WOTM: NPCs
I started playing video games way back in the '70s. Back then, there were no NPCs (non-playable characters) — you didn't have "characters" in video games at all. Just two paddles and a square "ball."
Recently, I've been noticing something which may have been the case for a while. The Christians I engage with, both in real life, and in the comments sections of my videos, seem to be turning into NPCs — people who can't really engage. Instead, they have their "programming" or 'script" and that's all they can do. Have you experienced this?
Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you for all you help! I couldn't do it without you. Literally! Enjoy!!! B

I usually leave a fun comment but not this time. I was talking with a Christian (friend of mine) who said in regard to the Holocaust "They deserved to die." I was appalled. In some shock I said "Why?" He calmly stated a quote from the Bible "The wages of Sin is death. They were sinners." I was at a lost for words. I think I still am. This is the stuff he gets from his church.
“Burrows”? Aren’t the sections called “boroughs”? #beastie
Yes. But mine is funnier.
Christians would surely qualify as NTCs, Non-Thinking Characters, or NCCs, Non-Caring Characters, and ...
LOL! 😂❤️
I can send you a copy of Wolfstein, if you want it.
Believe it or not, I have moved on. But thanks!
It runs on arcade emulators, such as MAME. Check into it! All your classic '70s-'80's faves can be played!
Cool!!! Thanks!
A few thoughts. First, and not for the first time, I am reminded of Maya Angelou's admonition: "When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time." Second, this also reminds me of the time that I tried to read the bible cover to cover. Shortly after Job I couldn't take it anymore and gave up. Reading the bible turned me into an atheist. I have since that time read passages, sometimes entire books or chapters of the new testament, but not the whole psychotic mess. In the 70s a poet/singer named Don McLean (best known for American Pie) sang an arrangement of Psalm 137 that I found particularly beautiful. In college when I was smitten with a fellow freshman young woman I accompanied her to a meeting of the campus Christian club (the things you do for infatuation). When it came my turn to read a psalm this one was the only one I could think of. But McLean's arrangement had left out the last line, which, in my youthful nervousness, I blundered through before I realized what I was saying: Happy is the one who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks. Oops. Well, looking back on it the Christians are the ones who should have been embarrassed, not me. As for NPCs in comments sections, it's hard to tell an AI bot from an actual person anymore. Never say that the enshitification of the internet could not get any worse because as soon as you do -- it will.
I would pay to travel back in time and see you reading that last verse. LOL! 😂❤️
"And they're not all named Melania." HahahahahaHAHAHA! What was I saying about our proclivity to PRETEND?
Berzerk is great! Have you tried the sequel, Frenzy?
I haven't. Is it for consoles, iOS...?
Good ole Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid
I tried that and couldn't get into it. I know people love it though.
