I'm kind of sad so many people apparently said S2 was the "worst" season. I feel like it's just counterproductive to tell reactors negatives like that before they can even form their own opinions. Like, S1 might be my least favorite season and I would feel dumb if I said that before you even started the pilot. Personally, S2 was my favorite season for a while. It was always my favorite until a few weeks ago when your reactions made me think more (Now it's a threeway tie between S2, S3 and S4 in 1st place and S1 in 2nd place). In fact, the creator of the show (the writer with the vision for all of this, and from S2 onwards he directs literally every episode!) said it was his favorite season There's a lot I can say about that but I'll watch the discussion first then do a mini writeup. This first episode is better than I remember and it embodies a lot of what I love about S2. I knew the season started out slow (especially since the first episode is split across two episodes -- though enough happens to justify the runtime IMO), but rewatching this with you and I think I enjoyed it more than the S1 finale. It's funny how the reaction changes my opinion a bit, like S1E8 was wayyy better than I remember it being. I was never emotional in the final scene of it but in retrospect the acting, music and editing are peak. And meanwhile S1E10 isn't as good as I remember (though the final scene and the tone is creates is just perfect IMO) Also living for your hatred of Mr Robot and protectiveness over Gideon. You've already seen E2, so... yep
