it took 6 years to get made because matt reeves had some personal issues plus the strikes
Lol funny how this movie, The Penguin and Se7en are in the same cinematic universe.
Alta pelicula
God I adore how emotionally stunted this batman is
I'm personally not a huge fan of Marvel either, but Iron Man 1, Tom Holland's Spider-Man 1-4, the animated Spider-Man movies and Guardians of the Galaxy 1-3 are genuinely great movies that I still enjoy rewatching. I also really enjoy the old Spider-Man and X-Men movies as well as Fantastic Four 1-2 from the 2000s. In my opinion, Tobey Maguire is still the best Spider-Man. I just love how down to Earth that Spider-Man is. As for the Batman movie: It was my first time watching it. I'm not sure why I waited this long, because I really enjoyed Christopher Nolan's Batman movies and the Joker movie. It truly felt more like a crime thriller, with people taking the law into their own hands and fighting criminals, rather than a superhero movie. It was much calmer and less focused on action scenes or special powers. If Penguin is similar, then I understand why it won. It seems really up your alley. But I did miss the comedy. It felt a bit too serious for me.
Awesome movie. I like the aesthetic – the dark, grim, gritty feel. The movie integrates that Nirvana song perfectly. Zoë Kravitz is hot. Such a pleasant surprise when I first watched this movie how much I liked it. My favorite Batman after the Dark Knight Trilogy. Robert Pattinson = excellent. His acting performance and his narration. My son (not much younger than you two) is a fan of Robert Pattinson. Zoë Kravitz is beautiful and good acting in this. I liked her dad as a singer/guitarist.
One of the amazing things about Batman (but is also true for a lot of other superheroes in comics) is that him putting on the mask and creating his persona is a catalyst for some of his most notorious villains also sprouting up out of nowhere, he does indirectly set off a chain reaction when he decided to become a vigilante, this movie does a good job of showcasing that and so does Nolan's movies as well. In the actual comics Bruce's parents murder remains unsolved, although some movie adaptations take creative liberties with this part of his story and sometimes changes it, I always loved that it was never solved, because for him, the one investigation that mattered the most was the one he could never solve and he has to resolve himself to the absolute fact that he will never be able to close that door fully. I know you ladies don't particularly enjoy superheroes but as someone whose entire childhood was superheroes and comics I will say that most of the comics and superheroes does have much deeper meaning and speaks to the human condition and provides really great commentary and societal issues in the world, it is way more that just people putting on tights and fighting mustache twirling villains, but it does have its moments of absolute silliness sometimes I can't even lie, lol. I love how you ladies were able to enjoy yourselves with this one, can't wait to watch Penguin with you ladies as well!!!!!!
Please consider reacting to lanterns!!
Having you guys react to both this movie AND The Penguin is a dream come true. Can't wait to see how you handle the emotional rollercoaster that is The Penguin 😂 The Joker was actually supposed to have a much bigger role in the movie. There's an entire deleted scene where Batman visits Arkham and interrogates him about the Riddler. It's a great scene, but I can definitely understand why they cut it. It probably would've caused some pacing issues. Definitely worth checking out if you're curious: https://youtu.be/FZNWLGL_CxI?si=Av5i7N3iued81p7P
So glad I rewatched this movie with u guys because I lowkey forgot that penguin was in this movie at all... and he was very entertaining!!! Looking forward to watching the penguin for the first time with u guys Yay. I have to study now
I think next movie reaction could be Mulholland Drive, and maybe if they enjoy the experience Twin Peaks could be in a future poll
Omg just imagine if they watched Mullholland Drive? One of the greatest movies of all time
Now that they’ve officially reacted to something superhero-related, is it possible to hope that one day they’ll react to Daredevil?
I appreciate the little touches that show Batman has blind spots because of his privilege. He has no idea that the weapon Riddler used is a tool for carpet tucking, and that leads him to miss the whole plan underneath the rug. He also comes across as ignorant in his exchange with Catwoman over reasons to commit crime, and she points out the same thing. Batman 2 is being filmed right now in my city of Glasgow! Whole streets have been dusted with fake snow for weeks now. The final sequence in this film where Batman and Catwoman ride through the cemetery and over the bridge was filmed here too, in a very recognisable couple of spots: Glasgow Necropolis and the Bridge of Sighs.
If we can vote for superhero content for LM to watch my biggest vote by far would be for XMen 97.
