I am sorry people are attacking you over this. No one deserves to be harassed over this decision. If people don't like it they can just leave without announcing their departure.
Hi Valia, I really like your CC and have for a while now, but I'm disappointed to see you participate in the marketplace. I am sorry you've been having a hard time with your decisions and I understand but I hope to see you step away from it. It seems like it has and will only bring you stress and negative attention. Thank you for making great custom content, I hope this makes sense for you to consider.
hey, i found you through marketplace your pack looked good but i don't want to support ea, so i support you here. :)
You did what you felt was right for you and as far as I am concerned you have no reason to apologize for your choices. Thank you so much for your honesty. Love your content and I have always felt terrible about not being able to support so many wonderful cc creators so I understand them needing to have another form of income for creating content. Thank you so much for the duel focus to both and I will continue to support however I can.
I won't be participating in the marketplace, but I wanted to tell you that your pack looked to be the best value - per item and also the most well-constructed. I am not a paid member, but one thing the marketplace has done is make me realize I need to show my support if I want my favorite creators to keep creating! Thank you for sharing your incredible talent.
I love your content and I'll be here
I love your cc! If not for the Market Place I wouldn't have found you. You're one of my new favorite creators. Don't let anyone bring you down.
Please don't feel guilty! You can't change anything that's happened (or anyone's reactions, for that matter). I'm so sorry you've had a hard time over this. Things will get better. Stay strong. <3
I love your work, but I can’t in good conscience be okay with supporting someone that is okay with their work being associated with micro transactions and perma-paywalling and EA selling out to Kushner and Saudi Arabia. People should call out their favs for problematic behavior and blindly supporting doesn’t help.
girl the world is fucked and nobody will do anything about it. at least let people have a chance of making money and surviving
I don’t understand the need for people to state they’re going to stop following creators because of participation in MP. Just quietly step away. Why put that out there for creators and reviewers who have to make their own careers and hobbies recognized? It’s disheartening that many creators and game reviewers are getting such nastiness. If you don’t have something nice to say, don’t. Go on with your life without having to inform everyone as a gamer and consumer. Social media can be a weird thing, especially with the confidence and entitlement that some people discover when being behind the keyboard.
I love your cc and appreciate everything you, and other creators have added that has made my game better since back when i was playing sims 1 (and even sim city). I personally don't plan on using the marketplace, but I don't fault you, or any creators who joined, nor do I have any negative feelings about anyone who would accept a job where they get paid to do something they are clearly passionate about. The sims community can unfortunately be incredibly toxic and many people engage in outright bullying while convincing themselves they are in the right.
Your bookstore collection is so amazing! I love looking at it and am amazed at how much work and effort was put into them. Simply beautiful!!! I’m sorry that EA’s actions and the Sims community comments have caused such negative associations for you for your set. EA only paying creators 30% really is the worst. Their practices are so predatory. I heard creators didn’t even know what they were signing up for at first. With this economy, and the manipulation EA does on creators, I don’t blame anyone who signs up for the marketplace. The users can decide whether or not to buy them or not. What other people do has nothing to do with you. I personally won’t be giving EA any money in hopes that they sell off the franchise, for many reasons. No hate to anyone who does differently.
Don’t feel bad about the 30% They were very much aware lol
I just want you to know that you have my support. I truly value what you do and feel grateful for everything you create. Don’t let negativity dim your passion. The marketplace is a great opportunity to give your creations more visibility and reach a wider audience. Whether people choose to buy them directly from the marketplace or come support you on Patreon is up to them. Thank you for everything you do—you make my game a thousand times better. ❤️
Just know that there are many out here (myself included) that find your work so beautiful and valuable. Personally, I'm planning on ignoring the marketplace in favor of directly supporting my favorite creators like you! I see no reason to change the way I play/enjoy the game just because some EA exec thinks milking their fans will somehow increase their profits. If I had to play vanilla, I just wouldn't play at all, and it's folks like you who add so much life and beauty to the game! Edit: To add, you deserve to get exposure however you choose! I'm hoping if you are going to be part of the marketplace, that brings awareness of your great work to others as well :)
I’ve been following your work for a while, and I honestly think what you create is amazing. The quality of your CC is incredible, honestly even better than what the game itself offers. And it’s always been clear how much care and dedication you put into the process. It really makes me sad to see how much criticism some creators have been receiving lately. I truly don’t think it’s fair. You’ve always been generous with your content, offering it for free after early access, and giving so much to the community. Also, I think people forget that this marketplace can be a great opportunity for players who don’t use PC, like console players, to finally have access to custom content. That’s something really positive. I just wanted you to know that I support you, I appreciate your work, and I’m really grateful for everything you create. Please don’t let the negativity take away your passion... you deserve recognition, not judgment. Thank you for everything you do for us!!
