Dan's Not Wrong. But...
Mid-December, Scholar of the Bible and Religion, Dan McClellan made a terrific video taking down all of the silly exusegetics I see on a regular basis as a counter apologetics content creator. The link to Dan's video is in the description. Both Dan and I really want you to see it. But watch this first.
Thanks again, gang! Another long day of editing is ahead for me. Wishing you all a good one! Enjoy!!! B

"The fit for this video has been..." Perfect ending Brian, perfect.
This video made me think that humans have an evolved strength… that ironically can also be a debilitating weakness. We are capable of imagination (which helps us avoid dangers, create inventions, solve problems), but we all-too-often simply… pretend. We pretend that wealth will "trickle down" to us, that there's an endless supply of fossil fuels, that the climate crisis is a "hoax," that there is an invisible sky-daddy who watches over us, that there is an afterlife with rewards for the righteous and punishments for the wicked. Pfffft. I swear that many —if not most— people would rather pretend than look reality squarely in the face. Inevitably, Carl Sagan was right: "Better then hard truth, I say, than the comforting fantasy. And in the final tolling it often turns out that the facts are more comforting than the fantasy."
Reality sucks! It's brutal. No one wants to look that damned thing in the eye. I still look just slightly off toward the bridge of the nose. LOL! 😂
Should exusegetics be spelled excusegetics
D'oh!!!!
I watch Dan, chuckled at your inclusion of the "let's see it"
Love the puns! Kudos to you for promoting Dan, he's one of my favorites, after you of course!😂 To paraphrase Hitch, they can play with their toys as much as they like, but don't ask me to play with them! In which case they should do as you suggest and STFU!
He's really good — especially at explaining excusegetics!
