WOTM: Say It Ain't So, Joe!

Joe Schmid is (was?) a young agnostic YouTube philosopher. Not just YouTube. He's published and completely legit. I've been watching his videos for quite a while. And I would consider myself a semi-fan. Something always seemed a little off to me. But he's incredibly sharp. And seems like a really sweet kid (26, I think?).

Just as I was going into the hospital, he released a video announcing that he's converted to Roman Catholicism. Almost everyone, myself included, initially thought it was something like an April Fools joke. It wasn't.

I'm pretty late to the game on this one. So I didn't really deal with anything substantive. I just had fun with it. Though I will be doing more serious videos on the topic soon. Especially some videos about Catholic history. If I get too tired, I might let Hitch do a video for me — where I let him list off all the things the Church still needs to apologize for. LOL! 😂

It's impossible to express the gratitude I have for you all... my patrons! I've always been deeply moved by your continued support. That's just off the charts now. There are very few things I love doing more than making these videos. Most of them cannot be discussed in mixed company. So, it's an absolute thrill to be doing this again! Very uplifting. And incredibly good for my mental health.

Planning four videos for next month. Keep your fingers crossed. Next week is the first time since the hospital that I'm getting both chemo infusions and taking the chemo pills. That's a lot of chemo. And it did not go well while I was in the hospital. Wish me luck! Gonna be loading up on the weed!

Thanks again, gang! I'll see you next month. Enjoy! B

I wouldn’t be opposed to a project re-releasing remastered Mr D episodes at a few per month to keep the Patreon moving.

Patreon only takes 10%, so I'm always going to push people to Patreon. It's why I haven't set up YouTube membership. Gonna have to use the pin for my own comment, but I appreciate your efforts. I do have to start verbaly asking people to subscribe, etc... I don't think a graphic is doing the job. Thanks for the input and thoughtfulness!!!

Brian, I posted a reply on the YouTube video to help push your Patrons to updating their membership, with a tip for Apple users like myself. Can you please pin it? Also, will you PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE start adding a line asking people to Like, Comment, and SUBSCRIBE? You need to do this! Also, you should finally open the option for people to become Channel Members on YouTube. Yes, it sucks that YouTube takes 30%, but it’s another way to build steady monthly support, and not everyone wants to use Patreon. Stop leaving money on the table, my friend.

As a recovered Catholic of 62 years, I am very sad.

Pace yourself, rather have fewer episodes if it means better health for you. Looking forward to seeing this one!

The great thing about these videos — in terms of my illness, is that they don't require much physically. I do have to stand for a bit when shooting. But if push comes to shove, I can do them sitting. And the benefit to my mental health is ginormous! Feeling like I have some purpose again (other than just not dying) is incredibly uplifting! Being funny is also... just fun! I think making these videso is gonna be crucial in terms of me beating this thing. Remember, 90% is mental. The other half is physical. 😘

Poor Joe. He's still shopping around for a way to comfort his delusions. Next month, he'll declare that Islam is true, that Mohammed is a prophet, that Allah is real. Or then he'll state he's going to follow the Dalai Lama. Maybe he'll realize that Huitzilopochtli makes the sun rise every day and needs human hearts cut out to appease him. Joe might as well embrace Mormonism since it was founded by a prophet with a similar name. Now… take CARE, Brian! I hope you've got brilliant doctors who really know their medical science.