Is it just me or does that sofa remind you of the one in Central Perk; the coffee shop in Friends? Remember that? Friends? No matter what your decision is, we're all supposed to be friends. If a person doesn't like the market they don't have to use it. You do you!!! We love your work and I think only the petty members of our community are stopping their support. I was here when you had only created 3 sets and I'll stay for the duration! I've never been disappointed with your work. As a bipolar person I can tell you better than most that you have to take care of your mental health. Being attacked sucks and it breeds depression. Take the time to take care of yourself. I don't know if you can block people from posting but if you can it might not be a bad idea. I know you can make it so that only your supporters can comment. It's not ideal but it's a way to keep so much negativity from reaching you. I know you like to get ideas from everyone but you've got to take care of yourself and it's the only thing I can think of that might help. In time, after this ridiculous backlash has ended you can go back to the way things used to be. Wishing you all the love in the world!
Nobody should expect you to work for free, especially at your skill level. ❤️
I would also like to thank you for your amazing work - you are truly one of the greatest. Your work is made so beautifully. ❤️ If people are giving you hate - they are not true supporters, and to be honest, fuck them. We your true supporters, will support you no matter what! ❤️
Hi, I just discovered your page yesterday and I’m blown away by your talent and amazing work. I downloaded everything and they look amazing in game. I’m really sorry about the cruel comments, please don’t let them discourage you. It’s the sims team’s fault that the game got broken after the update, so taking it out on everyone else is absolutely unfair. I won’t update my game for a while, but I will happily use your cc in my builds and I hope there’s more to come. Keep up with the good work ❤️
Based on a few comments, I now see why you feel so attacked and I'm even more sorry for what you've dealt with. It's not right to attack you bc you made a financial decision for yourself. They are mad about a company buyout & new marketplace integration that they don't like, fair enough, "most" ppl don't, in that case, stop playing the game, simple enough.. instead they are griping at everyone still playing. Makes sense? No.. It's childish not proactive. STOP ATTACKING CREATORS, it shows your character or lack thereof more than anything. That's all, I'm off to bed. God bless y'all (whether you believe or not, I'm a Christian who loves Jesus & all of His creations including y'all)
Wow! Love your creation on the Marketplace. My favorite builder just bought your pack and showed it in game, its beautiful. Very happy to see you there. Your cc is amazing.
I used to use your cc when they were public, but after what happened, I decided to support you. The harassment you’re facing is completely unreasonable, and I’m really sorry you have to go through this. I just want you to know that I truly value your work, and I hope you’re doing well. Please take care! I support all of your decisions. Thank you for your amazing work 🤍
Here is the last and only comment I'm going to make before I take my leave. The reactions here in your comment section shows that I am not a welcome party to this 'community'. Yes I've loved you're content and supported you for a good while before my financial situation changed but this was very disappointing. Microtransactions and perma-paywalling plus the buyout with people who are actively harming real human beings. I'm sorry but I can't support that and I can't support people who also support that.
Thing is, not a single person is asking you to do anything. No one is forcing you to support anyone who doesn't "align with your ideologies". This is literally a video game. Y'all are crashing out over a game. Seriously. Those that say it's much deeper haven't had their eyes open wide enough to realize this world is utter garbage right now and leeching that into a video game is bizarre too. People seem to get off on being miserable.
It’s terrible that people are harassing the cc creators over the marketplace, and really silly that people get upset about EA trying to make money where they can, maybe it’s ’cash grabby’ but last I checked, EA is based out of the flagship country of capitalist exploitation, aka the US. Anyway, I have my own opinions and feelings on everything, but most importantly, I think your custom content is some of the most well done and beautiful cc I have seen for the Sims. It’s the only offering that made me even consider using the marketplace, and imo you and the other creators should be getting a higher percentage. As much as it would be an ideal world where artists could create art for free and not have to worry about expenses, that is not the world we live in. Thank you for all the time and effort you put into your creations and that you share them with us.
I just want to say that I love this CC pack. Your Quiet Corner is everything I’ve always wanted in my game, and you’ve brought that to us. Thank you so much. I understand your disappointment with everything that’s been going on. We’re all disappointed with EA and their decisions and direction. But the game isn’t at fault, and neither are you or the other creators. It’s simply the general frustration that the community feels.