I think the movie's first act is stellar, but it does start to slog a bit in the middle. If I'm being honest, I couldn't find a single care for Selina/Catwoman, and I don't feel the movie ever gave me a reason to. The drama around her and her father made the movie feel way longer than it should have been. The mob/corruption plotline was way less interesting than the riddler, though of course they kind of depend on each other. The third act brings things back together a little, but I still find it weaker than the first. The army of riddler fans didn't do much for me either, but I like how it drove home the message of the movie: Batman realizes being "vengeance" alone won't save the city. He has to become not vengeance, but justice. I would have enjoyed it if Batman felt more "new" to his role than he ended up being. Seeing him learn would have been cool. But I still appreciate that his arc in the movie is ultimately about learning where he stands. Riddler was a delight, he really thrives in that "I enjoy being smarter than you" mood which is what the riddler is supposed to be all about.
was not expecting the Abdul El Sayed name drop wow
Abdul El-Sayed mentioned that’s my Senator! (I live in a different state)
That’s the people’s senator (i live in a different country)
Lola making the immediate connection between Riddler and Batman being on the same side. This is why I'm subbed to you two. Can't wait for The Penguin reactions.
Can’t believe people got you to watch a fucking superhero movie before Lord of the Rings
For the sake of the girls someone please put a lamp in these rooms!
Me, with tears in my eyes, having to unfollow LM at the end of the month
My top Batman movies: 1. The Dark Knight trilogy 2. The Batman (2022) (like the aesthetics) 3. Batman (1966) (campy, I have nostalgia)
The Penguin show is fantasticjust saying 👀
Ohh so if I don’t see another movie reaction this year then we should unsubscribe? Bet =P haha and well.. I’m glad you guys enjoyed the movie and yeah it’s a bit on the long side but hey.. at least with this movie you don’t feel that time since the plot is constantly moving. Out of all the many adaptations of the Batman character.. I think I would rank this as my second favorite..The Dark Knight is still my number one but this one is up there. Also when it comes to super hero movies in general, I do understand some of them are pretty generic but there is also some unique ones out there. Now I will wait for the next movie reaction.. hopefully the next one it’s a comedy for your sakes lol
yeah the dark knight is still a high-water mark in terms of batman films. this one was a better detective batman story where most of the previous films didn't explore that element of his character as much, but the emotional punch in this film wasn't as strong as the nolan ones, nor was it as epic, not that i think batman films need to be epic, but nolan is great at epic so it adds to those films.
There will Be blood for next movie reaction? (Probably next year lol)
Batman beating up criminals doesn’t address the root causes of crime. But that’s what Bruce Wayne’s philanthropy, social programs, investment, and attempts at institutional reform are for. Batman is the emergency response side of it, stopping people who are hurting others right now. The problem with saying “he should address the core issue instead” is that Gotham is written so the core issues can never actually be permanently solved. Bruce can fund reform and social programs forever, but Gotham has to remain corrupt, unequal, and crime-ridden for Batman stories to continue. So the fact that Batman doesn’t permanently fix Gotham isn’t proof that Bruce is ignoring systemic problems, or that Batman shouldn’t be helping these individuals who need it right now. You could argue he doesn’t have to beat them up but I don’t see another way especially when the movie usually puts Batman in situations where the people he physically fights are actively assaulting, shooting at, or threatening someone. No defending vigilante’s or violence irl, but this isn’t supposed to be irl.
"If Batman helped the disadvantaged it would solve the core issues" is also kinda a weird take IMO because it ignores the fact that most of Batman's rogue's gallery is GENUINELY INSANE and their motivations have nothing to do with turning to crime in order to survive. Funding social services will not solve Bane or the Joker lmao
The only superhero movies you NEED to react to is the Spider-verse animated movies after the 3rd movie comes out in 2027!
LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
“Time flies we are gonna die next year” Time to watch Synecdoche, New York
I 2nd this, seeing them watch Synecdoche would be awesome
You all are the best
Now you're ready for the superior batman movie, the lego batman movie
Hell has indeed frozen over🔥
I feel like they would enjoy superman 2025
“I have watched 6 movies this year” does that include the movies you reacted to in this channel? If you haven’t seen Obsession yet, that’s a great movie in the under 2 hour range
Just finished the intro and just want to say I know for certain you girls would love some of the Netflix Marvel shows Daredevil, Punisher, and Jessica Jones. Season 1 of Jessica Jones is iconic for me I feel like I have never seen anything like it in a super hero setting.
Of the Marvel movies, I feel like they could appreciate Thunderbolts!
thunderbolts is a particularly good one but don't think there should be any issues with mcu films in general if they're fine with shonen anime.
Just in time for dinner. Let see how their first introduction to Batman goes lol also..could this be a way to get Daredevil at some point? We shall see.. maybe not lol
Truly hope they watch Daredevil (Netflix) and Jessica Jones and Wonder Man :( if they ever decide to watch more superhero adaptions.
Lola and Milena reacting to a superhero movie? In this economy?

Look on the bright spot Lola, by watching this 3 hour movie we are one step closer to Milena being able to sit through the Lord of The Rings in one sitting….maybe by 2050 😂

Robert Pattinson kills it in everything!
So excited to see him in Dune 3
I've been itching for this one.
He’s the Batman. The strong, silent type.
