WOTM: The Messianic Prophecies
This has become a hot topic in counter apologetics. The prophecies actually played a big part in my own deconstruction... if that's what we're calling it now. Strangely, I've never talked about that in one of my videos. And yes, that copy of "Evidence That Demands A Verdict" in the thumbnail is my very own from back in the day.
I'm just finishing up the Mr. Deity episode I told you about. And yes, I did it all in one take. Well, more like 17. But you get the point. LOL! 😂 Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. Enjoy! B

I know this is an old video, but I just wanted to congratulate you on your fabulous Mel Brooks invitation near the end of the video. I almost thought I saw your nose grow for a second there. L'chaim!
Liking the political snark
Voldemort sycophants!!! ( Can't write the taco's name without throwing up a little in my mouth!)
I've heard the same. Mormonism is like every other religion, evolving to keep up with what sells and what turns people off. When I was Mormon, I loved the thought of becoming a god. It somehow made sense of all the suffering. That's a big payoff. Then, I realized that I'd have to watch my children rape each other, genocide each other, etc... No thanks!
I don't wanna work I just wanna bang on the drum all day!
It goes to show how nurture can have a devastating effect on one's… freedom, doesn't it? Escaping the indoctrination is wrenching, and some —most!— never do open their eyes, like my ex-. I well remember a different run in with Isaiah that undermined my membership in our former cult. The older version of the bible that I carried around as a missionary included "A Concise Bible Dictionary" from the Cambridge University Press. (Funny how the cult no longer includes it; I wonder why? Hahaha!) The section on Isaiah clarified that the book is actually two books. Chapters 40-60 were written by "an unknown prophet, who lived in Babylonia during the Exile." Uh… hold on. Since Lehi and his family escaped BEFORE the Exile, how come Nephi quotes chapters 48 and 49 from Isaiah in the Book of Mormon, supposedly written in the Brass Plates of Laban? Whooops.
Whoops, indeed!!!
Fellow foreman here. My husband is saying that Mormons are no longer being taught that we could one day be a god. Do you know if that's true? If so, I'm kinda pissed, because the religion is changing just to fit in with a broader definition of "Christian" Oh, and also I was lied to by the church my whole life. But, what's new?
