Quiet Corner - Welcome Desk
Hey everyone!
Here's the next part for the Quiet Corner Collection themed around a cozy bookshop. This part is about the front desk. I wanted to create a little corner where you can pay for your books and buy some extra unnecessary things. (Of course just in our imagination because sadly sims don't stand in line in front of the cash register.)
For this set I was partly inspired by the series "You" and its vibes for the interior but I added elements I thought would look cool.
The cash register is functional with the Get to Work retail system so you can manage your store by clicking on it but if you don't have that pack the item is still going to show up, it will just be decorative.
I tried to add more than one slot for the register on the counters but I was unable to make it work so it has only one in the middle.
The countertop book display has two empty space for the in-game books, they will slot there.
Both the stack of books and the closed delivery box are stackable.
I made a wooden wall panel and a chalkboard that you maybe saw in a wip post, I couldn't finish those for this set but they'll come in the next! I had to spend more time on the bookmark patterns, and also on the tote bags.
I hope you like this set! Next part will be about the shelves and hopefully books to put on them! I want to make some simple books to fill up the shelves but I want to make simmified book covers as well, possibly functional, readable books. I don't know what will fit into the next part, as I mentioned earlier I'm trying to upload more frequently so I really have to regulate myself not to go overboard with the amount.

Unrelated, but I just saw the creator marketplace thingy and you're in it. Does this mean you aren't going to release as much free future CC? If so, that's really sad because I love your stuff, and I am not financially able to support your gorgeous CC from the new system.

bruhhhh! i know you're one of the "newer" CC creators in this space, but you popped onto the scene and made one hell of a splash, i feel like out of nowhere too. i just need to know how you popped onto the scene..i'm assuming you had a previous knowledge of 3d creation? along with rendering and other skills needed to make such intricate sims 4 build&buy objects. basically i ask out of envy..to create BB items with the intricacy and fabulousity that you and other CC creators do (ie: felixandre, YOU, harrie, peacemaker, etc) i'm assuming the majority of you had to have the knowledge to make 3d objects and the basic coding knowledge to make objects from scratch, usable specifically in the sims 4, with the necessary tuning and functionality. and if you didn't already come giftwrapped with the necessary knowledge, how did you learn to point of creating such beautifully crafted items?
Heey, thank you so much for the nice words. I wouldn't say I had that much knowledge prior to starting creating CC. I started learning Blender and 3D about half a year prior to me deciding and starting my first collection. And if you look back, you can see I was trying to do simple models, and my texturing wasn't as detailed as now. I knew nothing about Sims 4 Studio, everything I know I learned from their forum and if I have a problem I search there for earlier posts and usually I find an answer. I don't know how to code, sadly, I just have a basic knowlegde of HTML which isn't too useful for the game codes, so as I said, if I want to modify something I have to search on the forum. So all in all, I would say, you can learn this by doing rather than studying. In 3D there are many ways to do something, you can be free and creative if you know the basic tools. For texturing I maybe had some experience in digital painting because I draw and paint since I was a child and I also learn art in university so I could use those skills in texturing my objects.
