WOTM: Did Sam Harris Drop The Ball? Part I

Hey Gang! I hope everyone had a great Newtonmas. I have a two-parter for you today.

Sam Harris recently interviewed conservative Catholic, Ross Douthat. In watching the interview, I was surprised to see how much Ross got away with. Not sure what's going on with all the various atheists wanting to have CONversations with Christians. Is it the having CONversations that makes them lose their killer instinct? We've seen Sam do serious damage to just about everyone in the excusegetic space, so I'm not sure what's happening to my comrades. Regardless, I'm here to clean up the mess, with a bit more push back than Sam gave.

Thank you all so much for your continued support. Let me know if you have an idea about these various interviews in the comments. And I'll see you down there. Enjoy!!! B

It's bizarre how childish that guy was. No self reflection, just blurting out "Thou shalt not kill!" and thinking that solved anything or address any point at all!

Hmmm. From the getgo Sam could've immediately exposed Douthat's stupidity when he claimed that the whole universe has some sort of "intentionality" behind it. Horse shit…! Sam should've asked him about the "intentions" behind black holes, supernovas, billions upon billions of galaxies, let alone the stars that make them up. Intentionality, my ass.

So, Douthat believes we are so special that there is a purpose outside of ourselves for us. If this were true and religions know of this purpose, why don't they tell us what the fuck it is?

Couldn't agree more! You'll notice that when Christians talk about Atheism making life meaningless and without purpose, they NEVER tell us what the meaning and purpose is. And they definitely can't tell us what the meaning and purpose of our lives in the hereafter will be. Or is it just to praise God for all eternity? Thanks, but no.