I only recently followed you because I saw your creation on the marketplace advertisements and loved the look of your furniture. I don’t feel any type of way about the marketplace I don’t understand why people are getting mad about the EA greed it’s always been the same it’s nothing new lol. And if I see something I like that is exclusive to the marketplace only I may purchase but there is absolutely no need for the backlash towards creators you’re getting a 30% cut anyone filled with rage about it need to speak to EA. Please don’t let anyone’s comments force you into quitting marketplace if you want to you can, if you don’t you don’t have to. You do what you feel is right for you and you only. The right supporters will stick around and only bring positivity <3
some people need Jesus! I'm sorry you were treated so poorly, I adore you no matter what you do in life or what you believe in. HUGS!
Hey! Don't give up! You talented guy
I'm sad that you're sad... I love your work and I think you should make the choices that are most favorable to you and that you like. After all, we're here enjoying wonderful creations without paying anything for them. So? We just have to be grateful! Everyone lives their own life and everyone tries to do what they think is best, right? Don't waste time with negative opinions! Kisses and lots of love!
I'm not judging you for your decision. I simply want you to feel like yourself again. I know that you are so talented and I love using your custom content in my game.
I really love your CC and hope you continue to create great content on Patreon! I will pay full price for what you make and you deserve the proper compensation. It seems like the Marketplace is unfair to CC creators and the Saudi merger makes it all a bit suspicious. Also, the sudden malfunction of almost all CC in the game from outside the Marketplace is suspect, but who knows. There is clearly a high level of incompetence at Maxis, as we have seen for years, with broken packs and updates that only seem to do more damage. I am not updating the game and waiting and hoping it is repaired before playing again. I personally want to steer clear of the Marketplace based on the above. I hope you continue with Patreon and can focus there. You are appreciated here!
I‘m so sorry for how you are treated by some people! There seems to be just that big bubble in the community full of people who will never be satisfied. But please remember, just because they‘re loud dosen’t mean they‘re right. I‘ve only found you quiet recently but absolutly fell in love with your cc, that gives such cozy vibes. Plus, yours its the only set that is tempting me on the marketplace, even so I thought I‘ll never buy from it. But I can’t live without that cozy looking armchair! Please take all the time that you need and I really hope you‘ll find happiness in creating CC again!
I see that I'm not the only one who really appreciate your set on marketplace. It immediately stood out thanks to great quality of items and overall vintage-old-bookstore vibe that I love! I'm definitely buying that pack. Also, your set brought me here where I downloaded ALL of your creations because they're exactly my type in terms of style. I'm already building a cute bookstore with a place to drink coffee and read. The next door is gonna be a bakery. Please don't be discouraged by the always negative community! I'd agree that sets from other creators were sometimes questionable but yours is top tier! I'll be coming back here and to the marketplace if there's more of your sets. All the best to you!
I really hate that the toxic ones in the community are getting you down. Your choice to participate in the Marketplace will bring joy to a lot of console players. Please try to focus on the good and ignore the haters. Love triumphs over hate and judging by all of these wonderful comments you have a lot of love coming your way! 🫶
Don't let the haters get to you, it’s a very toxic base community and has been for a long time. Personally your set was the only one I bought because it actually felt worth the money; it’s basically my dream kit that I’ve been waiting on forever, very versatile with great swatches and very well-made. (you have no idea how perfect the pillows are!) Thank you for all your hard work and try not to get too discouraged!!
I had not planned to buy something on the market place, but as I saw your awesome reading nook set I couldn't resist. You made a fantastic set what´s worth to support you. Of course EA will earn the bigger part of my money, but you will earn a little money, some more fame *lol*. Let the boys and girls cry that your decision (and all other well known artists in Meshing and creating wonderful stuff for the sims community) to release some stuff on market place. They just crying because they can´t have stuff what they delight without paying. I don`t like people they don`t honor other investments in time and sweat and criticise them to go commercial. #sorryformybadlanguage #shitontoxicpeople
I still love your work and support your right to make your own decisions about how to share it with the world. Thanks for all you do - I use several of your cc packs!
I assure you, I do support you. But having said that, I won't update my game anymore and just play offline, because I'm tired of being one of EAs cashcows. Still there's lovely cc to look forward to, where the creators can make beautiful textures and items. And perhaps the simscommunity stops bickering and the cc-creators who permapaywall just stops. An utopia, sure, but one can hope... dream even... because we are nearing dark times and everyone is short of cash... and if it spreads even further maybe even no internet... we need to feel more joy...
Unfortunately I can't play offline EVER. I just get a notice that I've been offline too long and need to log back in... AND I HAVE NOT BEEN OFFLINE FOR MONTHS! Ugh
I’m cheering you on! It’s amazing that console players are finally getting access to CC—just like your incredible work. I’ve been playing since The Sims 1, so like Sarah B, I’m an old-school player too. Whether it’s a marketplace or not, I think it’s almost impossible to avoid the “toxicity” in comment sections—but I truly hope you can learn to ignore it. Your work is so beautiful, and you absolutely deserve both recognition and to be paid for what you create. Sending lots of love your way!
I just wanted to say your Quiet Corner collection has genuinely inspired me. I’ve already started creating a new Sim and story around it, and I’m so excited to be immersed in her world. Thank you for sharing your creativity with us 🤍
The detractors aren’t contributing anything positive to the community. They are the same kind of people to litter and then complain when the trash piles up, pointing fingers at others while expecting someone else to clean up the mess. They are not solution seekers. Meanwhile, you are dedicating your time to bring something beautiful into the game and make it accessible for more audiences. Don’t let the negative Nancy’s dim your shine.
I'm a supporter, period. My niece plays Sims on console and let me tell you, I have never seen her so excited to get to have custom content on her game "just like her aunt." Ignore the negativity. Don't forget the people you've helped feel included through the marketplace and please don't listen to the toxic self absorbed oxygen thieves. They are not worth it. Lots of love from Texas!
I can really feel your pain in your post. It makes me sad that you feel this way. I love your creations and you are really one of the best out there. There is such a toxic environment surrounding this game, but you made the decision you felt was right for you at the time. It doesn't change anything about how people should feel about you. I love your stuff and will continue to support, and hope you do continue to share your progress and thoughts. Hugs!
I WILL support you on marketplace a million percent because I love everything that you do and completely understand that you would like to offer your time and talent to people who are unable to use traditional mods. The Sims 3 also had the same concept, and I think the people who are so offended by it must not be actual simmers. I've been doing this for 20 years (yep, I'm old) and will spend my hard earned money supporting the creators who make their own choices to join it and I respect your decision! <3
But through doing so, you're inadvertently supporting a corporation that has been bought out by individuals who quite literally commit crimes against humanity.
I am a quiet supporter but I want to make sure you know how much I love your work and appreciate what you do. Having the opportunity to have your content officially in the game we have all loved for so long is so understandable and you should not be made to feel so awful about this decision. The entire marketplace situation has been handled so poorly by EA and the most frustrating part to me is how they are exploiting the creators that make this community what it is. You deserve to be compensated better for your work that they are profiting off of. You deserve better from EA and you deserve kindness, compassion, and respect from all of us in the Sims community. Your CC is some of my very favourite and I use it in every build I make. I love this current collection so much. Thank you for sharing your amazing work with us and thank you for including us in your process. The book covers you created for this set brought me so much joy. I can't wait to see what you do next!
I found you through a vid so hey promotion? ignore negative people that think everyone owes them everything only thinking of themselves while pretending to be heroes. you took an opportunity as anyone would and should. if anything you have been taken advantage of by EA. but still, promotion? also love the set it so pretty and moody.
Listen, a LOT of the online discourse is highly performative. You're a normal person with a beautiful, creative hobby, and it's completely okay to be unpolitical and just use a game/modding to get away from the real world for limited amounts of time. Literally NOBODY is perfect, the angry people aren't, and you don't have to be either. Try to breathe, and look away from the online world from time to time. You'll be okay, I promise. You are still loved. This (performative cancellation and condemnation) is NOT compassion. 🙏💙
Honestly I was disappointed you took part in the market place I won’t lie but I know EA are extremely predatory and greedy they know how to manipulate creators, I’d just ask you please reconsider working with them again just from an ethical standpoint with the Saudi deal EA are gross and don’t deserve to profit off your hard work and please be assured this is in no way an attack just my option
I love this set so much, and I am sorry that the negativity of the community has gotten you down about it. I don't understand why people have to be jerks about things like the marketplace.
I’m not very tuned into the sims marketplace issue, but i do think that the negativity is/should be directed towards EA. You deserve to be supported for your work, do not undervalue yourself. EA’s profit-driven actions reflects badly on them, not on you. Keep up the great work, you are so talented. I loveeeee the quiet corner set so far! And the book covers ugh! just amazing.
I'm sorry that you are feeling down! The marketplace definitely stirred up a lot. However, the couch looks beautiful! This collection is really great, I think your best one so far. I impressed and blow away by all the time you put into the book covers.
I've been a fairly quiet supporter all this time but you will always have my support. 🫶🏽
hii can i ask where you got the hair on the sim in ur pfp?
I I love your work and thank you for giving us all this content. We were all disappointed with the new update, but please continue because you are very special to us! With love from Brazil. ♥️♥️
Our love for you will never diminish so never worry xxx
